Choosing a Spine surgeon is very important. Especially to select. the right one for you condition. Dr Khurana is certainly one of the most experienced and well trained spine/neurosurgeons. . Having been operated on by Dr Khurana 7 years ago, all my follow up visits have been easily made and each time received his personal attention. He carefully explains what the MRI or Xray or EMG test showed. Dr Khurana is not an alarmist and I appreciate that. As we all age, follow up is very important. I had to have another operation to relieve the terrible pain which restricted my walking. Now V it’s 5 weeks and I have no pain. Dr Khurana give me time when we are in the office and explains everything I am concerned about with the spine and related recovery. Dr Khurana is as good as any spine surgeon could be

I went in with a lot of right knee pain as a result of a fall on a hike. I had had an MRI but was scared and worried damage had been done. Dr Millstein appeared and went over results, fluid around the area from trauma. Gave me 2 injections and said it would take 4 months to heal. Nothing was torn nor broken. This was a relief. He was calming and professional, said he had experienced a similar injury, and assured me it will heal And pain will lessen. It is getting better. Thank goodness for modern medicine and Dr Millstein!

Dr. Bae has successfully removed three discs in my upper spine and saved me interminable suffering of tingling and pain in my fingers and hands on both sides! He is a surgical “artist”’ both technically and aesthetically. He is conservative in his diagnostic approach and careful to recommend all PT efforts be taken before resorting to surgery. I trust Dr. Bae as I have been through 2 surgeries and several consultations over the past 10 years.

I went to see Dr. Khurana to talk about the low back pain I’d been having but while I was there he wanted to get x-rays on the two cervical disc replacements I’d had done 3 years ago. He found that one of them was failing. He got me in within a few days, removed the replacement and fused that level, feels great now but could have been bad news had he not been on top of things and ordered the x-rays. His attention to detail is second to none and his team and staff are always incredible!! There is no one I would trust more with my spine!!
Sanjay Khurana, MD
smart.....detailed......explains everything.....shows you right on the MRI/CAT pictures what the problems are.

After years of dealing with chronic numbness and tingling in my arms, I finally found relief thanks to Dr. Ortega and his incredible team. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed, heard, and taken seriously. I had tried everything—physical therapy, cortisone shots, rest—but the symptoms persisted. Dr. Ortega took the time to review my MRI in detail, explain my condition thoroughly, and walk me through all my options. Just weeks later, he successfully performed surgery to replace three damaged discs in my cervical spine (C4–C7). I’m now just two weeks post-op and already feeling a huge difference. While there’s still some soreness from the recovery process, the intense pain caused by spinal cord compression and disc herniation is gone. This review may be a little early, but I couldn’t wait to share my gratitude. Once I’m fully healed, I look forward to writing an update—but for now, I’m just excited to be getting back to the active lifestyle I’ve missed for so long. Thank you, Dr. Ortega, for helping me take my life back.

The office is very clean & fairly new. Front office staff for appointments & filing of disability paperwork are extremely nice. Nurse visits for wound care - they are cautious to not cause any pain when cleaning, changing bandages or removing staples/sutures. Dr. Ortega has a great bedside manner in clinic & hospital. Surgery was scheduled to be a fusion, based off an MRI. An X-Ray was done in office & he found he could do a decompression vs fusion & gave me the choice. I went with decompression based on the possibility of issues with other discs down the road. PAIN: Has been minimal if any, including surgery. Elena, his scheduling assistant has been very accommodating with scheduling appointments, surgical approval & dealing with my hectic work schedule. The office has its own PT room. In the past 12 years of dealing with Sciatica, and PT, I have never been in such a nice PT location. The PT doctor & therapists are all very nice, knowledgeable of their job & make sure you are comfortable and not in any pain. Prior to my surgery I did a lot of research of spinal orthopedic Dr’s in my plan before choosing Dr Ortega. I highly recommend Dr Ortega if you are considering spinal surgery.

