> Dr. Bae fixed my neck. I had a couple of failed disks from an injury sustained in JiuJitsu. He replaced the failed disks, and the arm weakness I had experienced the past 18 months was gone as soon as I awoke from surgery. Ask me questions and I will be happy to answer. I want others in pain to get the relief I have had, and navigating your care is not always easy. I know, I have been a RN for 20 years and see the difficulty people have.

> I had been putting off surgery for probably two years longer than I should have. You can't blame me though anytime you're messing with the cervical spine well they can be scary. Finally the pain was too much and after seeing several orthopedic and neurosurgeons I decided to go with the doctor that came most highly recommended by friends who have had extremely successful surgeries with.
>
> It has now been one year since I had a cervical disc replacement by Dr. Bae. I wish I could go back several years and Yell at myself and say don't wait any longer do it! Do it! It is so worth it. Trust Dr Bae with your spine, he is the right doctor.
>
> Just to add a little perspective to my review, I have been critical care nurse for 25 years so I know a lot of people in the health industry and you can bet I explored it all. When it finally came time to make a decision the answer was clear, Dr. Bae. Like I said it's been a year since surgery and the answer is still crystal clear, Dr. Bae.
>
> Thank you so much to you and all of your team. It feels wonderful not to live with so much pain.

> I have been suffering from back pain for 40 plus years, sometimes debilitating, sometimes manageable. In the last year it got to the point where I was getting numb more and more frequently and had difficulty standing or walking more than a block. Dr. Bae came to the rescue. I had a laminotomy and spinal fusion. Of course I was nervous but felt confident that Dr. Bae would perform a miracle and he did. I am now 3 months post surgery, returning from Europe where I walked without pain or numbness or any ill effects. In the last week I walked a total of 30 miles sightseeing. I am beyond grateful - the quality of my life is back full force AND I am over 70 and feel like new. Lisa, Dr. Bae's PA, is incredible as is the entire staff. Questions which are probably somewhat irritating are always answered quickly with kindness, adding to the security I felt. A 12 on a scale of 10. Thank you to all!

> This is way overdue. Dr. Millstein performed surgery for me on 11/17/17. I had a graft replace for an ACL and meniscus repaired. His communication throughout the process including texting and calling me post op. was a big surprise and also very helpful.
>
> Not all surgeons are alike. Whether it's their ability, or bedside manner, or communication pre/post op. you will see quite a variance between these types of professionals. Dr. Millstein nails all the categories and I am so grateful that Cedars referred me to him and that my insurance worked with him.
>
> I would highly recommend him if you are injured and need a great Orthopedic surgeon. Personally, I hope I only have to see him for follow up appointments and not another injury, but if "life happens" I would see him again.

> This review is 1 year and a month post S1-L5 and L5-L4 microdiscectomy.
>
> After an injury at an obstacle course race that was completely my fault, load over capacity on a heavy lift, I had lumbar pain that eventually became a sciatic pain that was most felt in my left calf.
>
> I started Physical Therapy to resolve the issue, but in my case and situation, it was not resolving the issue the way we wanted it. The pain kept coming back immediately when walking, even after performing exercises that would relieve it. My PT recommended a few surgeons to talk to, and after looking at DISC I chose to go see Dr. Khurana. I figured if DISC gets Red Bull athletes back to performing, I would be in capable hands.
>
> Another reason I chose Dr. Khurana was that he understood why I had the injury and what I needed to do to get past it. There was no "oh you must have surgery" or "we can do surgery but never flip that 400lbs tire again". Upon initial consultation and look at my MRI, we both agreed to continue PT for a few more weeks to make sure that PT was not progressing for "me" and what I wanted to continue doing. As another reviewer stated, these things are not one size fits all. Make sure your PT, surgeon AND YOU are in line with your life goals. I felt that Dr. Khurana, and the entire DISC staff, cared about my situation and wanted to get me back to where I wanted to be.
>
> I wanted to race again that year, wanted to carry 70lbs buckets uphill, wanted to trail run for 30+ miles, wanted to crawl under barbwire, wanted to blah blah blah. Dr. Khurana understood where I wanted to be as an athlete and where I was before the injury and I felt his consultation kept all this in mind.
>
> I elected to have the surgery performed, and everything was super smooth. In on a Friday morning, out that evening and I was back to work on Monday. I was back to racing again in just over six months (Tahoe Ultra Beast, aroo!). My case is not all cases, as I had done a ton of work during the previous years that would have been considered pre-hab.
>
> The surgery experience was excellent. Everyone was very caring and explained everything to me in as much detail as I wanted. I would do it again if I "had" to. I was never second-guessing the decision.
>
> All of the post-op appointments were the same caliber. Dr. Khurana explained what I may experience in the next year or two as I started training again, so while sometimes I am alarmed thinking "uh...should I be feeling this now?" between Dr. Khurana and my PT I am guided in the right direction. He cared about how I was progressing and how I was getting back to my pursites.
>
> Shout out to Devin Blessing at Evolution Physical Therapy. They are just around the way from DISC in Playa Vista and are an excellent place to follow up your surgery at.

