Dr Allyson Estess is my new favorite MD... and I've seen a lot sadly. Open, informative pre op that made me feel both informed and safe. Incredible knee - ACL and meniscus tears - surgery, thorough, she went beyond to check everything in my knee and found a tear she wouldn't have seen if she hadn't made the extra effort. my scarring is tiny and very impressive - still healing but I don't think it'll be visible to the naked eye. and she's got a sense of humour - rare in surgeons.

Dr. RAMKUMAR too great care of me. I got an appointment to have surgery on my knee rather quickly. He noticed I had body art around the area where ACL reconstruction would be at and made sure to do his best work as you can tell in the photos you can barely see a scar. He also did thorough explanation of what the surgery would fix. He made it a point to also make sure I keep on track with my physical therapy and to always check in with my physical therapist to see what my progress would be. Dr. RAMKUMAR also took the time to explain how long the process would be how much work I would need to put into it and what his plan was to get me back to as close to 100% as I possibly could. All in all, Dr. Ramkumar is a great surgeon and I would totally recommend him To anyone that has any questions about any injuries to their knees.

Dr Ramkumar is a great doctor. He made my experience of having partial knee replacement as positive a process as can be. My recovery is going great thanks to him. I have been able to return to all my normal activities after 2 months. I have recommended him to friends and family, and will continue to do so.

I had partial knee surgery with Dr. Kumar on 12/26/24, and the experience went so smoothly. He made sure to provide me with my medications a couple of days before the surgery, so I was well-prepared. Dr. Kumar made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. Now, I’m getting my other knee done, and thanks to him, I know exactly what to expect. Thank you, Dr. Kumar, for your excellent care! Martha E. Cervantes- Mendoza

I had a total knee replacement with Dr. Millstein in April of 2024 and he and his team are superb! They are great! Although the surgery itself was my most painful surgery, the process of my pre-op, the surgery itself and post op were fantastic! I need my other knee done and I will have Dr Millstein do the surgery!! His office staff are amazing! So helpful with everything!

Dr. Milstein is the consummate caring empathetic, knowledgeable professional. I have been seeing him for my various orthopedic issues (knees, elbows, shoulders) over the last 5+ years or so, and he has without fail evaluated diagnosed and prescribed the correct treatment. Without hesitation I would recommend Dr. Milstein for any orthopedic related need. 8/27/24-I saw Dr. Milstein, accommodated me on very short notice. Once again Eric (he’s treated for so long I feel I can use his first name!) evaluated my issues, after fully informing me advised cortisone shot, I agrred. He injected smoothly, painlessly. He has had a great track record with of hitting the ‘right spot’ and I am confident he’s done it again. He’s that good!

I couldn’t be happier with Dr. Ramkumar and his team. My knee injury was by far the worst injury I’ve ever had. It was scary and life altering. I needed a complete ACL reconstruction (using a patellar tendon graft), posterolateral corner reconstruction (using a cadaver ligament), and my peroneal nerve needed to be separated and released from my torn bicep femoris tendon that was pulling on it, causing me to experience foot drop. I have limited medical knowledge, but Dr. Ramkumar has always happily taken the time to explain the prognosis, plan of action, and future goals to me without hesitation or judgement. I really appreciate his straight-forward answers, even when they aren’t happy answers. He has been 100% real and honest with me throughout the entire process and I’m very grateful for that. I am 13 months post-op and my knee feels great! After a year of physical therapy and diligent work at home, I am seeing great improvements in my foot drop as well, a sign that the nerve he freed up is healing properly. I definitely recommend Dr. Ramkumar for anyone who needs knee or hip surgery or consultation. His confidence, knowledge, action plans, pre/post-op care, and staff are top notch!

I cannot recommend Dr. Prem Ramkumar at Southern California Orthopedic Knee & Hip highly enough. From my very first appointment, he was incredibly responsive, thorough, and genuinely cared about my well-being—exactly how a real doctor should. He took the time to properly diagnose my hip impingement and guided me through every step of the process leading up to surgery. What stands out the most is his professionalism and dedication. Within just two months, I went from my initial consultation to having the surgery that ultimately saved my quality of life. His expertise, precision, and compassion made all the difference, and I am beyond grateful for the care I received. If you’re looking for a skilled, trustworthy, and patient-focused orthopedic specialist, Dr. Ramkumar is the best you will find. I had my surgery on 01/27/2025 He literally saved my life, others could not. I feel like a new human after the surgery

Dr. Leonel A. Hunt is a great Doctor. I suffered from chronic right lower back and right back hip pain for over 2 years and he fixed it. I was diagnosed from my MRI with Sciatic Nerve Pain where my nerves was hitting my vertebrate at L4-L5, obstructing my walking, and standing, causing me to have spasms running down my legs, thighs, knees and to the bottom of my feet; I would have to sit down when they occurred. Dr. Hunt performed a Laminectomy and in 3 months I was during physical therapy and recovered fast. His staff was amazing, especially Raquel, she took care of all of my employment issues in a timely manner. Thank you very much.

I have been seeing Dr. Kamrava for several years - he is wonderful. He gives me the information, advice, and explanations I need, and he is helping me to manage knee and back pain. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Ramkumar is a gem! Straight to the point, no fluff which is preferred when you have an injury. Dr. Ramkumar RE-DID my mom's original knee replacement which was the incorrect size, yes... the first doctor put in the wrong size! Dr. Ramkumar fixed my mom's knee and she is doing amazing! Don't get me wrong, it has been a tough couple of months for her, but the pain is now gone and she's walking great! He will be doing her other knee in the next few months. I highly recommend Dr. Ramkumar. His staff is pretty great too!

