I am a Spine and Sports Medicine physical therapist that has been helping people with debilitating spinal pain. I only bring that up because when I had back surgery, he demonstrated good bedside manner, compassion, expertise and most importantly, I've been able to perform at a high level... lifting weights and being active with three kids 15 years later. > > When I had to make the decision on who to do my spine surgery at age 28, (I am 42 now) I went and had consultations by the best. I was a spine specialist at that time and went to numerous conferences, so those were who I reached out to. I had second, third , and fourth opinions. Millstein, MD > I had an L2/L3 micro decompression with Dr. Khurana in May, 2022. All things considered, I could not be happier...of course wishing I wasn't in this boat, I found Dr. Khurana and his office superb. Kind, caring, knowledgeable, practical...they put the package together well. At the outset, we had some small issues with getting timely return calls, but that issue went away once we got really into the process. It's clear (in a very good way) that they do this for a living and really, really, really know what they are doing...the issues I had were, for them, commonplace. I guess that's where a patient wants things to be. Physically, I am vastly better (I can walk more than 50 yards again!) with some relatively minor residual nerve issues in my lower leg. Dr. Khurana is, again, very knowledgeable, considerate, caring, practical and communicative about those issues...in the real world (again, of course, wishing I didn't have them), I couldn't ask for anything more. The entire team is terrific, and Dr. Millstein himself made me feel like were were old friends. Despite being obviously very busy, I didn't feel rushed at all. He took the time to explain my diagnosis, the upcoming surgery and the recovery schedule, and he answered all of my questions. I am only 39 years old and was very scared to have surgery, even though I was almost unable to walk or stand due to severe pain. But Dr. Bhalla did exactly what he said he could. I would recommend him to anyone. He has great bedside manors and is an expert in his field. I had neck surgery and had absolutely no pain and have had excellent results. Eight months later I had lower back surgery for my chronic Spinal Stenosis issues. Again, virtually no pain. That was last October and after three weeks I was walking two miles without pain and playing golf after eight weeks. I feel better than I have in years. Even back to coaching baseball again. (one in June and the other in December). We are SO incredibly pleased with the outcome. She is still in recovery and going to PT for her 2nd foot, but we can already tell that this is definitely going to increase her quality of life. Dr. Lee is very easy to work with and talk to. My daughter feels 100% comfortable with him and has full confidence in him. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Lee. Also, the office runs so smoothly and we love the staff there. I was introduced to Dr. Khurana after injuring my neck and not having any strength/extreme pain in my shoulder. This was a Tuesday afternoon around 3pm. He reviewed my MRI and knowing the pain I was in insisted that his assistant schedule me for surgery Thursday that same week and not wait until Friday. I had a herniated disk. It was in pieces. It was only one day but it showed a lot about the doctor understanding his patients and doing what needs to be done to put them first. He answered all my questions, was honest about everything I asked him, and most importantly made me feel like I was his only patient despite having I believe 4 other procedures to do that day. I didn't even get a 2nd opinion...this guy was so impressive upon meeting him my father who is a physician and I decided it wasn't necessary. I handled zero paperwork, everything is done for you, what a pleasure. Lastly, I was back at work 4 days later. I was back playing 18 holes of golf 5 weeks post op. No rehab was necessary. I simply cannot say enough good things about this man. I thanked him 1000 times over and its still not enough. I am back to normal life. Dr. Khurana is the absolute best!!!!! J. I had a lumbar laminectomy L3-L5, instrumented fusion L4-L5, fluoroscopy, allograft ad autograft. He also performed Sciatic joint fusion on me on Dec 19, 2019…Two rods and 7 screws later I am relatively pain free! He is friendly, compassionate and allays my fears prior to the start of any procedure. After the laminectomy, I saw him in the hospital the next morning at 6:45 am! There he was asking if the pain had subsided and it had. Post operative care provided more of the same compassion and general concern for my wellbeing. I have referred many of my friends, family and associates to Dr. Amandeep Bhalla. While I have so much care and admiration for Dr. Bhalla, I would also like to give a 5 star rating to his Nurse. Ronnie is a Breath of fresh air! She is kind, friendly and compassionate. She puts puts you at ease prior to seeing Dr. Bhalla. I have found that I can get an appointment quickly and once you check in for the appointment, Ronnie calls you in quickly and Dr. Bhalla sees you very quick. She found Dr. Garabekyan online and came to her dad and I (both physicians in Indiana) and asked if we could talk to him. At the time, I thought of the idea of going all the way to California to have the surgery was a long shot. I reached out to Zohra, who put us in contact with Dr. Garabekyan. He took the time to meet with my husband and I over the phone and answered all of our questions and concerns. He had a second meeting with our daughter to address all of her questions. We read his research and papers published on the CU-PAO and were convinced that he was who we wanted to do her surgery. With the way Dr. Garabekyan talks to his patients about the mechanics of the hip, we were assured that this is his passion and he is very skilled at what he does. Our daughter had a hip scope in late June of 2020 and her PAO a week later. Her recovery has been amazing and working with Dr. G was our best decision.
