Dr. Ramkumar performed my right hip arthroscopy 10 weeks ago. I was born with bilateral hip dysplasia, which led to labral tears in both hips. I initially tried physical therapy, but unfortunately it did not improve my symptoms. I was then referred to Dr. Ramkumar, who recommended hip arthroscopy. He took the time to ensure I fully understood the treatment plan and addressed all of my questions with care and professionalism. Before the surgery, I experienced significant pain while sitting or driving for extended periods. I am pleased to report that I am now pain-free in my right hip. The outcome of the surgery has been excellent, and based on my experience, I plan to proceed with left hip arthroscopy under his care as well. Dr. Ramkumar is an outstanding physician, and his office staff are consistently polite, professional, and attentive. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking expert care for hip conditions.

I recently underwent hip resurfacing surgery with Dr. Ramkumar, and if I could give him ten stars instead of five, I absolutely would. From start to finish, my experience has been exceptional, and I am beyond pleased with both my recovery and the mobility I’ve regained. Before surgery, I was diagnosed with grade 4 chondromalacia of the pelvis along with severe tearing and fraying of the labrum. The pain and stiffness were constant and significantly limited my daily life. I couldn’t participate in the activities I love, and at my worst, I could barely bend down to tie my shoes. Now, just seven weeks post-op, my joint pain is gone, my mobility has dramatically improved, and I can already place my palms flat on the floor — something that felt impossible before surgery. The smoothness of my recovery has exceeded my expectations. While many surgeons list hip resurfacing among the procedures they perform, only a select few in the United States have the depth of experience and expertise to truly excel at it. Dr. Ramkumar is one of those few. His extensive experience, meticulous surgical technique, and use of advanced technology to ensure precise implant positioning made all the difference in my outcome. I chose to travel out of state specifically to have my surgery performed by Dr. Ramkumar, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. His skill, thoroughness, and genuine care are evident in every aspect of the process. If you’re considering hip resurfacing, Dr. Ramkumar checks every box. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Dr. Ramkumar completely relieved my left hip pain—something I’d struggled with for several years. I’ve always been active, having played field hockey and tennis in my younger days, but the pain eventually became so severe that I could barely walk a couple of blocks. I was diagnosed with a left hip impingement and labral tear, and underwent surgery with Dr. Ramkumar. Now, five weeks post-op, I’m walking pain-free and steadily regaining my strength. From the initial consultations to the surgery, physical therapy, and follow-up visits, every step of the process was seamless. Dr. Ramkumar’s expertise, compassion, and genuine passion for helping patients made all the difference. I’m deeply grateful to Dr. Ramkumar and his team. Thanks to them, I can walk without pain again and look forward to staying active for years to come.

If all doctors were like Dr. Garabekyan, the world would be a better place. My husband and I moved from Idaho for me to get treatment with Dr. G for my bilateral hip dysplasia and labral tears (scope + PAO), and we are certain that we could not have picked a better surgeon. He has completely redefined my outlook on healthcare; I never knew doctors could be this patient, involved, compassionate, and genuine. He is clearly an expert in his field and has been meticulous at every step of my care from pre- to post-surgery, always taking the time to explain, answer questions, and go the extra mile to ensure I feel listened to and supported. I have never once felt rushed or overlooked by Dr. G, and I know my family would wholeheartedly say the same. Surgery can be really scary to consider, but Dr. G will absolutely do his due diligence and more to make you feel supported and confident throughout the recovery journey. Despite being less than 3 weeks post-RPAO and 4 weeks post-arthroscopy, I am already so ecstatic about my progress and I can’t thank Dr. G enough for giving me a new lease on life towards a healthier and pain-free future. I also want to give my kudos to Schevonne, who is Dr. G’s right hand and assistant. She is so kind, responsive, and is incredible at staying on top of everything. She made all the technical and clerical parts of getting ready for surgery a breeze for me, and it made things so much less stressful, especially when dealing with insurance and needing to temporarily put life on pause. Schevonne’s absolutely been the cherry on top for my experience with Dr. G and Commons Clinic, and I really appreciate how invested she’s been in my ongoing care.

