Seems knowledgeable to me. Unfortunately I have stenosis in my cervical spine and we worked out a game plan as far as when we are doing the epidural. I also have issues with my low back that is next on the list. He gave me a lot of time on the initial visit, really listening. He even called me back after that visit to answer a few more questions. Multiple lumbar fusions, decompressions, reinstumentations, revisions, cervical disc replacement, the continuing care to get me out of pain. It's an ongoing process with severe degenerative disc disease but every level, every surgery is done with extreme caution and care, keeping what's best for me always in mind. I was diagnosed from my MRI with Sciatic Nerve Pain where my nerves was hitting my vertebrate at L4-L5, obstructing my walking, and standing, causing me to have spasms running down my legs, thighs, knees and to the bottom of my feet; I would have to sit down when they occurred. > Dr. Hunt performed a Laminectomy and in 3 months I was during physical therapy and recovered fast. A few years ago I needed back surgery and I got to the point that I could barely walk or do much of anything. I went to three spine surgeons for opinions and I left two of the offices amazed at the suggested treatment plans. One surgeon said I needed anterior and posterior lumbar fusion, the second wanted to send me on the epidural merry go round with a pain pump. Thank goodness for Dr Bhalla- he was spot on with the most appropriate yet minimally invasive surgery. I was thrilled that they had a robot assisted protocal and the added gift of having Dr. S Bhalla ( father) assisting Dr. A Bhalla ( son). I was in and out of Long Beach Memorial quickly, and from the time I woke up from surgery had no pain, no complications had no trouble with rehab - although the surgery was so successful my recovery was fast. Years later- still no pain, great range of motion, ability to weight train with no issues etc. > I am still amazed at the outcome - in addition Dr. A and S are extremly compassionate and caring. I wonder if the added positive vibes help with recovery ? This pain has disrupted my life, caused depression, anxiety, negated the quality of my life, where I’ve become withdrawn from participating in life, having lost my confidence and failing in getting daily accomplishments completed. > A week ago, my lumbar pain was a 16, (on a scale of 1 to 10). Because of the accident, I need surgery on cervical and lumbar regions. I opted to have the cervical surgery first. However, the thought of having this surgery did not give me any peace of mind. With time my lumbar spine pain greatly increased in severity, affecting my daily life and ability to sleep for 8 hours a night; (the pain would wake me up several times a night). Last week I had the first of two surgeries by Dr. Vokshoor; with Dr. Kamrava performing a lumbar epidural. The epidural results have been absolutely and instantaneously amazing. I hadn’t known about Dr. Kamrava’s successful work; and had anxiety and negative thoughts about the procedure. However, I did know enough to listen Dr. Vokshoor’s advice in having his trusted colleague, Dr. Kamrava perform the lumbar epidural. Post-surgery, it’s been 1-1/2 weeks and I have not experienced any lumbar pain. Personally, being pain free in my lumbar region is a miracle and I should’ve had this procedure over a year ago, but fear had held me back. (When experiencing severe pain, one becomes fearful and of the following mindset: if something happens during the epidural, (or surgery), then my pain will only become worse - … and I can barely take it like it is….’). Long-term pain is accompanied by any or all of the following: depression, anxiety and fear, loss of hope, anger etc., and more. I hope I have chosen my words properly, in communicating just how grateful I am to Dr. Kamrava, (as well as to Dr. Vokshoor). The quality of my life is changing. I have a lumbar surgery with Dr. Vokshoor on the horizon; and I can see hope and light at the end of the journey of surgeries. I will be able to move forward being structurally sound, say goodbye to chronic pain and with the precious time I have on earth; take my goals off of the top shelf and focus on them again. I came to him with "knee pain" but after being assessed and taking a few x-rays, he quickly informed me that the issue was not my knee but was actually my hip. I had seen multiple doctors in the past who had diagnosed me with arthritis in the knee and claimed that was causing pain that I felt. Dr. Ramkumar explained what the issue was, how the issue probably happened and the solution. I came to him with previous medical trauma and skepticism of the health care system. My experience with him has been nothing short of amazing. The hip impingement surgery went well and recovery was better than I expected. I was on a stationary bike the day after surgery and started PT within days. Pain level was minimal with the exception of occasional stiffness at the surgery site. I've been able to walk and recovery quicker than I imagined possible. I haven't experience any of the pain (lower back, hip and knee) that I had prior to the surgery since the morning after surgery. If you are someone who is unsure or confused about hip and/or knee issues, I'd urge you to see Dr. Ramkumar. He got it right with me the first time and I have seen nothing but improvements to my day to day and overall quality of life. If I have to undergo the surgery on my other hip, I would not hesitate to contact Dr. Ramkumar again. R.
