> Dr. Prem Ramkumar performed FAI hip arthroscopy on me, and I can’t recommend him highly enough.
>
> I come from a combat sports background - Muay Thai, BJJ, grappling, and powerlifting - and years of that caught up with my hips. What I want people to know is that this surgery exists. A lot of athletes get told hip pain is just wear and tear, something to live with or manage until a replacement down the line. That’s not the only option. Hip arthroscopy for FAI is a real, minimally invasive procedure, and finding a surgeon who specializes in it makes all the difference.
>
> Dr. Ramkumar explained exactly what was happening in my joint, was realistic about recovery timelines, and clearly understood the demands athletes place on their bodies. I’m scheduled to have the other side done with him - which says everything. If you have hip pain that won’t resolve, get it looked at properly instead of delaying.

> I am 66 years old and played and enjoyed competitive sports my entire life up until 3-4 years ago. My left knee pain was consistently keeping me from enjoying things that contributed to my overall happiness and wellbeing. My wife and I could not longer bicycle or walk together as we always did due to my knee pain. My primary care physician referred me for X-ray and MRI, which resulted in me promptly being diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis of the left knee. I was then referred to Dr. Ramkumar and his team for physical therapy and evaluation. While the physical therapy did not resolve my arthritis, it was a great step in the right direction and I am very thankful to have met Dr. Ramkumar and his entire team. After 10 physical therapy sessions, I decided to proceed with total knee replacement after re-viewing imaging and treatment plans again. Within 10 minutes, he explained that my meniscus was completely torn and the cartilage in my knee was eroded and non-existent! He recommended a total knee replacement and explained in detail the preparation, surgery itself, recovery, and answered any and all questions I had. I was scheduled for surgery and was emailed information including emails of the process. I participated in an online zoom call with a registered nurse, who further explained my surgery and peri-operative recovery extensively. I was very informed about the things i would need like ice packs, medications, and more! My surgery was on 5/26/26 and I was walking the same afternoon and went home the same day which is a blessing. The first night I had difficulty sleeping as I had reluctance taking the prescribed pain medications, but after taking pain mediations the next day, my pain was managed and I slept perfectly. After the second night, I no longer needed any narcotic pain relief. I also began at home physical therapy on day 2 and I worked diligently to get my life back. Working hard paid off big time! After my 2 post-op surgery appointments with Dr. Ramkumar, I was cleared to drive and resume normal activities. It has been less than 2 months since surgery and now I can walk miles at a time, bicycle miles at a time, and swim as long as I desire. Thank you so much to Dr. Ramkumar and his team, everyone of them works cohesively together and answers any and all of my questions and concerns. They helped to make my surgery and recovery seamless and successful. While I hope to never need no additional surgery, Dr. Ramkumar will be my first call if I ever begin having trouble in my right knee and I have no hesitations that he is the perfect man for the job! I have already referred him to my personal friends and would not hesitate to continue referring him to anyone I know. I am back to all activities and excited to have my life back with no pain, as all my expectations from before surgery were exceeded. - R. Stuver.

> I had a hip arthroscopy surgery. I spent months in pain with no signs of recovery while playing soccer until I met Dr. Ramkumar. The surgery went well, the recovery time was good. The office was always paying attention to any needs. The Doctor was great and changed my life for the better. My hip problem is 100% gone and I feel rejuvenated.

> Dr Ramkumar changed my life. I was in major pain in my hip from arthritis and Dr Ramkumar diagnosed the problem and we scheduled a total hip replacement. The surgery went extremely well and I was back to riding my motorcycle within a week and a half with less pain than before the surgery. Highly recommend Dr Ramkumar and his staff.

> I owe a lot to Dr. Ramkumar! I had serious arthritis in my hip and was in constant pain. I did not want to give up the activities that I enjoyed, but one by one, I was doing less of them because of that pain. Dr. Ramkumar explained the whole process of hip replacement thoroughly and I made the decision to do it. This was one of the best decisions I ever made.
>
> Through information on Dr. Ramkumar’s website, a brochure provided by his staff, and a zoom class every step was explained. When I woke up from surgery the pain in my hip gone. Sure there was surgery pain as expected but that horrible hip pain was completely gone.
>
> I can’t say enough about how supportive Dr. Ramkumar, his staff, and the physical therapy clinic on site have been. I now walk everyday, do yoga, water aerobics, and just completed a three hour walking tour that I had purchased but had been unable to do as it was too painful. I feel I have been given an incredible opportunity. Thank you Dr. Ramkumar!

> Shockwave therapy was a game changer for my achilles tendonitis! After dealing with persistent pain that just wouldn't improve, this treatment made a massive difference in my recovery, mobility, and overall pain levels.
> A huge shoutout to Nurse Practitioner Margot for being so amazing. I was a little nervous for my first session, but she took her time to explain the process and reassured me it wouldn't hurt, which put me completely at ease. Highly recommend this treatment to anyone dealing with stubborn injuries!

> For over 2 years I endured terrible pain and the inability to walk normally due to bone on bone arthritis of my left knee. In October 2025, Dr Ramkumar preformed my complete knee replacement and did an amazing job. I followed his instructions and worked with his PT team with all the daily exercises. It certainly takes a commitment and patience but in time it all comes together. I'm so thankful to be walking normally again! It's an incredible feeling, I almost forgot what it was like. I'm now able to go places and walk at a good pace and for a long distance with no issues. I feel like I have my life back! I highly recommend Dr Ramkumar he is definitely skilled, my knee is proof!

