Dr. Ortega has been amazing, life changing!! I was in so much pain by the time I was referred to him, I was barely sleeping, and missing a ton of work because of the pain and feeling off balance. I was initially referred to physical therapy which was helping both my neck and a shoulder condition. I wasn’t understanding how so many symptoms (pain in my arm, fingers tingling, feeling off balance) all stemmed from my neck. When Dr. Ortega spoke with me about Complete Disk Replacement surgery I was relieved. Though the procedure on my neck sounded scary it HAD to be better than how life had been. I was actually excited for the surgery and couldn’t stop smiling any time it was brought up. Surgery day couldn’t come fast enough. Dr. Ortega took time to explain the surgery and what to expect after it. There were literally no surprises. I felt very little pain after surgery, mostly from the incision itself. There was some discomfort in my neck, almost felt as if there was a lump in my throat. This went away in about 6 weeks. I was off all pain meds within days of surgery. I was nervous about swallowing and stuck to a liquid diet for a few days. Swallowing was back to normal with in a week or two, ice pops became a favorite! . My voice was a little raspy for a short time as well, cleared up within a month. I just had my 6 month post-op appointment and I can’t tell you enough how amazing I feel! The pain and tingling are completely gone (went to physical therapy for some time…work the process). I can sleep through the night again! I did have one odd symptom around 3 months post op, when I tilted my head down I felt a static sensation from neck to my fingers which lasted a second. Dr. Ortega was able to see me next day, checked X-rays and everything looked great. My nerves were heeling and the sensation went away after a couple of weeks. I know the thought of surgery on your neck sounds very scary…if Dr. Ortega is your surgeon, rest easy…he knows what he’s doing. He takes the time to explain everything about the surgery (CDR), what to expect after, answered every question I had which eased my mind. He gave me my life back! Thank you Dr. Ortega!!

Everything was easy from my first phone call to my post op visit. I had surgery from Dr Khurana 10 years ago, and when i was out of town and in alot of pain, I made a phone appointment with him and i was scheduled for surgery the following week. Dr Khurana came in obviously before my surgery and two times after. My 1 week post op was with his PA Brianna and it was great. I walked in a bit early and was taken immediately. She answered all my questions, was very personable and I felt very comfortable there. The front desk staff were very friendly as well.

On behalf of my Dad /Hector Valdez- Dr Ramkumar did an awesome job. He did his left knee robotic replacement surgery. It was a success and the recovery, care, follow up has been with so much care. We are now scheduling the 2nd knee surgery this summer and confident of the same outcome due to his excellent expertise and his caring team. Highly recommended.

Dr. Ramkumar performed my ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the care I received. He was professional, thorough, and took the time to clearly explain the procedure, recovery timeline, and what to expect long term. The surgery went smoothly, and my recovery has been better than I expected. He also created his own week-by-week recovery guide outlining what to expect and what needed to be done at each stage, which helped me tremendously throughout the process. I’m now 3 months post-op and already feeling like I can run again, which speaks to the quality of his work and guidance throughout recovery. What I appreciate most is his focus on long-term stability and protecting the health of my knee for years to come. I highly recommend Dr. Ramkumar to anyone needing knee surgery.