I had my second hip arthroscopy with Dr. Ramkumar in April 2025 for cam impingement and a labral tear - and I can genuinely say this experience changed my life. Having already gone through one hip, I knew what recovery could be like, but the second time with Dr. Ramkumar’s approach felt smoother, more focused, and incredibly effective. His knowledge, precision, and support before and after surgery made a huge difference. As of today, just a few months post-op, I’m walking 20,000 steps a day, pain-free - and I’m regularly doing 250 lb squats at the gym. My strength, mobility, and overall quality of life are better than they’ve been in years. If you’re considering hip arthroscopy - especially for bilateral or repeat procedures - you’re in the best hands with Dr. Ramkumar. I can’t thank him enough.

Exceptional surgeon — and someone I trust without hesitation, both professionally and personally. I’ve seen his work firsthand over multiple years, and his technical skill is truly unmatched. He treated my own sister for a labral tear with arthroscopic hip surgery — she was back to playing hockey with zero pain. That kind of precision, care, and outcome is rare. Salute to Dr. Ramkumar.

I am 14 weeks post-op, I’m thrilled to be gradually returning to the activities I love! Dr. Ramkumar is, without a doubt, the best orthopedic surgeon I’ve ever met—and I’ve seen quite a few for different injuries. From my very first appointment, I knew I was in great hands. He took the time to thoroughly explain my condition, answered all my questions, and was realistic about both the recovery process and potential outcomes. His transparency and attentiveness gave me a strong sense of confidence going into surgery. There was an issue with my insurance initially refusing to authorize the surgery, which was incredibly stressful, but Dr. Ramkumar’s office took care of everything. They worked tirelessly to get the approval without any delays, and I’m so grateful for their advocacy and professionalism. The surgery went perfectly! Dr. Ramkumar even stopped by afterward to check on me, and I was able to ask some last-minute questions. While I understand his schedule doesn’t always allow for this, I really appreciated the extra care. Recovery has been much smoother than I anticipated, with no pain at all. I followed his post-op protocol strictly and asked additional questions whenever I felt uncertain. Before surgery, we discussed my preference to avoid opioids if possible, but we agreed it was wise to have them on hand just in case. I ended up only needing two half-doses for the first two nights to help me sleep. I started physical therapy the day after surgery and followed Dr. Ramkumar’s recovery guidelines, including stationary biking. It’s crucial to remember that large potion of any successful recovery depends on your own dedication to PT, so staying diligent is key. Dr. Ramkumar is not only an exceptionally skilled surgeon but also a compassionate and caring person who truly puts his patients first. If you’re considering labrum repair—or other hip/knee procedures—do yourself a favor and schedule a consult with him. No matter where you’re located, it’ll be worth it!

Dr. Garabekyan was excellent! He was very thorough in his evaluation of my daughter. She is a dancer and with his experience he was able to reassure her regarding her concerns of returning to dance at a high level after the repair of her labrum and PAO. We are looking forward to having him as her surgeon.

Dr. Kamrava and I met a little over a year ago when my chief pain complaint was the left side of my neck. I have a complex history with injuries — I played contact sports my whole life like football and lacrosse, boxed in college, served in the Army, experienced a hit and run on my motorcycle, had multiple snowboarding/wakeboarding crashes, and to top it all off I had brain surgery a couple of years ago for Chiari Malformation. Basically, my body has been through the wringer and now that I’m 30 years old, the pain has caught up to me. Dr. Kamrava has successfully reduced my overall pain in the last year by about 80%. I was miserable when I saw him — I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t sit in my chair long enough to focus on work, and the future looked bleak. How was I going to progress in my career? How was I going to start a family and live my life? The pain was constant and it was so fatiguing. Dr. Kamrava stuck by my side as we resolved each problem in my body. I had arthritis in my cervical spine so we did a couple of injections and an RFA — this improved my pain by 20%. Then we discovered that my left shoulder labrum was torn, along with part of my supraspinatus tendon so we injected it with PRP — my overall body pain improved by 30%. The next thing we found was that I had a couple herniated discs in my neck, which Dr. Kamrava just injected 2 weeks ago — this helped SIGNIFICANTLY by another 30%. Dr. Kamrava brings confidence, optimism, compassion, and expertise to the table. He’s open minded and is always willing to answer questions. I’m not completely pain free yet, but I’m 90% there. Dr. Kamrava and Nora have been so great to work with. I would recommend this team over and over again. They really are out there changing lives. Thank you!!! Daniel

