> Amazing, caring doctor! Took my 85 year old father to him after our primary doctor referred us. My father had suffered a complete collapse of his T-7 and compression on the spinal cord from a previous car accident and I was extremely nervous about the major surgery he was about to undergo to reinforce his spine. Dr. Bhalla calmed my fears and did an excellent job with the 2 rods and 12 screws he put in his back. This surgery saved my dad from becoming completely paralyzed. Very grateful to Dr. Bhalla!

> THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! As one begins to explore replacing a knee it can be scary and brings on a lot of apprehension and questions. I started my search in YELP and did a lot of comparison and review reading. After all, you're replacing an integral part of your body and if not done right can leave you crippled. I ended up selecting Dr. Millstein for an appointment. Dr. Millstein was very straightforward, informative and organized. I felt comfortable with him right away. He gave me my options and I decided to move forward. Appointments were made. His office kept me informed and sent me documents and information when needed.
>
> The big day arrived. I had the normal fear and nervousness one gets prior to surgery and he talked to my wife and myself at length and answered all questions. We both felt much better. Needless to say he did a great job. I'm sure I came out of surgery with the best pain control possible. Cedar Sinai hospital was clean, efficient and very friendly. (Which you don't get the friendly part in most hospitals).
>
> I would recommend Dr. Millstein to anyone without hesitation. HE'S A GREAT SURGEON. Dr. Millstein, thank you for the new knee!!

> Finding Dr. Bae was a miracle! I can't begin to list all the reasons why. He drove from Cedars to St. John and showed up at midnight to check on my husband after 5 grueling surgeries. I didn't think doctors existed who would go so far for a patient. Look up his creds, and if you should ever need spine surgery, count yourself lucky if you can connect with him and his amazing assistant, Lisa. Their expert work, kindness, and empathy are very very rare.

> I have been suffering from neck/arm pain for the past 8 mos. I've been to 3 different "experts" & no one would write a Rx for me to go in for MRIs...even though nothing else was working: epidurals, cortisone, meds. As a prior gymnast & dancer, I know my body & I know when I started losing the feeling down my hands & then my fingers started to get freezing cold, the problem was a lot more serious than the doctor I was seeing was seeing. I finally demanded he write ard for MRIs on both shoulders & my cervical spine & through some research was referred to Dr. Khurana - who, after taking one look at all my tests, reports, etc. said I needed emergency surgery or I'd end up with permanent nerve damage. I wonder - if my previous dr had listened to me - would I be in the situation I now find myself?
>
> Of course, we can't look back, only forward & I am so lucky that I was directed to Dr Khurana, who went over everything with me in great detail & explained the surgery so that even my husband, who doesn't know anything about anything re: medical terms, procedures & the like, completely understood & felt 100% confident when we left.
>
> The surgery is pretty extensive: Dr Khurana will be fusing my C3/4 & then totally replacing my discs at C5/6 & C6/7 & any time one goes in for surgery, especially anything related to the spine, it is nerve-wracking, to say the least. But everyone in the office - from the front desk to Amanda & Elaine &, especially, Dr Khurana made me feel like I was in the best hands possible.
>
> My appointment was on a Wednesday & Jessica, who schedules the surgeries, called me the next day & was able to get me in w/in a week - pretty unheard of these days. I go in tomorrow morning & have been told that, while the recovery may be pretty tough, I am expected to feel relief from the excruciating pain I've been living with pretty immediately.
>
> I can't thank the entire staff for making a scary situation less so.
>
> If you're reading this & have any issues with your spine, look no farther....Dr Khurana IS your man!

> Dr. Bae had a consultation with my wife and suggested that she apply for an FDA trial of LimiFlex for her condition of spondylolesthesis. She was accepted and Dr. Bae performed the operation. It was most successful. In 10 days she was driving and 3 months out she is a very happy person. It surely was a better option that the traditional fusion that others had recommended. On one occasion we were stressed because we had to wait to see him. We were completely de-stressed when he came in with his charming self on a day in which he obviously had a lot of activity.
> We have nothing but high regard for this doctor.

> Dr Khurana operated on my father one month ago and we couldn't be more pleased with the process. My dad had an extremely fast recovery with minimal pain. Dr Khurana is professional and articulate and made the process of spine surgery as positive of an experience as it could possibly be. His staff is courteous and accommodating, we always felt like they had our best interest in mind. We 100% recommend Dr. Khurana, he is the best!