It’s been 6 months since my wrist surgery (for a torn TFCC) and I have improved vastly. I want to thank Dr. Ahn and his team for everything, from pre-op to post-op, especially the recommendation for my occupational therapy.
Richard Ahn, MD
Dr. Ramkumar and his team (shoutout to Margo & Ishan) have been consistently superb throughout the entire process of helping me recovery from my injury (comprised of: ACL tear, lateral meniscus tear, & MCL sprain), which isn’t a surprise because even when I first met them I immediately knew that I was in good hands. Him and his team are so responsive (I always receive a response either in the same day or the next day) that I wonder when they find the time to sleep. Dr. Ramkumar’s knowledge is both expansive and current. So much so, that he used Cameron brink’s surgery as an example when he was telling me about the LET procedure. My dad tore his ACL twice, and neither of his surgeons ever mentioned the LET procedure in tandem with the ACL repair. So Dr. Ramkumar enlightened both my dad and me on its history and results. As an athlete who misses playing volleyball dearly, I’m so happy and blessed to have him in my care team because he has a track record of treating other athletes as well. The day of my surgery was quick and smooth. Dr. Ramkumar met with me before I was put under to go over everything again, and did so again when I woke up after the surgery as well to make sure the brace was properly fitted and that I had all the instructions/paperwork. I had minimal pain after surgery, and I was even able to bend my knee to 90 degrees the DAY AFTER surgery (90 degrees was my two week goal)!! TL;DR I’ve had the BEST experience I could ever hope for because of Dr. Ramkumar and his AMAZING team ✨❤️ (The picture attached is from my post-op appointment on Halloween lol, they are always VERY professional otherwise)

I had two tears on my meniscus one might have been there for some time with on and off symptoms and one was more recent and it was effecting my day to day routine. When I met Dr. Ramkumar he was clear that the recovery time would depend on the severity of the tears (which couldn't be fully assessed till the day of surgery) and my ability tp follow the post op care instructions. The instructions are certainly more than your average day and something you do need to work at a little, but I can tell you I'm currently les that three weeks from surgery, I' already riding my bicycle and walking with out crutches and a brace. I'm still a few weeks from 100%, but I'm ahead of schedule because #1 the surgery went very well (Thanks Dr Ramkumar) and #2 I followed the Post op care instructions which is helping me heal. Each day is a little better. I'm excited to not limp anymore.

If you are an athlete or you have an athlete child, this review is for you. It can be the craziest experience when your kid gets injured. On top of all the emotions there's the inescapable reality of "what next" When the dust settles, the MRIs are back, and the reality of surgery becomes inevitable an even more important question looms: "Where can I get the best possible care?" My daughter received the best possible care with Dr Ramkumar and he's the answer. I strongly feel that if my daughter (elite level high school wrestler) had her primary ACL surgery done by Dr Ram to begin with, she likely would have never needed the ACL revision surgery that brought us to Dr Ram. Being traumatized by the last experience I knew this time around that I needed to find someone young, someone with modern ideas and applications, new-school and capable, works with athletes and understands those demands, and someone who specializes in knees day in and day out. With athletes, the timeline is crucial. Within one day of my girl's re-injury my friend reached out to Dr Ramkumar's NP with a Homie Hookup request and by 10 pm that same night Dr Ram had personally reached out to me by email and said verbatim, "I will see you soon and fix this problem. Happy to help...I can see you before the MRI" Please tell me what doctor on planet earth takes their own time to reach out after hours and is like 'hey don't worry I'm gonna fix your kid?' That's incredible. I looked into him at that point and his qualifications are ridiculously excellent. Like okay Overachiever, leave some accolades for the rest of the people. But that's exactly what we needed. Within 3 weeks of her injury date she was on his operating table. He decided to do this so that she could be ready for the next wrestling season. He had spoken to her personally about her goals and that led him to help us push through red tape to get this done ASAP. His beside manner for a surgeon is pretty impeccable. But here's the craziest part. Her surgery randomly ended up getting pushed for many hours at the surgical center that day. He could've canceled her but instead he honored his word and did the surgery which started at like 9 pm! He even called me from the OR to explain how he was needing to go in and fix some things from her previous surgery, that's why it was taking a little longer and basically not to worry. I felt so in the loop and like she was truly in the best hands. He did ACL revision, LET, and stem cell therapy on her and he closed her up w the most dainty and technical stitching. Like he's basically a skin tailor, tffff The above is all a testament to his work ethic and his clear commitment to his own high standards of excellence. Now she's going on 2 months post-op, acute recovery was smooth and easy, Dr R and the PTs are all really happy with where she is and she could not have done this without Dr Ramkumar. He went above and beyond to deliver his best work. I hope you never need ACL repair but if you do there is nobody better in California to get in front of than this guy and his AWESOME NP, Margo! Boom! (I don't have any pics of them together but in PT she's a beast BECAUSE of his work!)

