His office is very nice and really clean, and runs in a seamless manner. Very calm and efficient. The office provides state of the art equipment. Dr Millstein is very personable and was very patient with me during my appointment. He educated me on my condition and assured me everything would be ok. Not only was he thoughtful, attentive, understanding, compassionate, but also vested in my recovery. He listened to my questions, I never felt rushed, and he was always there to ease my concerns and help me through my treatment. My spinal injury was a multi-year debacle and I was basically an invalid. Being in my mid-twenties, it was more than depressing not being able to do what I wanted to physically. After my surgery with Dr. Khurana, I got my life back. Dr. Khurana gave me my life back. I'm now back in the gym, playing sports, competitively swimming, and living my life - all thanks to the hands and know-how of Dr. Khurana. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone having spinal issues. I'm back to 100%. He didn't push me for surgery, and we tried several other options prior to. My only regret was waiting two years to find Dr. Khurana, but boy am I thanking my lucky stars that I did. I. In my mid 40's I decided to get into shape to reduce the side effects of a bad L5 and in doing so started to get sciatica 5 yrs into my fitness obsession. I went to my first ortho who did nothing but put me on Vicodin (which I refused to take) and prescribed me physical therapy. That only made my situation worse. I had 2 epidural shots which seem to work momentarily but eventually wore off. Then I found dr. Bae!!! This man is an amazing surgeon and doctor! His staff is the best, his bedside manner is great, he's a life changer and I can't recommend him to enough people! He's also into cutting edge technology with the use of stem cells for spine rejuvenation (I think I'm saying that right). I had a knee dislocation and the MRI results were not very good but he was able to detect a mistake in the reading and gave me peace of mind. He has great bed side manners and is a compassionate and caring doctor. I was referred to him by Dr Sunu Alhluwalia also an excellent doctor but since he was out of network and I need surgery he referred me to him. I don't have enough words to say the peace I feel after visiting him. I have tear tendons and will need surgery. I trust that my recovery is going to be just fine with him. The receptionist was able to give me an appointment six days later. I am 53 years old, an active athlete for most of my life, and in the last six months I had developed some severe unfamiliar knee pain. I was concerned that my symptoms might be from a torn meniscus (cartilage) in my right knee. I went to Dr. Millstein's office in Beverly Hills, filled out some forms and had two X-rays taken of my knee in the office as a baseline check. Next, Dr. Millstein came in and listened attentively to my history of the problem and what type of pain I was getting. He did a hands-on physical exam, manipulating my knee in the test positions that would be painful if I had a meniscus injury. From that exam and my history he concluded that I probably did not have a meniscus injury, and it was likely another kind of soft-tissue inflammation that was giving me pain. I was still worried and wanted to rule out the possibility of a meniscus injury, so Dr. Millstein was willing to prescribe an MRI scan to be 100% sure it was not a meniscus tear. This was what I was hoping for, because if I could be sure it was not a tear I could treat my knee with anti-inflammatory drugs and physical therapy. Dr. Millstein also consulted me on my drug history and what I had taken and what worked best for me. This was very considerate -- most doctors just say: "Take this pill." I got the MRI results and it showed that Dr. Millstein's in-office diagnosis was correct: my meniscus was intact. I have since then been able to resolve the pain 95% with the anti-inflammatory drugs he prescribed, ice, exercise and resting the knee. > > Let me tell you the three things that most impressed me about Dr. Millstein: > > 1) He's a very modern guy with state-of-the-art tools, procedures, and ideas about treatment. Some doctors would have wanted to do "exploratory" surgery on my knee. Not Dr. Millstein. This was great news for me. Dr. Millstein only wanted to do what was needed to put my mind at ease, treat my knee pain, and no more. He was patient-focused and really showed great medical ethics. One of the principal ideas of medical ethics that all medical students are taught in medical school is that, "given an existing problem, it may be better not to do something, or even to do nothing, than to risk causing more harm than good." It reminds the physician and other health care providers that they must consider the possible harm that any intervention (surgery) might do. So I applaud Dr. Millstein for giving me restrained, minimal, successful treatment. I would highly recommend him to anyone. W. M. I had a terrible experience with the first doctor I saw, Bert Mandelbaum, and asked family and friends for a new recommendation. My uncle (bless his soul) recommended Dr. MIllstein. My uncle had both knees replaced by Millstein and absolutely loved him. Side note: I later found out that my very good friend went to Millstein after a car accident badly damaged her knee and she raved about him. I called his office and had an appt within 3-4 days. I waited about 30 minutes, for which he apologized, but I told him it was not a problem after the 2+ hour wait I had with Mandelbaum. He noticed that I had a swollen bursa in my knee and gave me a cortisone shot. Problem solved. The pain dissipated and it never returned. I would recommend Dr. Millstein a million times over. He is smart, caring and great at what he does. He takes his time, displays compassion and figures out the problem. I went to a top knee specialist prior to Millstein, and he completely misdiagnosed me. I am so very glad that I got a second opinion. Millstein will be my first choice if I ever experience another knee issue. He is fabulous! Not only do I highly recommend him, but my good friend and and my uncle do as well.
