Dr. Ramkumar and his team (shoutout to Margo & Ishan) have been consistently superb throughout the entire process of helping me recovery from my injury (comprised of: ACL tear, lateral meniscus tear, & MCL sprain), which isn’t a surprise because even when I first met them I immediately knew that I was in good hands. Him and his team are so responsive (I always receive a response either in the same day or the next day) that I wonder when they find the time to sleep. Dr. Ramkumar’s knowledge is both expansive and current. So much so, that he used Cameron brink’s surgery as an example when he was telling me about the LET procedure. My dad tore his ACL twice, and neither of his surgeons ever mentioned the LET procedure in tandem with the ACL repair. So Dr. Ramkumar enlightened both my dad and me on its history and results. As an athlete who misses playing volleyball dearly, I’m so happy and blessed to have him in my care team because he has a track record of treating other athletes as well. The day of my surgery was quick and smooth. Dr. Ramkumar met with me before I was put under to go over everything again, and did so again when I woke up after the surgery as well to make sure the brace was properly fitted and that I had all the instructions/paperwork. I had minimal pain after surgery, and I was even able to bend my knee to 90 degrees the DAY AFTER surgery (90 degrees was my two week goal)!! I'm writing to share my incredibly positive experience with Dr. Prem Ramkumar, an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip replacements. My journey to finding him began with a concerning visit to my regular orthopedist, Dr. Vance Eberly. After months of increasing hip pain, and having reached my target weight for surgery, X-rays revealed the extent of the damage was beyond Dr. Eberly's scope of practice. This led to my referral to Dr. Ramkumar. Initially, I sought out a surgeon specializing in the anterior approach to hip replacement, a method known for its faster recovery and reduced limitations. My own research, combined with Dr. Eberly's recommendation, pointed me towards Dr. Ramkumar. His impressive credentials and overwhelmingly positive patient reviews confirmed he was the right choice. From my first consultation, I was impressed by Dr. Ramkumar's thoroughness. He took detailed X-rays, patiently explained the complexities of my condition, and clearly outlined the surgical procedure he proposed. His calm and reassuring demeanor greatly eased my anxieties. ACL Reconstruction & Meniscal Repair Success After consulting with several orthopedic specialists about my ACL and meniscus injuries, I ultimately chose Dr. Ramkumar—and I am so glad I did!! Dr. Bhalla is an excellent spinal surgeon and he has an excellent staff. The staff got me in earlier than my original appointment because I was in a great deal of pain. The surgery coordinator did an excellent job of facilitating the process leading up to the procedure. Dr. Bhalla has been excellent from start to finish, taking the time to carefully listen and explain my situation to me and answer questions. There was a great deal of follow-up post surgery. Initial visit...found Dr. Millstein to be extremely professional, as well as, very engaging, (which put me at ease); his questions were very pointed & organized - with follow-up questions that delved, more thoroughly, into my concerns. The testing of my physical strength and agility was methodical, ending with a referral for MRI and follow up visit. I was given a few possible options, to consider, depending upon what MRI disclosed. I give Dr. Khurana a million stars if I could. He is very knowledgeable and compassionate. I thought I hurt my left shoulder somehow and had excruciating nerve pain running down my left arm. It was so bad I wanted to chew it off myself. I went to several doctors that sent me for an MRI of the shoulder and was sent for physical therapy. One finally sent me for an MRI of my neck which showed a degenerative disk that was pressing on a nerve. I wasn't comfortable with that doctor or a fan of spine surgery so I went to a chiropractor for help. After several treatments there was no relief in sight. By some miracle my dermatologist suggested I call Dr. Khurana and get a second opinion. I did and was able to get an appointment the next day! When he saw me almost in tears from the pain and me telling him I had a planned trip to Italy a week later, he immediately told me he would make room for me to have surgery to replace a disk in my neck the very next day. Something about the way he said it and of course researching him the day prior, made me feel at ease. Well, he did the surgery, it took a few days to feel myself again, but only because of the anesthesia. I felt no pain the moment I woke after surgery. The pain was gone! Within one week, I was able to board several flights, pain free and enjoy a well deserved Italian vacation with my family. I wouldn't have been able to do that without the surgery and certainly not without Dr. Khurana's expertise! His staff from the front desk to the surgery center he uses to his after care team is by far the BEST I have ever experienced. Don't hesitate to make an appointment if you have spinal pain. Dr. Ramkumar is a great doctor! The first time we met Dr. Ramkumar, he was very hands on. He took the time to walk me back to get an X-ray and spent time explaining my unique condition and what he will do to help relieve my pain I had for years. He helped coordinate my surgery from start to finish and he would call to update me on every step… all prescriptions was called in. Also, my concerns about having surgery in the hospital instead of outpatient was important because of my medical history and he was instrumental in making sure my surgery was scheduled as an inpatient procedure. The day of surgery he came in early to explain all the details of my procedure and what to expect after the procedure was done. After surgery he updated my family and he took the time to answer any and all questions and showed pictures of before and after surgery, which was 100% better than what I was dealing with for years. Even after a long day of doing other patients surgeries he took the time to come visit me before he left for the day. The next day after my surgery he came and spoke to PT and told them exactly what type of therapy exercises he wanted. He even got on the ground to demonstrate the exercises. He made arrangements for me to continue physical therapy after I was discharged, so I didn’t have to worry. He made himself available all hours of the day calling to check on me or a text. If I text him he would respond right away or call.

I have had numerous spine issues and Dr. Khurana has operated on my spine every time. Dr. Khurana and his staff are really excellent in the care they have given me. A special shout-out to his Surgical Coordinator Jessica Gomez who always answers her phone and thoroughly answers my many questions. Dr. Khurana is an excellent surgeon that really cares, I highly recommend him and his top notch team. As a side note, at both my 3 month and 6 month follow up appointments there is no pain at all. Recent August 2023 edit: Also, it’s been a year now without pain and I feel terrific. So no more appointments are scheduled. Dr. Khurana said to call for an appointment only if needed. Truly a great caring surgeon.