> Before Dr Bae I had seen 4 other back dr's. All told me I had stenosis in my L3-L5 region. All told me I would need fusion. I went through this over a 6 year period. I refused fusion since It would debilitate me for life. One of the earlier Dr's began to perform newer, minimally invasive procedures when a friend who happens to be a anesthesiologist told me to go see Dr Bae.
> I saw Dr Bae in Nov of 2016. I was more than impressed when he told me I did not need fusion. A Lumbar Laminectomy was his prognosis. I saw Dr Bae again in Jan of 2017. Surgery was scheduled for May 2017. Over the 4 month waiting period things changed and the procedure was changed. Still a Laminectomy but now 2 - 6" Carbon Fiber Rods and a titanium spring would also be implanted.
> May 15 2017 I went in at 1:30 pm for Surgery. I was in my hospital room at 6:30pm. At 6:30am the next morning I was walking up and down the hallways. I was released 2 days later.
> 3 weeks later I was back doing light work. Recovery was amazing. I was able to walk 1/4 mile at first, then 1/2 mile and finally a full mile.
> My only mistake was not going to PT when I was told to. A few issues but 4 weeks later I was a champ again.
> Dec 2017 I did a 2 mile walk/hike through the desert. I continued to improve. longer walks. less fear about having to park too far away to a store entrance. Sept 2018 I did a 8.5 mile hike through Malibu creek in 3 hours. I could not remember when I was able to go a distance like that with no pain.
> Dr Bae can be cold. However he was the warmest and patient man when it came to explaining everything to my wife. Before the surgery he made all the time needed. Lisa can be short. But they do care. The whole office staff cares.
> Amazing surgeon.

> This is wonderful office. Everyone smiles when you come in. But most important is the quality of care. i have always felt that Dr. Millstein is an extremely skilled practitioner , attention to the patient's questions, and attempts to answer directly, snd honestly. My husband had knee replacement several year ago, and had some physical therapy to assist in the recovery, and the Physical Therapist said he could be a poster child fort this kind of surgery. A perfect job!!!! Very fine Doctor.

> There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude to Dr. Garabekyan but there is one word that comes to mind when I think of him………” AMAZING”! I had already met with several Orthopedic Surgeons for my 20-Year-Old Daughter over the course of a year and a half and had narrowed it down to one Surgeon who came highly recommended in Ventura County.
>
> My introduction to Dr. G wasn’t planned. It was a chance encounter that his information was presented to me. After reading his Bio, I took a leap of faith and scheduled an appointment to meet with him. That first meeting completely changed our course and was all it took to take a different approach and put all our trust in Dr. G.
>
> I have never met a Doctor that was so involved with each case and patient that he worked with. Treating each patient as if they were his only patient. We never felt rushed at any moment we had with him and he always wanted to ensure that we fully understood the path that we were about to take.
>
> He listened to my daughter and took into consideration what her daily life was like and that her physical abilities played a huge factor in her life. He didn’t want to see any of her abilities limited at a young age.
>
> It has now been almost 4 months since her surgery and I do not have one regret choosing Dr. G. He personally checked on her the following days after the procedure and continues that same attentiveness that he gave us from Day 1.
>
> I am excited to see his practice grow and will continue to support him with any referral I can pass on to him.
>
> Dr. G., WE ARE FOREVER GREATFUL for everything you have done! Thank You!!!

> I just finished my 6 months check up with Dr. Khuarna. I am nothing short of ecstatic with how amazing my surgery went. I have been an athlete since the young age of 4th grade. I played Volleyball and Basketball all the way into college and then played some professional ball after college. I had a steller career with national titles and more. In one of my National tournaments in 99, I hyperextended backward to get a ball and cracked my lower lumbar. I did tons of rehab and continued to play on for another 10 years thinking all was good, but around age 30 I retired from playing both sports as the pain and wear and tear of an almost 20-year career was weighing on me. I didn't realize that eventually, that injury would turn into a collapsed disk causing even more pain. Getting out of bed just took my breath away and was excruciating. After knee surgery, my back pain increased to almost unbearable. I went to my doctor who referred me to a specialist who just told me to go to rehab and deal with it. Two years after that I thought there has to be something else I can do. I remembered Dr. Khurana worked on my mother's back who literally was like Humpty Dumpty in that her back was in pieces and he put her back together. I researched him and saw he was top in his field, a former athlete himself and that he put athletes like myself a volleyball player back together. I knew he would understand where I was coming from. As much as I didn't want surgery, I knew it was time to get help the pain was just about unbearable. After a short consult, Dr. Sanjay stated I needed surgery to better my quality of life. I agreed but was completely terrified at the thought of going under. At this point in my life, I am a mother of two, owner of three companies and a national speaker and I thought to myself, so many people rely on me what if this does not work but I did more research I saw the success rate of Dr. Sanjay and how all his patients had amazing results. I knew I had to do this. Fast forward I remember them telling me I would wake up pain-free after the surgery and I found that hard to believe. I also told them every time I go under I wake up vomiting. Well, When I woke up from this surgery not only was it the first time ever I woke up and actually felt good with no vomiting but I had no pain. I couldn't believe it the pain was gone. With the exception of the incision pain which I could deal with I had two c-sections previously I felt amazing. And even more amazing 2 hours after the surgery they had me up and walking. I recovered amazingly fast once I got past the first week. Two weeks after my surgery here I was walking to an event to do a presentation. And its been amazing the last 6 months I have no pain. My quality of life is amazing in so many ways. Even though with my pain I remained active I thought wow I am going to have to live with being in pain but today I have no pain. I am literally 100 percent better. When it comes to recommendations Dr. Sanjay Khurana I highly recommend, he is top in his field, his success rates are amazing, he is extremely professional and has top quality staff. The DISC center where we did the surgery was amazing as well, so much better then a hospital and I was treated like a queen with such sincere caring people. As high level athlete, I have had some amazing doctors in my in my career, but Dr. Sanjay has been the best. Thank you, Dr. Sanjay and your staff for helping me move to a pain-free life.