I am 14 weeks post-op, I’m thrilled to be gradually returning to the activities I love! Dr. Ramkumar is, without a doubt, the best orthopedic surgeon I’ve ever met—and I’ve seen quite a few for different injuries. From my very first appointment, I knew I was in great hands. He took the time to thoroughly explain my condition, answered all my questions, and was realistic about both the recovery process and potential outcomes. His transparency and attentiveness gave me a strong sense of confidence going into surgery. There was an issue with my insurance initially refusing to authorize the surgery, which was incredibly stressful, but Dr. Ramkumar’s office took care of everything. They worked tirelessly to get the approval without any delays, and I’m so grateful for their advocacy and professionalism. The surgery went perfectly! Dr. Ramkumar even stopped by afterward to check on me, and I was able to ask some last-minute questions. While I understand his schedule doesn’t always allow for this, I really appreciated the extra care. Recovery has been much smoother than I anticipated, with no pain at all. I followed his post-op protocol strictly and asked additional questions whenever I felt uncertain. Before surgery, we discussed my preference to avoid opioids if possible, but we agreed it was wise to have them on hand just in case. I ended up only needing two half-doses for the first two nights to help me sleep. I started physical therapy the day after surgery and followed Dr. Ramkumar’s recovery guidelines, including stationary biking. It’s crucial to remember that large potion of any successful recovery depends on your own dedication to PT, so staying diligent is key. Dr. Ramkumar is not only an exceptionally skilled surgeon but also a compassionate and caring person who truly puts his patients first. If you’re considering labrum repair—or other hip/knee procedures—do yourself a favor and schedule a consult with him. No matter where you’re located, it’ll be worth it!

I had a problem with my knee for nine months, and had been seeing another orthopedic surgeon who had misdiagnosed me. Luckily, I had the good sense to obtain a second opinion from Dr. Millstein. Dr. Millstein made a diagnosis in literally two minutes, and my knee was operated on about two weeks later. After nine months of walking with extreme pain in my right knee, I obtained complete relief in a very short period of time. Extremely grateful to be able to walk without pain, and extremely grateful to this excellent doctor, who did not even need to obtain any imaging studies whatsoever to make my diagnosis. As a doctor myself, my advice for anyone out there who is experiencing frustration with their doctors's diagnosis is to obtain a second opinion! Not all doctors know what the hell they're doing. And with medicine getting busier and crazier than ever before, and insurance companies less and less willing to pay for tests, outstanding doctors such as Dr. Millstein are becoming more and more crucial.

Dr. Millstein covered all the necessary bases in regard to my postoperative care needs in his specialty of orthopedic knee surgery. He also carefully examined the x-rays that his technician had just completed, and told me that everything looked good. He also said after he had me bend my knees and do some setup and stand exercises that I had reached the point where I really did not need to continue with physical therapy for my knees on a professional level at this time, unless I wanted to. He did encourage me to keep being physically active. He also referred me to Dr. Eugene Tsai for the arthritis in my hands and left shoulder, believing that Dr. Tsai could prescribe some therapy for those issues. Richard Mast, Los Angeles, CA

I went to Dr Allison Estes for PRP injections in the knees. She is very professional and knows what she's doing. I will continue to use her in the future for PRP injections and knee surgery.

I recently underwent A2M injections in both knees after years of struggling with severe pain caused by torn menisci, sprained MCLs, and osteoarthritis in both knees. The procedure was seamless, and I received two injections in each knee. I drove from San Diego to be under his care and expertise with the A2M procedure. Even though it has only been one week since the treatment, I am already noticing significant improvements. I can now walk up and down the stairs normally, as opposed to the one-two step pattern I had to rely on before. This is a huge improvement in my mobility and a major reduction in pain. I am excited about the continued healing and grateful to Dr. Kamrava for his precise and exceptional care. His expertise has truly made a difference in my quality of life. I recommend him 100%! Dr Bhalla spent time explaining my spine issues. He reviewed my MRI and made a referral to another orthopedist regarding knee problem. I felt that Dr. Bhalla gave me individual treatment and did not push any invasive treatment. His kindness and care of patients is obvious.

“I can’t recommend Dr. Ramkumar highly enough! As an orthopedic surgeon specializing in knee and hip issues, he is not only highly skilled but also genuinely compassionate. From my first visit, Dr. Ramkumar took the time to listen to my concerns, explain my treatment options in detail, and make me feel at ease. His bedside manner is exceptional, and it’s clear that Dr. Ramkumar truly cares about his patients. The surgery itself was a success, and my recovery has been smoother than I ever expected, thanks to Dr. Ramkumar’s expert care and guidance. Beyond being a talented surgeon, Dr. Ramkumar is just a genuinely nice person who inspires confidence and trust. If you’re looking for an orthopedic surgeon for knee or hip issues, look no further—you’ll be in excellent hands!”

Dr. Millstein has been my husband, brother, nephew and many friends' go to doctor with all their shoulder and knee issues. Having recently been dealing with shoulder pain I opted to see him for some feedback. Everyone had told me what a great doctor he is but getting to meet him and seeing his bedside manner firsthand made me wholeheartedly agree with them. Dr. Millstein took his time to go over my images and reports and thankfully told me that all I need is Physical Therapy (not surgery) to get better. He was very forthright, knowledgeable and welcoming and encouraged me that I can always reach out to him personally should I have any questions or concerns. Dr. Millstein really cares about his patients. It is evident from the second you meet him that he really is there to help you and not push for surgery unless it's needed. It is not often that I meet a doctor who is not only skilled in his expertise, but also a very genuine and caring person. Dr. Millstein definitely fits the bill! P.S. Dr. Millstein recently moved his practice to a beautiful and stylishly designed office in Santa Monica with breathtaking views. Honestly, it was one of the most gorgeous medical offices I've ever seen!