My testimony is giving God all the Glory for Dr. Brandon Ortega and his team. Many days I wanted to give up but didn’t! I believed God would heal me someday! It was 2012 when I truly started feeling the spinal pain. I was also experiencing joint pain! It began getting worse throughout the years. It was 2023 when I first met with Dr. Brandon Ortega who is part of the Optum Group. Dr Ortega is a Dr who took the time in explaining my condition. Dr. Brandon explained my condition which was, Cervical Nerve Root Disorder. He explained MRIs, X-rays and so forth. Dr. Ortega is just one of the many Drs. left in the medical profession who takes the time with his patients! Thank God. This has been my experience in such short period of time. Prior to Dr. Ortega, I saw many Specialist regarding my medical issues.I tried every Conventional Medicine and Physical Therapy to help relieve the painful suffering, I was dealing with. Not to mention years of depression. Dealing with the fact, that this aliment had left me drained was not easy. My health was rapidly declining. It was sometimes difficult for anyone to tell unless, I was having difficult days which kept me indoors. I was a silent sufferer! Dr. Ortega was honest enough to let me know, the only medical solution to stop the pain would be surgery. He discussed the procedures. I saw and read all the necessary information I needed to know and see. I sort the Lord on this matter. It was then I knew in my heart, that Dr. Ortega was the right Dr. in performing this procedure! I had my surgery on April 8th 2025. It has been one of the best decisions made. I am feeling 99.9% better in my life today. I thank God everyday. If do cry, it’s tears of joy! Anyone who has ever suffered from chronic pain can tell you, it will rob you of whatever joy you had or have. I’m am far happier than I have ever been. I’m slowly but surely recovering and getting back to enjoying life once again! Thank you Lord🙏🏼🙏🏼Thanks to Dr. Ortega and his awesome team at the Institute and Memorial Hospital 🙂

Dr. Wassef is my hero. When I was about 6, I was diagnosed with a somewhat rare condition known as Perthes disease. 24 years later I had developed advanced osteoarthritis, among other complications. I’m lucky to have had such a great doctor take on my case. It’s been three weeks since I had my hip replacement , and after all these years, I’m finally pain free!!
Andrew Wassef, MD
Dr. Millstein’s offices are beautiful and my wait time was short. He and his staff were welcoming and efficient in all aspects of my visit and my X-ray was conveniently accessible on site. The doctor listened to my concerns and explained the options. I would highly recommend Dr. Millstein.

I went to Dr. Port regarding an injury I sustained at work. I was seen, given an MRI and had all the important information sent out to all associated parties. Dr. Port took time to explain the process and gave me a prognosis of how to improve my injury so that I could return to work as soon as possible. I’ve been very pleased with Dr. Port and highly recommend him and his staff.

My daughter & I visited Dr. Estess to take care of my daughter's ganglion cyst. From the moment we walked into the office, we experienced a warm, caring, and superior staff: everyone from assistants at the front desk, the x-ray technician, Dr Estess' assistant, and Dr. Estess' herself. Dr. Estess took the time to explain everything to my daughter and me and to offer care options. My daughter suffers from anxiety disorder and while she was anxious in the outer waiting room, once she met the x-ray tech her anxiety subsided. She remained relaxed throughout the rest of the visit. We are completely satisfied with the care my daughter received and highly recommend Dr. Estess and her staff.

Dr. Lee and his staff were excellent. It was easy to make an appointment with Dr. Lee. I received an appointment reminder by text and on the day of my visit I did not have to wait long at all to be taken back for my foot X-rays. Dr. Lee is very kind, attentive and professional. I have already recommended him to a few friends.

Dr. Port listens, he is compassionate and an excellent diagnostician.

Dr. Lee was my ankle surgeon after a bad break 8 years ago. My ankle started aching after all this time, so I went back to see him. I didn't have to wait long forcan appointment. An x-ray in the office showed nothing mechanically wrong with the hardware and no arthritis. We decided to try a cortisone shot. Getting the shot was absolutely painless. Almost a week later and doing well. Dr. Lee is just the best!! Highly recommend.

First time at the doctor office. Waiting time was short, took x-rays before I saw the doctor to compare with my previous MRI. Doctor reviewed the documentation and showed me on the monitor with a detailed explanation

I cannot recommend Dr. Amandeep Bhalla highly enough! From my first consultation in 2018 to post-surgical care in 2020, he demonstrated exceptional expertise, professionalism, and compassion. Now in 2025 I am facing new obstacles that I am certain he will guide me through. Dr. Bhalla takes the time to explain my condition and treatment options thoroughly, ensuring I feel confident in my care plan. Dr. Bhalla's dedication to patient-centered care is evident in his approach--he listens, educates, and involves you in the decision-making process. His use of advanced, minimally invasive techniques made my procedure smoother than I ever expected, and my recovery was outstanding. Beyond his surgical skill, Dr. Bhalla is kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in his patients' well-being. I have to give a shout out to his Office Manager Ronnie T. She is a bright star, kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in the patients' well-being. I initially met her hen he was Dr.. Bhalla's Nurse. The office staff, including Khalil the X-Ray Tech, are very friendly and you are made to feel like you stepped into a friend's home. There is also an abundance of FREE parking! I am incredibly grateful for Dr. Bhalla and his expertise and I highly recommend him to anyone in need of top-tier spinal care.

