First and foremost I would like to give a huge thanks to Dr. Prem N. Ramkumar for the successful operation on my knee (3 procedures in 1 operation; reconstruction of the ACL, L.E.T. procedure and meniscus repair). Starting from the initial visits til the final follow up, he made me feel comfortable and welcomed. Dr. Ramkumar presents himself confidently as the discussions with him were very thorough and the explanations were clear whenever I had questions for him, from that I built an immediate trust and confidence that I was going to be in good hands. His PostOp Protocol is explained in detail and critical to follow. I was a bit fearful of beginning to train on bending the knee, as instructed, because of the pain just days after surgery, but he gave me a piece of mind and reassured that it is part of the process. With discipline and determination I progressed positively well during my rehab. Again thank you Dr. Ramkumar for your expertise and critical services on bringing me back to the field and enjoying the sport that I love, soccer.

I can’t praise Dr Ramkumar enough. In the middle of April I injured my right knee. Once I had an mri and a confirmed rupture of almost every ligament in my knee and some meniscus damage I knew I had a long road ahead. I was referred to Dr Ramkumar by a local urgent care and was able to get an appointment the following week. After doing some research on my particular injuries, MCL, ACL, PCL, Menisci damage I knew I needed someone who had the knowledge and the skills to successfully repair my knee. I did have some apprehension just knowing how complex the repair could be, but after meeting Dr Ramkumar and discussing the case and the plan of care I felt so much better. Dr Ramkumar explained my injuries thoroughly and also discussed how he planned to repair the joint, including harvesting some patella tendon, installing some aftermarket tendons, and even a full internal MCL bracing, I knew he was building my knee out like I played for the LA Rams. He developed a full rehabilitation protocol for my multiligamentous repair, and provided me with enough time to heal and get back to activity. Dr Ramkumar has a great attitude and always makes you feel as if you’re the only patient he has to see that day. He takes the time to have that conversation with you and ensure understanding. I couldn’t be happier with my new knee and I highly recommend Dr Ramkumar!

Dr Prem Ramkumar and his Physical Therapists Mina and his team provided me with excellent care. I remember feeling nervous, anxious and scared. Dr Ramkumar and his Physical therapy team all gave me comfort and hope and assurance from the first consultation. Dr Ramkumar made sure I received my pain medication once I had run out. He personally contacted me to make sure. It’s not every day that a medical professional who does what Dr did for me. Dr Ramkumar and his PT team instilled in me the confidence I needed from the beginning made the entire process much easier for me. I’m truly grateful for not only having a successful ACL/ Meniscus knee repair surgery but for the peace of mind that they all provided me throughout the process. Every step of the way , Dr Ramkumar and Mina Physical Therapist and his team were there for me offering reassurance and clarity ensuring that I was not just another patient but a valued individual and deserving of the best care. Their commitment to excellence and patient care is truly remarkable. I’m blessed to have had Dr Ramkumar as my surgeon and also Blessed to have had Mina as my Physical Therapist along with his amazing team . You all made the difference in my healing journey . I have never had a major injury up until a few months ago. I was in denial after hurting my knee while playing slow pitch softball, but when I finally got myself to the doctor it was confirmed that I had a complete tear of the ACL and lateral meniscus. After meeting with Dr Ramkumar I let him know that I needed to have him fix me up quick because I had a full summer ahead with my 4 kids. After our first meeting I was told to build up my quad muscles to assist in my recovery. 3 weeks after our first meeting I had surgery, and just 3 days later I was out walking around on my crutches to cheer my son on while he ran a mile fun run. Within a week my pain was gone, of course my body was healing so discomfort is expected. One week after surgery my physical therapist was able to bend my knee (without pain, but some discomfort) to over 100°! At 4 weeks post op I was walking without my crutches or my knee brace. I am nearly 6 weeks post op and I am walking normally and am eagerly and patiently excited to start running around and getting back to the old me! This recovery process has been unexpectedly smooth but I have done the work and am ever so gracious to Dr Ramkumar and his team. On the surgical table I asked his team to let him know I want to be able to run faster and beat my son in a race, so I’ll be checking back in with that verdict!

