> Came in for chronic knee pain after meniscus removal 15 years ago. Dr. Millstein was candid, competent and clearly had my best interests at heart in recommending treatment that was consistent with my diagnosis. He wanted to improve my quality of life without "upselling" me into procedures that might be good for some, but didn't address my problem. He's a courteous, insightful decent medical professional. I highly recommend him.

> I just celebrated my one year post op from a major C1 - T2 fusion. My review almost a year ago is still on Yelp. My life has changed radically because I went in knowing that I made the decision to lose mobility to save my quality of life. Having wished for death from the pain I was having, I look back and know I made the right choice. Dr. Bae has walked along side me during this year. He has always been a straight shooter, (and I think some people might struggle with that kind of upfront honesty), but I find it refreshing. He never promised my life would be cake walk, but he said that regarding my pain, I would be at least 85% better. I'd say it's better than that. When I first had my surgery, he thought I would have tremendous pain post op. I had none. The only difficulty has been getting used to not moving my head like I did. But honestly, those who know me would tell you I used to lay in bed all the time I wasn't working not being able to face another day. I will take this life instead. Next month I am starting to deal with my low back, as I have put that off for a long time. There is no one else I would trust with my care. I find Dr. Bae to be the most intelligent and sharp surgeon I've ever met, and I have met many. I continue to find his diagnostic skills second to none. I find him to be caring, funny, and personable. I offered my phone number to him for anyone who had to have a very serious surgery like mine so that they could speak with me directly. I still offer that. I am a very busy person, and I continue to fulfill my role as a college professor in as effective a manner as I ever had at the age of 61. I owe that to Dr. Bae for giving me my life back. One year later and still raving about this man!!! Finally, his staff rock. They are all kind and helpful, and I have pestered them enough to where they could have been annoyed. They answer every question and are also kind and patient. What a blessing to have found Dr. Bae.

> I was hospitalized and in extreme back pain when I went to a Spine Doctor in an upscale clinic. We were assured by the nurse that we do not have to bring the MRI result from another hospital since they can pull it from their computer only to be told when we went to the clinic that they can't access but they can get the result direct from the hospital and will just call me after 3 days for the findings. We did not received the call as promised and after 8 days of getting a run around in the phone to talk with the Doctor, his nurse finally told me that the Doctor could not read the result. It was 8 days of more pain.
>
> I was so desperate that I just searched the internet and found a Spine Doctor Dr, Amandeep Bhalla. I have no Idea about him but it was God's answered prayer for what I found is the best spine surgeon in LA. I had a very successful spine surgery and after a few weeks started feeling normal again. Just having to be personally assured by him before the surgery hat I do not have to worry and will be fine give you a sense of comfort and confidence going to the operating room. He also sees to it that you are given the best service after surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Amandeep Bhalla if you have spine issues. He just not look at you as a patient but makes you feel important with personalize care.
>
> Thank you Dr. Bhalla, I will be forever grateful to you.

> Finding Dr. Bae was a miracle! I can't begin to list all the reasons why. He drove from Cedars to St. John and showed up at midnight to check on my husband after 5 grueling surgeries. I didn't think doctors existed who would go so far for a patient. Look up his creds, and if you should ever need spine surgery, count yourself lucky if you can connect with him and his amazing assistant, Lisa. Their expert work, kindness, and empathy are very very rare.

> I have been suffering from neck/arm pain for the past 8 mos. I've been to 3 different "experts" & no one would write a Rx for me to go in for MRIs...even though nothing else was working: epidurals, cortisone, meds. As a prior gymnast & dancer, I know my body & I know when I started losing the feeling down my hands & then my fingers started to get freezing cold, the problem was a lot more serious than the doctor I was seeing was seeing. I finally demanded he write ard for MRIs on both shoulders & my cervical spine & through some research was referred to Dr. Khurana - who, after taking one look at all my tests, reports, etc. said I needed emergency surgery or I'd end up with permanent nerve damage. I wonder - if my previous dr had listened to me - would I be in the situation I now find myself?
>
> Of course, we can't look back, only forward & I am so lucky that I was directed to Dr Khurana, who went over everything with me in great detail & explained the surgery so that even my husband, who doesn't know anything about anything re: medical terms, procedures & the like, completely understood & felt 100% confident when we left.
>
> The surgery is pretty extensive: Dr Khurana will be fusing my C3/4 & then totally replacing my discs at C5/6 & C6/7 & any time one goes in for surgery, especially anything related to the spine, it is nerve-wracking, to say the least. But everyone in the office - from the front desk to Amanda & Elaine &, especially, Dr Khurana made me feel like I was in the best hands possible.
>
> My appointment was on a Wednesday & Jessica, who schedules the surgeries, called me the next day & was able to get me in w/in a week - pretty unheard of these days. I go in tomorrow morning & have been told that, while the recovery may be pretty tough, I am expected to feel relief from the excruciating pain I've been living with pretty immediately.
>
> I can't thank the entire staff for making a scary situation less so.
>
> If you're reading this & have any issues with your spine, look no farther....Dr Khurana IS your man!

> Dr. Bae had a consultation with my wife and suggested that she apply for an FDA trial of LimiFlex for her condition of spondylolesthesis. She was accepted and Dr. Bae performed the operation. It was most successful. In 10 days she was driving and 3 months out she is a very happy person. It surely was a better option that the traditional fusion that others had recommended. On one occasion we were stressed because we had to wait to see him. We were completely de-stressed when he came in with his charming self on a day in which he obviously had a lot of activity.

