Dr Richard Ahn is an exceptional hand surgeon. He is knowledgeable, kind & caring. He explained all options to me regarding my broken wrist. Choosing surgery was my best option. Dr Ahn explained the surgery procedure and recovery path to me in detail. I was referred to Medcessity in Long Beach for my PT clinic. Six months later, my hand is at 90% and is stronger now than it was before I broke it. Thank you Dr. Richard Ahn, you are truly the best!
It’s been 6 months since my wrist surgery (for a torn TFCC) and I have improved vastly. I want to thank Dr. Ahn and his team for everything, from pre-op to post-op, especially the recommendation for my occupational therapy.
Dr. Milstein operated on my left wrist that had broken , back in 2016. excellent surgeon, excellent recovery and no pain afterwards . so after fracturing my left patella i made appt to see him again .He is the only orthopedic doctor i feel comfortable with.. His office staff are all kind , professional . He truly gave me hope , professional , kind and easy for me to explain what happened . i know i will be in good hands after he sees my MRI and goes from there .
I am adding this note on 11/2023. Surgery 8/15/2019. Very severe degenerative disc disease. I am a trauma RN of 35 years. Surgical presentation serious. Sobering reality that I would wake up quadriplegic and never taking a voluntary breath (vs mechanical ventilation) paraplegia, even quadriplegia was a sobering possibility. Following my spine you referred mt Dr Kolahi, he’s an amazing hand surgeon. After bilateral CTR. I am pain free. Minimal R delt numbness - you da best! This guy will always have my back! ( there IS double crush, I’m walking proof. Put that in your fellowship!)
Although I haven't seen Dr. Millstein yet and I'm literally just sitting in the waiting room, I had to share my experience thus far with this unbelievable office. Three days ago I fell and broke my wrists, collarbone and a rib. After a quick ER visit, I was told to find an orthopedic specialist to determine what to do next. I called every office around Venice and unfortunately was rejected by all of them because "we don't take new patients at the moment"... I explained that I'm in incredible pain but no luck.
Until I called Dr. Eric Millstein's office! The reception ladies were the sweetest and understood my situation and made a true effort to get me in ASAP. Insurance, payments and other items were far from being a priority. I felt like they genuinely wanted to help. The intake form portal and X-ray uploading platform were very user-friendly and it took me less than 5 min to complete it all.
They booked me an appointment a week out but kept on updating me on cancellations. A day later a Susie answered my call and was able to squeeze me in to see the Dr. (I can't even describe to you how sweet and helpful this woman is!!)
Schevobnn checked me in with the outmost professionalism and I'm currently waiting for the Dr.
Highly recommended
Thank you to Dr. Bhalla and the wonderful nursing and surgery teams at LB Memorial Care!
I was in a lot of pain from herniated cervical discs going on several months. Rest, meds, PT was not improving so when I got my MRI and then an ortho surgery consult, I knew my situation was steadily getting worse and I was barely managing my day to day activities. However I'm pretty conservative with surgery as an option. Previous issues with carpal tunnel like symptoms had 2 hand surgeons wanting to cut me open with little discussion on why or how or preventative care or alternative options. So I'm a skeptic and firmly believe in researching and educating myself on not only the medical condition but also the practitioner treating me. What gave me no doubt to trust Dr. Bhalla beyond his credentials and extensive papers and research contributions was his ability to genuinely connect and convey trust. I've never met a surgeon who wasn't so talented and confident that it comes across as arrogant and that typically makes me distrust them. Not a great way to start a relationship where your way of life is literally in their hands.
Dr. Bhalla was succinct but sincere and thorough with my endless questions of what when why how and what ifs. I think I even asked the same question in 3 different ways on 2 separate visits. The surgery went well along with my immediate and ongoing recovery so far. Pain free right after surgery and so grateful to have a great quality of life again. I've always told my own clients to never proceed with surgery or a doctor's treatment unless you completely trust them and the team and I followed my own advice here. Dr. Bhalla is an incredible doctor and surgeon, go to the consult and you'll see for yourself.
I hurt my wrist on the pole and went on Yelp to find a doctor.
Dr. Millstein is fantastic. I was a walk-in and they saw me within an hour of calling in! His office is clean, efficient and prompt. Dr. Millstein is warm, receptive and very helpful. After my x-rays, he explained what had happened to my wrist and what exercises I should do to strengthen to avoid further injuries.
Seriously the best! Thank you Dr. Millstein!
My 11 year old son had been complaining about knee pain for a few weeks, and his pediatrician recommended an orthopedist we weren't happy with from a previous visit (we waited almost two hours to see him, while my son was in pain with a broken wrist). I needed to find a good doc, so I did what I always do... Checked in with Yelp! When I saw Dr. Millstein's listing I remembered him from two years ago when I had taken my daughter to his old office in century city, and at the time thought he was terrific! Very professional and very personable at the same time. I remember thinking, at that time, that I needed to remember his name, but alas, life gets hectic... Bottom line, I called and got an appointment for my son for a few days later. The office has you fill in paperwork at home (big time saver!) and when we got to his beautiful new office, we were taken in within about 5 - 10 minutes. The office staff were all very friendly, and seeing Dr. Millstein reminded me of why I was so happy on the first visit, years ago. He has a great personal manner and my son was immediately comfortable. The Dr. took his time in speaking with my son, learning the progression, and doing a complete physical exam. When he gave his diagnosis, he took out his new iPad to show my son an animated 3-D image of the knee and explained how the knee works and exactly why his was hurting. My son was very impressed and so was I. We are a very active family and have seen too many orthopedists here in L.A. Until now, I haven't been impressed by anyone like I am with Dr. Millstein. He clearly knows his craft very well! My son will be starting physical therapy next week, and we'll check in with Dr Millstein in a couple of weeks. It's good to know that my son's knees are in good hands, and Dr Millstein's number is now programmed into my phone!
As an update to my original review, Dr Millstein contacted me, further explained my condition and why I was referred and I finally got the answer to the condition that had plagued me for 6 years. While my first impressions weren't favorable, the aftercare by Dr. Millstein definitely made up for it. My issue was uncommon so the doctor referred me to someone who specialises on elbow and hand injuries.
Nighttime tingling, dropped objects, and a weak pinch deserve an explanation. A useful hand consultation clarifies whether the median nerve is involved, how it is functioning, and which next step fits.
