Thanks to him and his team, I am a walking miracle. I had used a walker for 10 yrs due to a previous failed spinal fusion and with a bent metal rod protruding from my back. Dr Ortega and his team did reconstructive surgery on my entire spine and thanks to him I am walking without a walker and rarely using a cane. I am fully active and even go to the gym 2-3 times a week. I travel, go on walks, workout and am told I look 20 yrs younger! Im 79 and just getting started! He’s so down to earth, truly listens, and has an incredible bedside manner. From our very first appointment, it felt like we had known him forever. That connection is a bonus! but the real blessing was how well my husband’s hip surgery went. His recovery has been smooth, he doesn’t need physical therapy, and he’s healing great! > > What really blew us away was the level of care. At my husband’s post-op appointment, Dr. Ram told us that he had actually been thinking about my husband while laying in bed one night after a long day of surgeries. He emailed Stephanie late that night to get him in sooner—and even personally emailed me at 10 PM to follow up. Who does that? I remember feeling nervous, anxious and scared. Dr Ramkumar and his Physical therapy team all gave me comfort and hope and assurance from the first consultation. Dr Ramkumar made sure I received my pain medication once I had run out. He personally contacted me to make sure. It’s not every day that a medical professional who does what Dr did for me. Dr Ramkumar and his PT team instilled in me the confidence I needed from the beginning made the entire process much easier for me. I’m truly grateful for not only having a successful ACL/ Meniscus knee repair surgery but for the peace of mind that they all provided me throughout the process. Ramkumar, MD, MBA > My first appointment with Dr. Bhalla - there is plenty of free parking in the lot surrounding the building where his office is located and also on 36th street; the waiting area and patient rooms are very clean and nicely decorated with firm comfortable seating; office staff greeted me promptly in a friendly manor; the X-ray tech was calm, gentle and compassionate; Dr. Bhalla greeted me in a warm welcoming manor, he was compassionate, did not rush me, asked many questions and let me ask questions. All doctors should replicate Dr. Bhalla and his team. The only one slight draw back was the amount of time I waited to see the Dr. however he did apologize first thing when he entered the patient room. K. Minimal wait. Post op X-ray done, friendly X-ray tech. PA saw me first, did not rush and answered all my questions. (PA Bri has been very responsive via email in the interim before this latest appt). MD saw me next, did not rush and answered remaining questions. Back office staff will handle my work leave and EDD and PT prescription. Best of all, the unrelenting sciatica pain for the past 6 mos is gone. I did not wait to do the procedure, though I didn’t want to do it, and I think that made the difference for a good outcome. I have diminishing post op pain and increase in activity (6 weeks post op) as the weeks go on. Very relieved this is over and grateful for the good results. S.
