I would recommend Dr Millstein to EVERYBODY. I am a Krav Maga instructor and use my shoulder daily. My choice for a great doctor, was a must. When I dislocated my shoulder Dr. Millstein recommended multiple options prior to me having surgery. Dr. Millstein was very descriptive of the procedure, provided pictures of the surgery, explained the recovery period and honest time line to full recovery. The operating room was top notch and made me feel comfortable. After surgery, Dr. Millstein personally called me the following day to make sure I was doing well. The follow up from suggesting a Physical Therapist, and checking up on me during the recovery was EXCEPTIONAL. One year later, I am doing muscle-ups, sparring, and hand stand push-ups. My shoulder is stronger now than it was prior to surgery. If you are going to see any orthopedics specialist, Dr. Millstein is the BEST in LA.

I had some severe pain in my knee after running so I decided to go see Dr. Millstein.I called the day before and got an appointment right away. His facilities are state-of-the-art and flawlessly clean. What I like about Dr. Millstein is that he took the time to explain why my injury was not severe and was not quick to suggest or recommend in x-ray or MRI in order to save me money. I definitely highly recommend Dr. Millstein should you have any need to see a specialist. He is very professional, cares about his patients and definitely knows what he's talking about. He will shoot you straight and his facilities are top notch. you will not be disappointed!

This is the first time that I have written a review on Yelp. I was compelled to do so after receiving wonderful care from Dr. Millstein. I had a terrible experience with the first doctor I saw, Bert Mandelbaum, and asked family and friends for a new recommendation. My uncle (bless his soul) recommended Dr. MIllstein. My uncle had both knees replaced by Millstein and absolutely loved him. Side note: I later found out that my very good friend went to Millstein after a car accident badly damaged her knee and she raved about him. I called his office and had an appt within 3-4 days. I waited about 30 minutes, for which he apologized, but I told him it was not a problem after the 2+ hour wait I had with Mandelbaum. He noticed that I had a swollen bursa in my knee and gave me a cortisone shot. Problem solved. The pain dissipated and it never returned. I would recommend Dr. Millstein a million times over. He is smart, caring and great at what he does. He takes his time, displays compassion and figures out the problem. I went to a top knee specialist prior to Millstein, and he completely misdiagnosed me. I am so very glad that I got a second opinion. Millstein will be my first choice if I ever experience another knee issue. He is fabulous! Not only do I highly recommend him, but my good friend and and my uncle do as well. So consider this three reviews in one. Good luck!

I am impressed with Eric, his "bedside manor," his skill, and the clarity of his analysis. All excellent. A lovely office and capable team. My complaint is that Eric was over an hour late for our appointment, which, I was informed, is not atypical. That, if it is a routine issue, is not fair to those of us with other commitments and obligations. Either schedule fewer patients or at least call patients to alert them to any significant delays. If United Airlines can do this, so can Commons Clinic.

Dr. Millstein had reviewed my materials in advance, was on time, practical, straightforward and confident with his medical recommendations.

Nice new office space. Pleasant staff. Dr. Millstein answered all of my questions to my satisfaction. I didn't give a fifth star because I did not see the doctor until 40 minutes after my appointment, which I felt was a little inconsiderate of my time.

Dr. Milstein was cramped for time but managed to fit us in, as always (Sandy & Barry)

Wait time rather lengthy. Dr. Millstein felt he was wrong doc & was going to have colleague call me. Will really appreciate if that happens, otherwise disappointed. Dr. Millstein was very nice; sorry he’s wrong doc.

It's a very beautiful modern office with very nice staff. I just had to wait a little while to see the doctor. Hoping my knee shot starts giving me relief soon

I wish I had my mind sharper at the time. I discovered in retrospect that I was getting sick. There were more questions about a life and the timing around the operation with or without the perspective rotator cuff operation. I suppose I can formulate my thoughts and send my questions in later.

I love dr Millstein and the entire staff at commons clinic. My only issue is the wait time. I would so appreciate if the appointment time could be honored closer to when it’s scheduled. Having said that I wouldn’t trade this dr for anyone else!

I had a lovely appt with Dr. Millstein. Went in for a Frozen Shoulder. He is clearly knowledgeable and has a wonderful sense of humor. He knew exactly what to do and his mild manner helped to make the injections easier to withstand.

Came to visit for a consultation to better understand how I should regard an episode of weakness in my knee and got excellant referrals to a physical therapist for detailed follow-up.

I am very happy with Dr. Millstein's expertise. I am very UNHAPPY with the service. I have always had to wait to see him. This time was the worst. ONE HOUR. He needs to take one less patient a day. If he spends a lot of time consulting, it only makes sense he is going to throw off the schedule.

As an update to my original review, Dr Millstein contacted me, further explained my condition and why I was referred and I finally got the answer to the condition that had plagued me for 6 years. While my first impressions weren't favorable, the aftercare by Dr. Millstein definitely made up for it. My issue was uncommon so the doctor referred me to someone who specialises on elbow and hand injuries.

So back on January 1, 2013 I fell while ice skating for the first time. It was extremely painful and my leg twisted strangely underneath my back. Sounds like it hurt? Yeah, to say the least it did. I'm not a complainer and passed it off as a reeeeeeallly bad sprain. January passed. February came and went. March came and went & I still had considerable pain just walking. Turns out I did a bit more than "just spraining" it. So I sought the professional evaluation of Dr. Millstein. I am glad I did, we did all the necessary testing and diagnostics. His professionalism is only exceeded by his wonderful personality. He provided a Physical Therapy script and as I write, my ankle is much better than it was a few weeks ago. Thank you!

- former high level athlete - baseball player - had shoulder surgery at the Kerlin jobe clinic. Found millstein : felt comfortable - with his prognosis. After surgery , several months, had a problem as it wasn't healing right and tough to walk- Acl reconstruction - Came to see him for follow up to discuss - he immediately placed it on me. I didn't follow treatment etc, actively taking notes- to protect him from litigation. Rather then offer to look at my knee. I had a surgery 18 months later- to fix the issues, he must have missed. Nice guy but more concerned about the dollars - then his work or patient satisfaction.

Dr. Millstein himself is great and did a nice job in my surgery. In terms of schedules and appointments, I found the experience that others have noted on here to be true but i gave them that feedback and they did improve on it the next time I was there.

I think he's a nice doctor but the staff is very difficult. Calls aren't returned, very difficult to get an appt for weeks even when you tell them you are in a lot of pain. You are still forced to wait two weeks to see him for relief. They don't reserve any times in their schedule for that which is odd to me. They try to get you to have xray's before you have even seen him to discuss your issues and pushed hard for that even though no xrays were going to be needed.
