He understood my needs & was quick to recommend & prescribe what I need.
Eric S. Millstein, MD
Came to visit for a consultation to better understand how I should regard an episode of weakness in my knee and got excellant referrals to a physical therapist for detailed follow-up.

Dr Khurana is an excellent surgeon. He's always late, but his work is outstanding. The problem (which is why we are giving a 2 star rating) is his office staff. Especially his surgery scheduler and workers compensation person. She never answers the phone nor returns any phone calls. This is not only a problem for patients, but for attorneys and other doctors as well. This creates frustration on the part of patients in pain because they can't get the necessary treatment. They feel as though they're not important at all-it is obvious the young lady has no empathy and has been fortunate to have never experienced chronic pain. Therefore the doctor is useless because the office staff isn't allowing him to be utilized to his pote Update: Since the previous review, the Physician Assistant immediately called and got the ball rolling. The scheduler is now answering her phone, returning phone calls, and has managed to request and schedule a surgery. We much appreciate the vast improvements in service!

I am very happy with Dr. Millstein's expertise. I am very UNHAPPY with the service. I have always had to wait to see him. This time was the worst. ONE HOUR. He needs to take one less patient a day. If he spends a lot of time consulting, it only makes sense he is going to throw off the schedule.

As an update to my original review, Dr Millstein contacted me, further explained my condition and why I was referred and I finally got the answer to the condition that had plagued me for 6 years. While my first impressions weren't favorable, the aftercare by Dr. Millstein definitely made up for it. My issue was uncommon so the doctor referred me to someone who specialises on elbow and hand injuries.

A top notch surgeon with an excellent and highly responsive nurse assistant. Prior to surgery I was in the worst pain I've ever experienced. Following the surgery, I was completely pain free and remain so to this day.

Dr. Bae as a surgeon was great and we couldn't expect more from him, he was absolutely WONDERFUL! However stay away from his useless office staff. Both people at the front desk have 0 manners and are lacking in education (especially Hugo). They have no idea what "customer service" means and are absolutely obsolete and very rude. Every time we come here the wait is over one hour sometimes even two. The billing department is also terrible. For example, Hugo (the receptionist) says there is no charge and a month later we receive a bill in the mail and when confronted they claim it's an error. I think it's a scam to see who actually falls into the game and ends up paying more and more bills (dr. Bae probably isn't even aware of it). The only one in his office that was absolutely brilliant and always keen on helping is Lisa Cano, she and Dr. Bae are probably the only reason as to why we agreed on still coming.

Dr. Bae has been great. I had a lower back injury and participated in a clinical trial. Dr. Bae was my physician for all follow-up appointments for a period of 1 year following my procedure. I found him to be kind, direct, thorough and attentive. If you're looking for a caring, qualified physician in this field, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Hyun Bae, MD.

So back on January 1, 2013 I fell while ice skating for the first time. It was extremely painful and my leg twisted strangely underneath my back. Sounds like it hurt? Yeah, to say the least it did. I'm not a complainer and passed it off as a reeeeeeallly bad sprain. January passed. February came and went. March came and went & I still had considerable pain just walking. Turns out I did a bit more than "just spraining" it. So I sought the professional evaluation of Dr. Millstein. I am glad I did, we did all the necessary testing and diagnostics. His professionalism is only exceeded by his wonderful personality. He provided a Physical Therapy script and as I write, my ankle is much better than it was a few weeks ago. Thank you!

Really strong first impressions. Easy to park. Warmly greeted by the staff when I arrived. Comfortable waiting room. They were ahead of schedule and got me in early. Every person I met was warm and professional, and excellent at their job. Had a great meeting with the doctor. However, my last conversation was with someone who was going to follow up with me the following day to schedule my surgery. That was a week ago, and I never heard back from their office. In summary, the in person experience was excellent. The follow up, not so much.

I had meniscus knee surgery, and I have no doubt that Dr Ramkumar is a skilled surgeon and he did fix my torn meniscus. However, I did not appreciate his bedside manner. He answered most of my questions by referring me to his website. He never came to check on me after the surgery; instead, he gave me a phone call late that evening?! When I told him I didn’t want opioids for pain because they make me very nauseous, he walked away with an attitude, saying, 'Okay, then you'll be in pain.' The most frustrating part of this experience, however, was dealing with his scheduling nurse, Jessica. She took her time processing paperwork, causing delays, and repeatedly blaming it on my insurance (when in fact my insurance was approving referrals promptly). I was in pain, my torn meniscus was preventing my knee from fully extending, and I was unable to work. Dr. Ramkumar had offered to schedule the surgery within two weeks and said Jessica would call me on Monday. Jessica never called me on Monday. When I reached her on Tuesday morning, she told me I would have to wait until she got to my file. She processed it later that afternoon, and it was approved by my insurance on Thursday. Yet, Jessica didn't follow up until Monday, and the delays just continued. I didn’t know what to do, so I emailed Dr. Ramkumar for help, but he just referred me back to Jessica. This continued after my surgery and also delayed my rehab by two weeks. I had my surgery in 3 weeks (instead of 2), and that was only because I kept urging things and reaching out to ensure Jessica did her job. It was very stressful and it wasn' t a good experience overall.