ACL Reconstruction & Meniscal Repair Success After consulting with several orthopedic specialists about my ACL and meniscus injuries, I ultimately chose Dr. Ramkumar—and I am so glad I did!! During my first appointment, his approach stood out: as clear, detailed, compassionate, and above reproach. He took the time to explain every option available to me, answering anll my questions, and immediately gave me confidence in his care. His entire support team deserves recognition. His Nurse Practitioner was attentive and reassuring throughout the process. The Surgery Coordinator made the pre-op scheduling seamless, and the front desk team was consistently welcoming and efficient. A special shout-out to the Disability Forms Specialist as well—quick, knowledgeable, and kind, which made dealing with the paperwork stress-free. The pre-op process was impressively thorough. Dr. Ramkumar’s comprehensive website laid out everything I needed to know—from the days leading up to surgery, to what to expect the day of, to post-op recovery protocols. That kind of accessibility and detail truly made a difference in helping me feel prepared and empowered. A few days after surgery, I had a minor concern and messaged his office—Dr. Ramkumar responded almost immediately, which speaks volumes about his dedication and attentiveness to patient care. Thanks to his clearly communicated physical therapy protocol, I am pleasantly surprised to be back to most of my usual activities just 4 short weeks after surgery. I never expected such progress so soon, and it’s a direct result of the quality of care I received. To Dr. Ramkumar and your incredible staff: thank you for guiding me through this journey with expertise, efficiency, and genuine care. I’m beyond grateful.

Dr Allyson Estess is my new favorite MD... and I've seen a lot sadly. Open, informative pre op that made me feel both informed and safe. Incredible knee - ACL and meniscus tears - surgery, thorough, she went beyond to check everything in my knee and found a tear she wouldn't have seen if she hadn't made the extra effort. my scarring is tiny and very impressive - still healing but I don't think it'll be visible to the naked eye. and she's got a sense of humour - rare in surgeons.

I recently underwent A2M injections in both knees after years of struggling with severe pain caused by torn menisci, sprained MCLs, and osteoarthritis in both knees. The procedure was seamless, and I received two injections in each knee. I drove from San Diego to be under his care and expertise with the A2M procedure. Even though it has only been one week since the treatment, I am already noticing significant improvements. I can now walk up and down the stairs normally, as opposed to the one-two step pattern I had to rely on before. This is a huge improvement in my mobility and a major reduction in pain. I am excited about the continued healing and grateful to Dr. Kamrava for his precise and exceptional care. His expertise has truly made a difference in my quality of life. I recommend him 100%! The quality of care is unsurpassed, I had meniscus surgery on my right knee 10 years ago and my knee has been 99% like new!

Dr. Millstein is great. I've been to him several times for both a knee injury and arm injury and have alwys found him extremely professional and knowledgeable, with a great bedside manner. He evaluated my knee issue (torn meniscus)and recommended a cortisone shot. It seems to have worked and I'm especially appreciative that he just doesn't jump to surgery. My only minor complaint is that I had to wait almost an hour but Dr.Millstein did apologize and said he was very busy.

Dr. Ramkumar is a one of a kind master of his craft. I can’t say enough good things about the man, but I hope my story sheds some light on his skill, character, & may help someone else who like I did, feels confused, afraid, & is unsure of the future before them. I met Dr. Ramkumar during the hardest time in my life, & yet trusting him as my surgeon has surpassed all expectations. I can honestly say his guidance and support have been the best experience I’ve had dealing with the US medical system in my entire life. I’m a 25 year old professional multi-discipline extreme sports athlete. (Cliff Jumping, Surfing, Snowboarding, Parkour, Freediving, etc.) This year, after over a decade of training, I suffered the worst injury of my career. I fully tore BOTH my ACLs (and a bit of meniscus). The tears happened 3 months apart & although I had an MRI, the first ACL tear had been missed by a previous physician which is what eventually led to the other knee getting injured in the same way. When I walked into Dr. Ramkumars office to get the second knee injury looked at he felt both of my knees by hand and without even seeing the MRI yet, told me he was confident I had torn both. After looking at my MRIs he immediately spotted the tears. He’s new, but he’s cutting edge, doing techniques that a lot of the older surgeons aren’t, because they’re more comfortable with the techniques they learned back in the day. He broke down my injury & the details of my recommended surgery in English instead of usual medical jargon, told me with confidence he could get me back to being an elite athlete again, & I’ll never forget what he said after suggesting the patellar tendon graph… “listen man this is the Ferrari of ACL replacement surgeries. I’m gonna fix you up” Since then Dr. Ramkumar has been attentive & invested in my successful recovery. Texting me with updates, checking in every week & giving me loads of advice. Since I’m one of the few Bi lateral ACL tear patients around, (meaning I tore both at the same time) he went the extra mile to consult colleagues in the east coast with more experience to make sure he had as much information as possible before recommending anything to me. I have felt confident in every choice he’s made, I’ve now done the first surgery, and am already a week ahead of my recovery timeline, 20 days post surgery I’m walking around semi-normal, 90° flexation, full extension/toe touching, and getting exponentially better each day. I have no doubt that in proper time & consistent PT I will be back to the level I was before any of this. I couldn’t recommend someone higher if you’re suffering from a hip or knee injury, especially if you’re an athlete where a full 100% recovery is vital to pursuing your passion & returning to what you love most in the world.