Dr. Millstein is the best. I’ve been seeing him for a number of injuries over the year. He’s great at diagnostics, conservative in treatment, and on the one injury that required surgery - a torn labrum in my shoulder - the recovery was fast and the shoulder is like new. Also a great guy. Highly recommend!

I highly Dr. Garabekyan and the staff that work there -- it is a welcoming environment and the office building is in a convenient, nice location. I had been having hip pain for about a year from a workout injury before I decided to go in. We did x-rays and I also ended up doing an MRI to get a closer, more detailed look at what's going on with my hip (it's a labral tear) and Dr. Garabekyan was able to describe to me exactly what's going on. I'm going to try doing physical therapy with someone he recommended and see if that helps fix the issue (fingers crossed). Otherwise, if a procedure is absolutely necessary I will be visiting again.

I have been a professional dancer for over 10 years. I do a lot of high impact movement and tricks. After about 2 years of chronic pain I finally decided to see a dr. My shoulder got to the point that I couldn’t even bench press the bar with no weights on it at the gym anymore. I was lucky to have found Dr. Garabekyan. He discovered I had a torn labrum in my right shoulder and said I would need surgery. I was concerned that my dance career would be over, but surgery was really my only option. Fast forward about a year and a half later( today) and I am pain free. I almost lose no range of motion and I am back to doing all my old dance moves. I even threw an airflare at practice the other day (if you know what that is) I would definitely recommend him, especially if you are an athlete. He is a miracle worker.

"Dr. Garabekyan is the BEST. He’s caring, takes time to listen to you, and is truly a gifted surgeon. I’m now 6 months post-op from a labral repair and back to 100%. Thank you so much Dr. G!"

My new Ortho... (traveled from Idaho) I am a very "active" grandma of seven... It wasn't until after vetting four different Ortho's that I choose Dr. Garabekyan. I had bi-lateral labral tears in my hips and was in a lot of constant pain. I went to some of the "best" hip surgeons in LA and Beverly Hills. I left their offices feeling discouraged and not very confident. I sought out Dr. Garabekyan for his Arthroscopic Labral repair techniques (no perineal post) and recovery period. From my 1st visit where the tears were explained and the specific details for surgery were given, I was certain he was the right surgeon. He made accommodations for a prompt surgery due to the distance I would need to travel. Dr. Garabekyan gave me his cell number and kept me informed all the way through the process. He was kind enough to share all the details a second time with my husband. Surgery day came, Dr. Garabekyan came into the pre-op room sat with us for 15 minutes, went through the surgery details again, which was very reassuring. Surgery (on both hips) went very well and I walked same day, that was outstanding! He texted me daily to check on my recovery!! Wow! I felt like a VIP! Pain management/recovery: I was off narcotics within 24 hrs. Went on to Toradol for three more days, then to Ibuprofen from there. I used crutches for 1 week inside and two-weeks outside. PT started with bike riding twice a day; PT w/therapist started week 3. My PT was amazed and impressed with my recovery and the techniques that Dr. Garabekyan used. I definitely did my part, but truly believe that my recovery is and has gone so well because of the skills and expertise of my doctor. I am 6 weeks post-op and went for a two-hour beach bike ride in Santa Barbra with my grandchildren even after walking the zoo for two-in-a-half hours!! I am thankful that I listen to my gut and did my research! All my pre-surgery pain is 100% gone! I am pleased to highly recommend Dr. Garabekyan for any of your ortho needs!