> This review is long overdue from a very happy and ever so grateful patient!
>
> For the last few years, I was experiencing left hip pain, which I thought was radiating and caused from my back, since I had a longstanding history of low back pain. I took medication and waited for my hip pain to resolve, but to no avail. I soon started limping and couldn’t walk for more than a short distance. I was out of breath and short winded from the pain.
> Unable to stand, sit, or sleep comfortably. I finally decided to pursue it. I was suffering and it has reached the point of affecting every aspect and quality of my life.
> After getting x-rays and an MRI of my hip ,I was diagnosed with
>
> 1-End stage Osteoarthritis
> 2-Bone spurs
> 3-Advanced AVN=Avascular Necrosis
>
> Long story short, I definitely needed surgery, a total left hip replacement. THA-Total Hip Arthroplasty
>
> After the initial shock and denial, I decided to do extensive research to find the right Orthopedic Surgeon.
>
> I wanted a highly skilled hip specialist, one who had done lots and lots of hip replacement surgeries, not an orthopedic surgeon who does all kinds of procedures and had done only a few hip surgeries.
>
> I also wanted a surgeon who was skilled in doing the Direct Anterior Approach. (Muscles are not cut)
> Anterior approach means= Less invasive, less painful, quicker healing, and as an added bonus, a smaller incision approx. 2-3 inches. (A little vanity here on my part).
>
> Also, I wanted a surgeon I would feel comfortable with and I liked. Although, skill and expertise should supersede liking
> your surgeon. This seemed like a very tall order and an impossible task.
>
> I finally narrowed it down to three surgeons and scheduled consultations with each one. Unhappy with the first two surgeons, and feeling a little hopeless, I went to see Dr. Garabekyan. I’m so glad I did.
>
> Dr. Garabekyan was the one I felt the most comfortable with. I had already done my extensive research prior to meeting him and had read all of his stellar reviews from multiple, very happy patients gushing over their great surgical results. He suggested we try a conservative approach initially, rather than rush me into the operating room. Another point for him on his scorecard I was keeping. He was professional, and kind. Explaining everything precisely, patiently, and clearly. He put me at ease, and I was ready to proceed with my surgery. I knew I had finally found my surgeon.
>
> Surgery was on 2/25/19. I was released from the hospital the following day, standing, walking, and was on my way to recovery. Within a few days I felt the preoperative pain and agony gone, it had disappeared. What I was feeling was surgical pain. I was willing to endure this pain, because I knew well, it would be temporary.
>
> With a few short weeks, I felt much better. I’ve been feeling fantastic for weeks now. Never better!!
>
> Dr. Garabekyan gave me a new lease on life. I’m a new person. I smile more, I’m happier, and no longer limp and most importantly I am PAIN FREE!!!
>
> His assistant Zohra is awesome. She’s helpful, nice, and professional. From my first office visit till now, she’s been great. I can always count on her.
>
> If you or someone you know is suffering from hip pain, I urge you to go see Dr. Garabekyan. He is a humble gem, and down to earth,. This man doesn’t possess an ounce of arrogance. BUT most importantly, he’s very highly skilled and he truly takes pride in his profession. He will do everything in his power to give you the best surgical outcome.
>
> Thank you, thank you, thank you, Dr. Garabekyan. May you live a long, healthy, and prosperous life and continue to bestow upon us your surgical expertise and gift.

> I have been in pain and misdiagnosed for 16 years (I’m now 42) and I even had an unnecessary back surgery 11 years ago thinking that was the cause of my pain. Last June 2018, after zip lining on vacation, it became very apparent that my pain was coming from my hips because I could barely walk. This time around I did my due-diligence and after an MRI showed severe hip dysplasia in both hips, I saw 5 orthopedic surgeons. The first three doctors basically said I needed to wait until it was bone on bone to have a hip replacement. They all said I might find some relief with PRP, pain meds and PT, but that I was to basically suffer until I would qualify for a replacement. I absolutely would not accept that reality. I was 41 years old (at the time) with a 6 year old child living in what felt like an 80 year olds body. I was referred to one of the best hip replacement doctors in the country and after examining my x-rays he determined I needed a hip preservation surgery (PAO). It sounded fantastic until I saw the pamphlet. It looked so extremely scary and I wasn’t sure I could go through something so invasive. That doctor referred me to Dr Garabekyan, which was a life changing moment for me. After meeting with Dr G (as most call him) I immediately trusted him. He sat with me for almost an hour answering any and all questions I could think of. He was extremely honest with everything, the procedure, and what exactly I was going to endure. I was scared, but I knew in my gut I needed this PAO surgery. The recovery was intense and everything about it frightened me, but Dr G always made me feel at ease. He was always accessible to me from day 1. Whether it was some random question or a serious concern, he would get back to me immediately. November 26, 2018, was the first day of the rest of my life. I tell Dr G all the time that he saved my life. After months of intense physical therapy and doing exactly what I was told to do, 6 months later, I am almost pain free. This is what my life had been missing. I had been suffering all of these years because no one ever suggested an MRI of my hip. It’s still undetermined whether I’ll need surgery on the opposite hip, but Dr G was a God-send to me. I lost hope and thought I would just live in pain and succumb to pain pills for the rest of my life, and now, for the first time in years, I haven’t taken any opioid for pain several days in a row. I owe everything to Dr Garabekyan and wouldn’t change a thing (except the chance to do the surgery sooner) if I had the chance. Not only a terrific surgeon, but his bed side manner and team are top-notch. Without a bat of an eye, I would highly recommend Dr Garabekyan for any hip related injuries. Guaranteed, you will be in the BEST hands possible!