> Dr. Bhalla is a great man and a great surgeon. He operated on my son after his surfing accident that left him with very limited mobility on his left side and slightly more on his right. With Dr. Bhallla's highly skilled hands and with the Lords help my son walked out of rehab in just a month and 3 days after his accident. He was at Rancho Los amigos rehab in Downy Ca. The whole staff said it was a miracle that with his type of injury to be able to walk out on his own. Thank you Lord that guided this great surgeon's hands. for ever grateful to this great surgeon!

> Dr. Bae is the best ortho you will find! My wife had years of back issues and suffering. During her first consultation with Dr. Bae, he said the words that no other ortho (and there were many) had said to her...."I can fix you"! She just went in for her 6 month after surgery check up and she is "fixed"! Straighter, taller, and flexible. The care that Dr. Bae, Dr. Lisa and the rest of the office was nothing less than perfect. If Dr. Bae tells you he can fix you, believe him!

> My new Ortho... (traveled from Idaho)
>
> I am a very "active" grandma of seven...
>
> It wasn't until after vetting four different Ortho's that I choose Dr. Garabekyan.
> I had bi-lateral labral tears in my hips and was in a lot of constant pain. I went to some of the "best" hip surgeons in LA and Beverly Hills. I left their offices feeling discouraged and not very confident.
>
> I sought out Dr. Garabekyan for his Arthroscopic Labral repair techniques (no perineal post) and recovery period.
>
> From my 1st visit where the tears were explained and the specific details for surgery were given, I was certain he was the right surgeon. He made accommodations for a prompt surgery due to the distance I would need to travel. Dr. Garabekyan gave me his cell number and kept me informed all the way through the process. He was kind enough to share all the details a second time with my husband.
>
> Surgery day came, Dr. Garabekyan came into the pre-op room sat with us for 15 minutes, went through the surgery details again, which was very reassuring.
>
> Surgery (on both hips) went very well and I walked same day, that was outstanding! He texted me daily to check on my recovery!! Wow! I felt like a VIP!
>
> Pain management/recovery:
>
> I was off narcotics within 24 hrs. Went on to Toradol for three more days, then to Ibuprofen from there. I used crutches for 1 week inside and two-weeks outside.
>

I definitely did my part, but truly believe that my recovery is and has gone so well because of the skills and expertise of my doctor.
>
> I am 6 weeks post-op and went for a two-hour beach bike ride in Santa Barbra with my grandchildren even after walking the zoo for two-in-a-half hours!!
>

