Among The MOST professional, precise, thorough, attentive, kind doctors I've been treated by in my life, and my experience with him dates back 18 years when I had my first cervical fusion. Dr. Port's communication skills are exceptional. He bedside manner is comforting and he explains in detail every step that he will be taking, even as he's taking them! Having had 3 surgeries with him (and due to congenital issues, probably soon to be a 4th), as well as several procedures/injections that pre-dated the surgeries, I feel that he is truly in a class by himself. Having moved back east to Portland, Maine three years ago and starting to experience new issues with my back, rather than working with some of the wonderful doctors in Portland I flew back to see Dr. Port and my equally wonderful neurosurgeon, Dr Sanjay Khurana. Dr. Port works with an exceptional group of doctors in a remarkable facility where everyone is friendly and caring, from reception and billing to the extraordinary care I have always received. This morning, Saturday, two weeks after my procedure, I received my 3rd message from him checking in to see how I was doing. Who provides that level of care?? Without question the most capable, professional and caring neurosurgeon a patient could ever hope for. I had my first surgery with him, a cervical fusion, in 2005, followed by a second one, a lumbar fusion in 2010. Going from truly unbearable pain which in both cases went on for months, following my procedures I woke up nearly 100% cured; an absolute miracle of relief. It's been 13 years since my last surgery, and my congenital issues have again reared their ugly heads. I flew from Portland, Maine last week to see him and was once again comforted entirely by his extraordinary kindness and understanding, his bedside manner exceptional as always, and I'm planning my next fusion one level up. Beginning with his office staff, Nancy And everyone else with whom I've had the pleasure of dealing, Dr. Khurana's practice practice is second to none. Exceptional, compassionate care! Dr. Khurana is a patient, kind, wildly competent surgeon. He instills confidence. Many great surgeons lack bedside manner. Dr. Khurana delivers in all aspects. 10 days after 3 cervical spine disc replacements, virtually all of my major pain symptoms associated with severe foramimal stenosis are gone. I will be forever grateful to him and his crew. The staff in the surgical center were also truly outstanding. I’ve been told I can be a “tough customer.” I can tell you Dr. Khurana and company far exceeded all my expectations-which were high to begin with! May all the good Dr. Khurana and staff do come back to them in abundance…

After numerous epidurals and PT I came to the realization that my only remaining option to resolve my back pain was to consult a spine surgeon. After extensive research and review, Dr. Hyun Bae jumped to the top of my list. What a great find! Dr. Bae was warm, friendly, down to earth and exuded a tremendous amount of confidence. After reviewing my MRI he indicated that he could help me, but it would involve surgery. No problem, as that was what I expected. He explained what he would do while pointing that out on my MRI. He used the words, 'easy peasy" to describe what needed to be done. Easy for him to say, but in reality it was a minimally invasive procedure. I felt totally comfortable with him. I might add that every person whom I can in contact with at Cedars-Sinai or the Spine Institute was extremely friendly, helpful and professional. I cannot recommend Dr. Bae highly enough. Thank you, Dr. Bae.