> I first came to see Dr. Ramkumar because I was doing heavy miles and experiencing some knee pain and hip fatigue. He quickly diagnosed that I needed a hip arthroscopy surgery that would alleviate the pain and the fatigue. He did an amazing job in surgery and I began PT the very next day. I attacked the rehab hard with his guidelines and after 3 months I’m back to running around 30 miles a week preparing for a marathon! Dr Ramkumar is so cool and has been amazing throughout the whole process. I put a lot of trust in him and he gave me a lot of confidence as well that I would be back and better. Thank you Dr Ramkumar!! Much love.

> After my daughter injured her knee, we spent months being told she just needed rest, but she never fully healed. Once an MRI was finally ordered, we met with a local orthopedic surgeon, but the experience felt rushed and lacked compassion. That’s when I started researching other options and came across Dr. Ramkumar.
> From our very first appointment, we knew we had made the right decision. Dr. Ramkumar was kind, patient, informative, and never once made us feel rushed or pressured into surgery. He took the time to thoroughly explain her ACL and meniscus surgery along with the recovery process, which gave us so much reassurance during a stressful time.
> Her recovery has honestly exceeded anything we expected. She was off crutches at 2 weeks, out of her brace at 4 weeks, and now 4 months post-op she continues to do incredibly well with minimal to no pain. His physical therapy team has also been amazing supportive, patient, and truly invested in her recovery.
> We gladly make the almost 3-hour commutes because Dr. Ramkumar and his entire team have been the perfect fit for my daughter. We are beyond grateful for the care, encouragement, and support they have given her throughout this journey.

> So this is more for Dr. Estess’ services (as opposed to her office), but had to give thanks where due. Dr. Estess recently did an emergency procedure on my broken ankle at Marina Cedars hospital, and she couldn’t have been cooler.
>
> Friendly, knowledgeable and professional, she put a stop to the excruciating pain of that night, putting me on the road to recovery. Her staff was also super helpful re: next steps, thorough and responsive via phone/email.
>
> So appreciative of Dr. Estess’ time and skills. Her gentle yet proactive approach is what all patients hope for.

> I was “bone on bone“ in both of my knees and had been to see 3 different knee specialists over the past 10 yrs. Dr. Ramkumar was the first and only one of the three to tell me that a partial knee replacement was even an option. It was what he recommended, and he backed it up with my x-rays and a clear explanation as to why a partial vs. a full was the clear way to go. Besides his phenomenal surgical expertise, one of the things I really appreciated about Dr. R is that he “got me“. I’m on the chronologically gifted side of things (71YO), but he took the time to understand how active a lifestyle I led, and the things I wanted to be able to keep doing after surgery, i.e. motocross ride, snow ski, pickleball, golf, hike and last but not least - play with our 7 grandkids! I worked out for 2 1/2 months prior to surgery to get my legs in the best possible shape and to help with recovery. Post surgery results have FAR exceeded my expectations. I know every patient will be different, but I have not experienced the pain level I anticipated. As of this writing, I’m 2 1/2 weeks post surgery and have only had to take two pain pills, and I walked 3.1 miles the day after surgery. We went to Disneyland with some friends a week and a day after surgery and walked from 9am-10:30pm. I was tired at the end but no knee pain following either walk! I would highly encourage anyone to pay Dr. R a visit, especially if you’ve already been told you need a full knee replacement. That’s nothing to mess with, and a second opinion could be very helpful in making an informed and wise decision.

> I traveled from the east coast to see Dr. Bae on the recommendation of a friend in Los Angeles. I was so debilitated by spinal stenosis that I had take a wheel chair to the plane, fly in a lie flat seat, and be wheeled off the plane to meet my ride. By the time I saw Dr. Bae for my surgery, I had tried PT, shots, painkillers, prescription anti inflammatories--literally everything. I had missed family events including a wedding and hadn't taken a pain free walk in years. Dr. Bae performed micro decompression surgery. I walked out of the clinic and have been walking ever since. It's been a month and I'm averaging 11,000 steps a day. I am eternally grateful for Dr. Bae.

> Dr. Khurana "saved" the quality of my life. After undergoing 3 unsuccessful spinal surgeries from a highly respected westside doctor the pain was still excruciating. My Internist recommended I try Dr. Khurana for a 4th surgery. 7 years have passed since he operated and remediated the problem. I think about him often and feel blessed by his expertise and skill. As I near 80 years of age I am more active and fit than I had been a decade before. Thank you Dr. Khurana!

> I was having a difficult time walking, and surgery was my last option to try and give me quality of life. My current doctor suggested a hip replacement and referred Dr. Ramkumar, a specialist in total hip replacement. I was greeted with a smile, a handshake, and encouraging words to find the best option for my situation. He suggested the anterior total hip arthroplasty surgery assisted with MAKO, a robotic arm. His knowledge of the lastest technology and providing a detail explanation of the procedure could give a shorter time of recovery, was the best option. His meticulous guide was easy to follow from pre-op through post-op and helped me with a positive outcome. I was walking the next day, no limping, not in pain and a smooth moving hip! My appreciation to Dr. Ramkumar for being in tune to my specific symptoms and providing transparency to my specific needs.