Dr. Ramkumar is a very professional and knowledgeable Doctor. Dr. Ramkumar repaired my completely torn ACL as well as both of my torn Meniscus from a sports injury. I initially planned to shop around for an Orthopedic Surgeon as I wanted to make sure everything was done correctly, but after seeing my first Doctor (Dr. Ramkumar), I did not want anyone else to do my surgery but him. I knew I was in good hands as he made me feel very comfortable and explained all aspects of the procedures thoroughly. He also has a great support staff around him who is also very knowledgeable. After completing my 4 month post op appointment, he was very pleased with how I had recovered by following his guidance as well as the guidance from his connected physical therapy department. If I was to recommended to a family member who to go to for any orthopedic needs, I would refer Dr. Ramkumar.

This was my second procedure with Dr. Port and once again his care was incredible. His attention to detail and follow up goes above and beyond the norm. You won’t find a more empathetic professional who truly cares for his patients well being.

Thank you Dr. Port. My procedure was one of the most successful procedures that I have had done! Incredible outcome! Incredible care and follow up. Thank you again.

I was dealing with hip pain for over a year and had tried PT and other forms of therapy to relieve the pain none of which worked. Dr. Ramkumar, after listening to my story and everything I had tried so far, immediately recommended and planned for my surgery and utilized my workup so far such that I did not have to redo any major imaging. The surgery was quick and I felt a night and day difference in my hip pain. Dr. Ramkumar was also super accessible, answering any and every question I had from pre-op to post-op and I would recommend him to anyone looking for comprehensive orthopedic care!

I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Ramkumar and his entire team! From my very first appointment through surgery and recovery, I was in great hands and felt truly cared for. Not only is Dr. Ramkumar meticulous and skilled with the actual surgery, he and his team are kind, professional, knowledgeable, and experienced in all that they do. I couldn’t ask for a better surgical team! They took the time to explain everything and made me feel confident every step of the way. They were responsive and thorough when I had any questions or concerns - you can tell they genuinely care about their patients. I initially injured my knee in January and had two subsequent injuries before I finally got an MRI in July that confirmed a full ACL tear. I had done a number on my knee. I was beginning to feel defeated because I am a pretty active person and wasn’t able to do the activities that I love, like CrossFit and volleyball. Once I met with Dr. Ramkumar, I immediately knew he was the surgeon for me. He empathized with my concerns of wanting to get back to my active lifestyle, gave me hope that I would be able to get back to it, and built my confidence in getting the surgery. My full ACL repair (BTB patellar graft) and meniscus root repair went smoothly and my recovery has been going amazingly so far. I’m already feeling stronger just 4 months post op and am so excited to eventually get back to my pre op activity levels. Many people are amazed by my progress! The pain was minimal even immediately after surgery, which was a pleasant surprise. Choosing Dr. Ramkumar was one of the best decisions I could have made and I would 100% recommend him to anyone needing orthopedic care, especially athletes.

Just so happened to stumble upon this clinic and get scheduled with the soonest available appointment and it was with Dr Ramkumar, I am so blessed. Being an athlete, I was training for a half marathon when my knees didn’t feel right..shortly thereafter my pain transferred to my hip, resulting in the diagnosis of a bilateral hip impingement, Dr Ramkumar’s expertise. Surgery has always been my last resort, but once Dr Ramkumar went over the explanation clearly and concisely, I felt that I was in good hands and immediately decided to pursue with the arthroscopic surgery. He explained my diagnosis in simple human terms that allowed it easy to understand and made sure all of my questions were answered. I was honestly amazed by how smoothly everything went and how quickly I healed, which truly speaks to his precision and skill in the operating room. Beyond being an incredibly talented surgeon, Dr. Ramkumar is also such a light-hearted, kind human who genuinely cares about his patients as people, not just cases. He took the time to listen to my story, understand my goals as an athlete, and support me every step of the way. He is such a caring surgeon, if not the most caring surgeon I’ve had, from pre-op to post op appointments, it’s always a joy to be in his clinic.

