Dr. Ramkumar performed my right hip arthroscopy 10 weeks ago. I was born with bilateral hip dysplasia, which led to labral tears in both hips. I initially tried physical therapy, but unfortunately it did not improve my symptoms. I was then referred to Dr. Ramkumar, who recommended hip arthroscopy.
He took the time to ensure I fully understood the treatment plan and addressed all of my questions with care and professionalism. Before the surgery, I experienced significant pain while sitting or driving for extended periods.
I am pleased to report that I am now pain-free in my right hip. The outcome of the surgery has been excellent, and based on my experience, I plan to proceed with left hip arthroscopy under his care as well.
Dr. Ramkumar is an outstanding physician, and his office staff are consistently polite, professional, and attentive. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking expert care for hip conditions.
If all doctors were like Dr. Garabekyan, the world would be a better place. My husband and I moved from Idaho for me to get treatment with Dr. G for my bilateral hip dysplasia and labral tears (scope + PAO), and we are certain that we could not have picked a better surgeon. He has completely redefined my outlook on healthcare; I never knew doctors could be this patient, involved, compassionate, and genuine. He is clearly an expert in his field and has been meticulous at every step of my care from pre- to post-surgery, always taking the time to explain, answer questions, and go the extra mile to ensure I feel listened to and supported. I have never once felt rushed or overlooked by Dr. G, and I know my family would wholeheartedly say the same. Surgery can be really scary to consider, but Dr. G will absolutely do his due diligence and more to make you feel supported and confident throughout the recovery journey. Despite being less than 3 weeks post-RPAO and 4 weeks post-arthroscopy, I am already so ecstatic about my progress and I can’t thank Dr. G enough for giving me a new lease on life towards a healthier and pain-free future.
I also want to give my kudos to Schevonne, who is Dr. G’s right hand and assistant. She is so kind, responsive, and is incredible at staying on top of everything. She made all the technical and clerical parts of getting ready for surgery a breeze for me, and it made things so much less stressful, especially when dealing with insurance and needing to temporarily put life on pause. Schevonne’s absolutely been the cherry on top for my experience with Dr. G and Commons Clinic, and I really appreciate how invested she’s been in my ongoing care.
Dr. Garabekyan is the best. He's helped heal me in ways unimaginable. I never realized how much pain I truly was in my whole life living with hip dysplasia until I had the corrective surgery. Everyday activities such as walking up and down stairs are now so achievable when before it felt so exhausting. I can't even begin to thank Dr. Garabekyan enough for making me love working out again. Hiking and long walks are now some of my favorite activities when before I was known to hate these things. I feel reborn as if I never truly understood what life was like without the bother of the clicking bones I had prior. Thank you so much Dr. Garabekyan!
We learned that our daughter would likely need to have PAO surgery to correct the congenital hip dysplasia of her left hip in the summer of 2019. She found Dr. Garabekyan online and came to her dad and I (both physicians in Indiana) and asked if we could talk to him. At the time, I thought of the idea of going all the way to California to have the surgery was a long shot. I reached out to Zohra, who put us in contact with Dr. Garabekyan. He took the time to meet with my husband and I over the phone and answered all of our questions and concerns. He had a second meeting with our daughter to address all of her questions. We read his research and papers published on the CU-PAO and were convinced that he was who we wanted to do her surgery. With the way Dr. Garabekyan talks to his patients about the mechanics of the hip, we were assured that this is his passion and he is very skilled at what he does. Our daughter had a hip scope in late June of 2020 and her PAO a week later. Her recovery has been amazing and working with Dr. G was our best decision. We cannot say enough good things about Dr. Garabekyan, Zohra, and his staff.
A hip preservation discussion should connect socket coverage, cartilage health and your symptoms before comparing rehabilitation, PAO or other options.