I have been a patient of Dr.Combs for years. He repaired my meniscus in my right knee around 2006, then I tore it again. He put symzisc1 in my knee it lasted about 7 years. Recently he put Durlane in my knee didn't help. The staff got me an MRI in a week and waiting to see what is next. Dr. Combs is a get listener and honest.

Dr. Millstein is patient, thorough, and thoughtful in his approach. He spends the time to explain what your issues are and the options for solving them. I have had two completely successful surgeries in the past with him (achilles tendon and meniscus), yet with my current injury he is advocating non-surgical approaches first. Highly recommend.

Simply the Best!! A superstar surgeon. Very professional, extremely personable and an all around nice guy. He explained everything to me upfront. He's a super smart guy who makes you feel comfortable and in good hands. My meniscus surgery was a breeze and painless. I wish I could give him a 100 star rating on this app. He is the Best!

I just had my pre op apt with Dr Millstine, he is absolutely amazing. Was very thorough and honest on how he felt about my knee injury. I have a torn ACL and Meniscus. He gave me two scenarios as to what will happen during surgery, I feel very confident with both. Drs office is clean and beautiful, staff is very sweet and very helpful. I highly recommend him to anyone having Orthopaedic issues.

Came in for chronic knee pain after meniscus removal 15 years ago. Dr. Millstein was candid, competent and clearly had my best interests at heart in recommending treatment that was consistent with my diagnosis. He wanted to improve my quality of life without "upselling" me into procedures that might be good for some, but didn't address my problem. He's a courteous, insightful decent medical professional. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Millstein is a no nonsense orthopedist..he diagnosed my arthritic knee meniscus tear after a CT scan with contrast....the next appointment was set and the appropriate Hyaluronate shot was injected. Time will tell of its effectiveness. "a down to business, doctor." He gave me some hope.

This is way overdue. Dr. Millstein performed surgery for me on 11/17/17. I had a graft replace for an ACL and meniscus repaired. His communication throughout the process including texting and calling me post op. was a big surprise and also very helpful. Not all surgeons are alike. Whether it's their ability, or bedside manner, or communication pre/post op. you will see quite a variance between these types of professionals. Dr. Millstein nails all the categories and I am so grateful that Cedars referred me to him and that my insurance worked with him. I would highly recommend him if you are injured and need a great Orthopedic surgeon. Personally, I hope I only have to see him for follow up appointments and not another injury, but if "life happens" I would see him again.

Eric Millstein performed my meniscus operation so skillfully that I took nothing but Advil in the days following surgery. Four years later I can't find the scars that were supposed to last a lifetime, and have had no further discomfort in my knee. (I sometimes have to think for a moment to remember which side used to bother me.) Better yet, he's patient and communicative. I recently went in for a few mild sports injuries and was impressed by how unhurried and thoughtful he was in evaluating each issue and offering advice. He really puts you at ease. After my appointment I remembered something I'd wanted to ask, so I emailed his front desk, who called me early the next day with his reply. Bedside manner really matters when you're injured! Years ago a surgeon in San Francisco performed a tendon repair on my right foot. The surgery went well, but the period leading up to it and my subsequent recovery were punctuated by anxiety, due to the surgeon's penchant for answering only a few precious questions ("When can I start to walk?") before disappearing without warning for his next appointment. It led to some fierce arguments with my mom, who helped me get to appointments, over whether we'd asked the right questions in our allotted time. It was highly stressful, and made the experience of getting hurt all the less pleasant. On the contrary, thanks to Eric Millstein my experience was a positive one throughout.

An aged athlete who refuses to give up, I suffered a knee injury that proved to be a turn meniscus. After consulting with friends who'd had bad experiences with other orthopods who, though good doctors, forced them to wait for hours and in general didn't seem to care, I found Dr. Millstein. On my three visits to Dr. Millstein's office, I never waited more than five minutes. He could not have been more cordial and friendly. My operation and recovery went like clockwork with limited pain and discomfort. Two months later I am athleticizing in full swing, wondering if I'll start training for a triathlon. Life being what it is, and me being who I am, I expect I'll have another injury one day; and I won't hesitate to have Dr. Millstein deal with it.

I admire Dr. Millstein and his work. He took care of my ACL and meniscus after a freak kick boxing accident. It's been about 2 years and I'm good as new, if not better. I'm back to squatting, kicking, and doing Spartan Races! I highly recommend him for athletes who want a Dr. who understands your active lifestyle. Injuries are just as difficult mentally as they are physically. Dr. Millstein definitely understands that.