I had a total knee replacement with Dr. Prem Ramkumar two weeks ago, and the experience has been outstanding. He is an incredible surgeon—attentive, personable, and always willing to answer every question. My post-op pain has been minimal, and I’m genuinely amazed at how smoothly my recovery is going so far. Dr. Ramkumar combines exceptional skill with true compassion. I couldn’t recommend him more highly.

Very pleasant office staff. Dr. Lee was very thorough and nice. X-ray tech was aware of my limitations and so polite. I felt very comfortsble there and have follow up in 2 weeks.

My name is Ana Vega I don’t usually write reviews, but this one is deeply personal and well deserved. This is your sign. I was in so much pain before my surgery walking, sleeping, and even daily activities became a struggle. When I finally met Dr Ramkumar, I immediately felt hope. He went to Harvard, and you can tell from the moment he speaks that he’s not only brilliant but also incredibly compassionate and grounded. He took the time to listen, explain every detail, and make sure I felt comfortable and informed. When it came time for surgery, he repaired both of my meniscus with absolute precision and care. The results were beyond what I ever expected I truly feel like I got my life back. His patience, professionalism, and dedication to his patients are unmatched. What stood out most was how genuine he is. He doesn’t just treat your condition he treats you as a whole person. Every follow-up visit was handled with kindness and attention, and I always felt like I was in the best possible hands. If you’re ever in need of an orthopedic surgeon, I can’t recommend Dr. Ramkumar enough. He’s a true expert at what he does and a doctor who truly cares about the people he helps. I’m beyond grateful for everything he’s done for me he’s the reason I’m pain-free and back to doing what I love.

Dr. Ramkumar completely relieved my left hip pain—something I’d struggled with for several years. I’ve always been active, having played field hockey and tennis in my younger days, but the pain eventually became so severe that I could barely walk a couple of blocks. I was diagnosed with a left hip impingement and labral tear, and underwent surgery with Dr. Ramkumar. Now, five weeks post-op, I’m walking pain-free and steadily regaining my strength. From the initial consultations to the surgery, physical therapy, and follow-up visits, every step of the process was seamless. Dr. Ramkumar’s expertise, compassion, and genuine passion for helping patients made all the difference. I’m deeply grateful to Dr. Ramkumar and his team. Thanks to them, I can walk without pain again and look forward to staying active for years to come.

I tore my ACL, LCL, and medial meniscus during flag football and was referred to Dr. Ramkumar, I would recommend him 10/10. From my very first visit, he was straightforward, transparent, and took the time to explain my options while answering all my questions. I had surgery in February this year, and he made it clear that while he would do everything he could on his end, the real work would be up to me. Pre-op and post-op, Dr. Ramkumar provided a detailed plan to set me up for the best recovery possible. My healing journey has been challenging but very rewarding, and I’m grateful for his guidance every step of the way. The bottom line; if you put in the work, Dr. Ramkumar will be there to support you and answer any questions you have. I highly recommend him to anyone, regardless of your level of athleticism.

First and foremost I would like to give a huge thanks to Dr. Prem N. Ramkumar for the successful operation on my knee (3 procedures in 1 operation; reconstruction of the ACL, L.E.T. procedure and meniscus repair). Starting from the initial visits til the final follow up, he made me feel comfortable and welcomed. Dr. Ramkumar presents himself confidently as the discussions with him were very thorough and the explanations were clear whenever I had questions for him, from that I built an immediate trust and confidence that I was going to be in good hands. His PostOp Protocol is explained in detail and critical to follow. I was a bit fearful of beginning to train on bending the knee, as instructed, because of the pain just days after surgery, but he gave me a piece of mind and reassured that it is part of the process. With discipline and determination I progressed positively well during my rehab. Again thank you Dr. Ramkumar for your expertise and critical services on bringing me back to the field and enjoying the sport that I love, soccer.