Dr. Milstein is the consummate caring empathetic, knowledgeable professional. I have been seeing him for my various orthopedic issues (knees, elbows, shoulders) over the last 5+ years or so, and he has without fail evaluated diagnosed and prescribed the correct treatment. Without hesitation I would recommend Dr. Milstein for any orthopedic related need. 8/27/24-I saw Dr. Milstein, accommodated me on very short notice. Once again Eric (he’s treated for so long I feel I can use his first name!) evaluated my issues, after fully informing me advised cortisone shot, I agrred. He injected smoothly, painlessly. He has had a great track record with of hitting the ‘right spot’ and I am confident he’s done it again. He’s that good!

Initial visit...found Dr. Millstein to be extremely professional, as well as, very engaging, (which put me at ease); his questions were very pointed & organized - with follow-up questions that delved, more thoroughly, into my concerns. The testing of my physical strength and agility was methodical, ending with a referral for MRI and follow up visit. I was given a few possible options, to consider, depending upon what MRI disclosed. The staff was great too! Update: 3/16/25 Every visit, same constancy of professionalism and care (Dr. Millstein & staff)... Expressly Beth (front) and Shavon (admin), BOTH...extremely professional, polite, pleasant, friendly and welcoming... immediately upon entering, beginning with their smile...they remove all my apprehensions regarding the office visit. I'm so very grateful...despite the extra travel dlistance (for me), because of their recent move and more expensive parking rates...well woth it...just to enjoy their company!! And I have wonderful supportive and Godly friend's...so...it's not desperation LOL... I genuinely appreciate and love these folks!!

March 2025 update I love you, Doc! I’m back to doing two things I love - running and yoga! Had arthroscopy done on both of my hips now and I’m so happy. As long as you don’t have arthritis yet, this procedure is amazing if done properly, and this doctor is the best! 2022 Look no further, this is the doctor you want to see for your hip issues. I saw Dr. G almost a year ago after running my 25th marathon and developing pain in my right hip, I really did not want to do surgery and he gave me options to see if this pain will go away with physical therapy and no running. After six months of no results, I went back to Dr. G and he showed me on the x-ray that hip arthroscopy would be the best choice to fix the problem. I went to other famous orthopedic surgeons in Santa Monica and West LA for second and third and fourth opinions. And it would be fine to choose one of them for the surgery but going with Dr. G felt like the right choice. The level of care and attention you get from this doctor is well above average! He’s meticulous, thorough and has the first-hand experience of this procedure as a Patient. Him being a runner himself gave me confidence I can return to the sport I love.. His assistant Zohra is amazing, any questions - I get answers via emails promptly. She guided me through preparation for the surgery, post-op, etc. it’s six weeks post-op and the doctor saw me three times already to follow up on the progress of my recovery and physical therapy. I have been recommending him to my friends.

I visited Dr. Khurana for a 2nd opinion and in the process was won over to a new spine specialist. When my physical therapist recommended Dr. Khurana as someone I should get an opinion from, his was a name I’d heard many times over the years. He had a reputation as one of the top spine surgeons in the country. This was something I’d heard touted numerous times over the years. Selecting a doctor with Dr Khurana’s prominence to render a second opinion on a surgery I was scheduled to undergo was comforting to my unsettled mind. I was seeking confidence that the surgery I was about to undergo was appropriate. Alternatives approaches hadn’t been discussed and in the absence of such, I was left to assume surgery was my only option. I just didn’t know the degree of necessity. Was it absolutely necessary? Unsure as I was, I was racing toward another double ADR surgery. I already had double ADR surgery some years ago. Following through with the surgery as planned would render the majority of my cervical spine artificial. Was this even prudent? How many quadruple ADRs exist in the universe? What are the outcomes? I had questions and needed confirmation from another spine specialist that additional ADR surgery was my best course of action. Dr. Khurana analyzed my cervical imaging and surgical history. He reviewed his interpretations with me and my wife, provided us ample time to ask all the questions that had remained unanswered and in the end, it was Dr. Khurana opinion that I didn’t need surgery. Dr. Khurana explained his diagnosis and other more measured alternatives available to treat my case. My visit to Dr. Khurana was as relieving as it was revealing. I feel very fortunate to have turned to Dr. Khurana for answers. It was, in retrospect, a very good decision. Dr. Khurana may be a highly regarded spine surgeon, but he’s a good doctor because he understands the importance of communication and through it, connects. By comparison, It’s now obvious to me what I was missing in my relationship with my previous spine doctor – a human connection. In better hands, C