Wonderful Staff.

I loved Dr. Combs, he has been my orthopedic for many years, I was there in October after waiting 1 month for an appointment and he gave me a cortisone shot on my knee, didn’t help at all so I call back to go see him again and on a very rudeness way they told me they don’t except my insurance any more, then I got a letter from my insurance saying that I could see him until December 31St. They cut me out because in the office they are all rude. I hope this gets to Dr. Combs Desk… This is now January 2023, I couldn’t walk with so much pain, went to see another orthopedic that took X-ray exactly like the technician did on Dr. Combs offices and I had a tear on the meniscus. Surgery was a success… Dr. Christopher Combs is a great doctor everyone that works for him in Lakewood’s offices are very unprofessional…

I was seen 2 hours after my appointment time, One of the front office women was apologetic, but another was abrupt and dismissive, and said she didn’t know he was running so late. When I finally saw Dr Khurana, he told me he could fix my problem, he does it several times a week and reviewed the process. I was so irate at the long wait that the visit was not productive. He was referred to me by an orthopedist who I like and trust, so I do not doubt his skills. But I do want to go to an efficient office. Dr Khurana did call and apologize for the long wait which was appreciated

- former high level athlete - baseball player - had shoulder surgery at the Kerlin jobe clinic. Found millstein : felt comfortable - with his prognosis. After surgery , several months, had a problem as it wasn't healing right and tough to walk- Acl reconstruction - Came to see him for follow up to discuss - he immediately placed it on me. I didn't follow treatment etc, actively taking notes- to protect him from litigation. Rather then offer to look at my knee. I had a surgery 18 months later- to fix the issues, he must have missed. Nice guy but more concerned about the dollars - then his work or patient satisfaction.

Office communication is poor. Instead of getting a live person, you get a recording that says to leave a message. Then, "If we don't call you back in an hour, call again." I called again in two hours and got the same message. This has happened multiple times. The first line of contact should not be no contact! And disconcerting if one is in pain and hoping for treatment sooner, rather than later. Dr. Estess, herself, is personable and gave me brief explanations of what could be done. I would have preferred more detailed explanations/descriptions. I was set up for an MRI, but no appointment to return and discuss. I had to call back and go around the "message system" to get a follow-up appointment. All staff members were pleasant and easy to deal with, in person.
Allyson Estess, MD
Dr. Lee was fine and the staff was nice enough. But I'm done with the over-the-top Covid measures. It started with a temperature check, which has been proven pretty worthless in the fight, then the mandatory hand sanitizer, then the social distanced chairs, then the overzealous spraying of Lysol every time someone stood up, then the lack of seating due to the above Covid theater. I was told to walk to another waiting area, ON A BROKEN LEG because there were not enough socially-distanced, Lysol-covered chairs available. I was obviously more at risk of injury from the various "safety" measures. It's inhuman and the lack of actual scientific rationale in all the play-acting caused low levels of anxiety as well as doubt in the efficacy of this medical establishment . Plus I'm not sure breathing all that Lysol is healthy. It didn't feel like it.

Felt like he didnt really seem to really care how extremely painful my glute and hip tear are.

Dr. Millstein himself is great and did a nice job in my surgery. In terms of schedules and appointments, I found the experience that others have noted on here to be true but i gave them that feedback and they did improve on it the next time I was there.
Eric S. Millstein, MD
I think he's a nice doctor but the staff is very difficult. Calls aren't returned, very difficult to get an appt for weeks even when you tell them you are in a lot of pain. You are still forced to wait two weeks to see him for relief. They don't reserve any times in their schedule for that which is odd to me. They try to get you to have xray's before you have even seen him to discuss your issues and pushed hard for that even though no xrays were going to be needed.

OK, amazing surgeon. The BEST there is. Amazing hospital staff. Billing person is an idiot, and has the personality of a leather shoe. When a patient speaks with your billing person prior to a procedure and asks what the total out of pocket including deductible is going to be, you give them a number. Not an explanation. Speak a language we understand so that there are no surprises. Please, Dr. Bae, get a billing rep that speaks the same language you and the rest of your staff do; that of an experienced professional with a friendly, down to earth and hospitable attitude. Also, staffing at Cedar's office has to get it together. When a patient comes in a few weeks post op for follow up in immeasurable pain, do not make them wait an hour past their scheduled time to see you. This is not worthy of a surgeon the caliber and experience of Dr. Bae. I hate to give this incredible establishment only 3 stars, but sadly, the devil is in the details.....
Hyun Bae, MD
I have been trying to call since Friday using the numbers listed on Google and the website, but the line just rings and when the system picks up, it states that no one is available and asks you to leave a message. It is unbelievable that they provide contact numbers for patients, yet it is currently impossible to actually reach anyone on the line.
Brandon A. Ortega, MD
Weird staff that’s unknowledgeable about their policies and unable to articulate themselves in a clear manner. Will wait a long time to see the doctor with staff who just make the experience worse.