> I couldn't have picked a better Dr. for my disk replacement. For over two years I suffered with debilitating neck and shoulder pain due to a damaged disc C5-C6. I saw two surgeons here in Las Vegas and tried all the nonsurgical treatments (anti-inflammatory medications, acupuncture, two rounds of physical therapy and epidural steroid injections) to no avail. Both local surgeons eventually recommended spinal fusion. NO WAY, I said.
> For over a year, I spent hours researching alternative treatments and that's how I found Dr. Bae. On June 2015, I had my initial consultation. When you enter Dr. Bae's office the first person you will interact with is Julie, Dr. Bae's medical secretary. She is incredibly efficient, helpful and skillful at communicating with nervous patients like myself. When you meet Dr. Bae the first thing you will notice is how confident and forthright he is. First, he examined my medical history and MRI images, he showed my husband and I where the prolapsed disk was pressing against the spinal cord and then he explained (in plain language) what could be done surgically to free up the nerve. Both my husband and I were extremely impressed with Dr. Bae's minimally invasive approach to surgery, his communication skills and sincere desire to stop my pain. The surgery, insurance coverage, hospital stay, follow up care, etc was all made possible by his wonderful PA Lisa. Lisa was instrumental in coordinating the "long distance" planning of my surgery in Santa Monica - most of it through email and phone calls. She was SUPER quick replying to all of my questions! Thank You Lisa.
> Seven weeks ago, Dr Bae replaced my degenerated disk with a Mobi-C cervical disk and I'm feeling fantastic. I Just completed the first week of physical therapy here in Vegas and for the first time in years I'm starting to live free of pain. If you are struggling with a spinal condition, trust Dr. Bae and his amazing team!

> Dr. Khurana is so awesome. He did a fantastic job with my husband's cervical fusion back in January. He has a great bedside manner. You can tell that he really cares about the well being of his patients. My husband had to be in the hospital for about 4 days after surgery and he was in contact with me regularly updating me on the his status. My husband also has lower back problems and I won't trust anyone but Dr. Khurana to be his surgeon again for this problem. Also, Wendy and Susan were great to deal with prior to surgery. See you for follow up in July, Dr. Khurana!

> My mother recently had knee surgery performed by Dr. Millstein. I had read his Yelp reviews prior and was slightly bothered by what others had said, but my mother insisted he was the doctor for her. It has been a couple of months since surgery and I can happily report that not only was my mother's knee surgery a success, her visits to his office and interaction with Dr. Millstein and his staff was great. Dr. Millstein has a great bedside manner and was approachable, informative, caring and went above and beyond to make sure my mother was comfortable and doing well even with her after care, which I truly appreciated. I would highly recommend him to others!

> I am now 6 months post-operative meniscus repair of my knee with Dr. Millstein. As an RN with surgical orthopedic work experience, I think I can speak on the topic with some perspective.
>
> The quick summary: Dr. Millstein is not only an excellent surgeon, he's a trustworthy PERSON. His staff reflects his same commitment to the patient, and if you're his patient, you are listened to, he is generous with his time, and you will not be rushed. I am 62 and my knee hurt for two-plus years before I sought medical attention. I really expected him to tell me something like, "there's nothing wrong with your knee, so quit whining." But in fact, despite no history of prior trauma, my knee cartilage had literally come apart within my knee and needed arthroscopic repair. Within 48 hours after surgery with Dr. Millstein I no longer needed pain pills, I gave up the crutches, gave back the ice machine, and walked without pain for the first time in too long.
>
> Since then I have been able to resume hiking with my sons and my wife and all of that without pain. Having worked with scores of orthopedists whose attitudes toward their patients was, to say the least, highly variable, I can recommend Dr. Millstein with real enthusiasm. You Yelpers looking here for help deciding, lemme tell ya: look no further. :) Dr. M is your guy. -- M. L.

> My 11 year old son had been complaining about knee pain for a few weeks, and his pediatrician recommended an orthopedist we weren't happy with from a previous visit (we waited almost two hours to see him, while my son was in pain with a broken wrist). I needed to find a good doc, so I did what I always do... Checked in with Yelp! When I saw Dr. Millstein's listing I remembered him from two years ago when I had taken my daughter to his old office in century city, and at the time thought he was terrific! Very professional and very personable at the same time. I remember thinking, at that time, that I needed to remember his name, but alas, life gets hectic... Bottom line, I called and got an appointment for my son for a few days later. The office has you fill in paperwork at home (big time saver!) and when we got to his beautiful new office, we were taken in within about 5 - 10 minutes. The office staff were all very friendly, and seeing Dr. Millstein reminded me of why I was so happy on the first visit, years ago. He has a great personal manner and my son was immediately comfortable. The Dr. took his time in speaking with my son, learning the progression, and doing a complete physical exam. When he gave his diagnosis, he took out his new iPad to show my son an animated 3-D image of the knee and explained how the knee works and exactly why his was hurting. My son was very impressed and so was I. We are a very active family and have seen too many orthopedists here in L.A. Until now, I haven't been impressed by anyone like I am with Dr. Millstein. He clearly knows his craft very well! My son will be starting physical therapy next week, and we'll check in with Dr Millstein in a couple of weeks. It's good to know that my son's knees are in good hands, and Dr Millstein's number is now programmed into my phone!