> Dr Bae performed disc replacement surgery on me in Jan of 2018, very very pleased with the result. Since surgery I have had very good range of motion, x-rays look great, and no pain. I can return to all activities provided the rest of my body agrees and I don't try and do too much too fast.
>
> The whole experience has been very positive. Dr Bae has a warm, confident, and intelligent way about him. He is very patient and easy to talk with. He took as much time with me as needed to explain and educate. He does that for everyone so waiting may be in the cards as he is a very sought after surgeon with a strong track record.
>
> Thank you, Dr Bae. Very happy.

> Dr. Estess is a great doctor. I came to her complaining of ongoing lower back pain and she provided me with a few options. One of which was to get an MRI just to be safe, so I decided to go with that. Turns out, I have two herniated discs in my back! No idea how! Again, she went over a few options with me and I'll be starting physical therapy soon to see if it helps. I'd recommend her to anyone. I felt very comfortable the entire time and I felt like she really listened to me :)

> After seeing three other Orthopedic specialists I found Dr. Millstein at the recommendation of a close friend and I have to say, I am very glad I did.
>
> Dr. Millstein was the only doctor to fully explain what would be done to me during the surgery, what my recovery would be like, and how my life would be as close to normal as it was before the surgery.
>
> It has been about 15 weeks since my surgery and I have to say this, I have not had ANY pain since 2 days after my surgery and I used to be in constant pain. What a blessing.
>
> The surgery was done at Cedar Sinai and if you have never been there you will be in for a surprise. I have never been treated so well at any hospital I have ever been to and I have been to a few in my day. Absolutely a wonderful experience.
>
> A huge thank you to Dr. Millstein and his entire staff, they are all top notch in my book.

> Dr Wassef Performed a total hip replacement on my right hip.
>
> I found him to be outstanding in every way. Before the surgery, but very clear on in every aspect. Also, very patient with me and spent a lot of time explaining the situation.
>
> The surgery and the aftermath have been fantastic so far. The technique Dr. Wassef uses seems to smaller scar and less muscle cutting than other techniques
>
> An outstanding performance from beginning to end.

> Dr Bhalla is a very conscientious and knowledge person and figured out my shoulder pain was actually a herniated disk in my cervical spine. He thoroughly explained my options for treatment and even suggested for me to get a second opinion before I decided to have surgery with him. The surgery was success and I'm very thankful for Dr. Bhalla's care during my whole ordeal.

> Best possible outcomes because of Dr. Millstein!
>
> I couldn't be happier with my recent knee replacement that Dr. Millstein performed. And - I'm only 2 weeks out from the surgery! He was very upfront with the pros and cons for me. I have always felt that he truly cares about me and my situation.
>
> I have Lupus and arthritis and have deliberated the decision for the replacement for almost 10 years. I was told for the first few that I was too young for it at the time.
>
> I'm still technically too young since there is a possibility I'll have to have another one someday. But - Dr. M never pushed the surgery on me. In fact, he told me two years ago, that he wouldn't do it for "aggravating" only when it became unbearable. That happened this year when I was held back from almost all of the activities I have enjoyed my whole life. It was time. And I couldn't be more pleased with the results.
>
> I was a bit concerned at the start - because I got a UTI in the hospital and had to stay on a little longer. But - my care from Dr. Millstein and the residents on call took amazing care of me, gave me a lot of attention and clearly explained the issues and risks. I came home in fine shape, and was off to rehab!
>
> Best decision I've made regarding my health in a long time. I can't wait to ski, hike, bike and play in the coming months!

> Dr. Milltein's office is at the top of their game. Any busy, successful physician is difficult with which to get an appointment. When my first appointment was booked 10 days out, I asked the receptionist, Zandra, to call me if they had any cancellations, and frankly I did not expect a call back. But the next day Zandra called saying, we've had a cancellation, can you be here in 90 minutes? You betcha'! I've have two appointments and never had to wait more than 10 minutes. Dr. Millstein said he needed to get approval from Anthem Blue Cross on Tuesday, but if approved, he could do the procedure on Wednesday, which is exactly what happened. In addition to Zandra, Beth, Antionette and Susana, Teri leads the medical assistant team. She got the approval, set up the injection tray and kept me informed at every turn of events. Teri stood out for her communication skills, obvious command of the medical procedures and showed real sincerity--are you feeling OK after the injection? Caring and competence inspires patient confidence.

> I chose Dr. Bae over three other, highly recommended spine surgeons and I'm totally convinced I chose brilliantly. I'm 85 years young and have been handicapped with spinal stenosis for forty years. My walking numbness, painful irritation and lack of good balance was ruining my life. I couldn't even walk my dog without sitting on the curb four or five times. I was afraid of an unsuccessful surgery, so I tried two other non surgical solutions. One was a San Fernando Valley fraud chiropractor who promised laser treatments would cure me. The only thing he cured was his empty wallet. Another "doctor" promised that pulling my spine apart with an expensive pulling machine would cure me. He robbed me of $6,000 without doing my spine one bit of good. I finally visited Dr. Bae because two close married friends both had been very happy with his surgery and the wonderful permanent results. Dr. Bae was wonderfully reassuring when he saw my MRI printout, and the successful results of the surgery proved him 100% right. I feel like a young buck again. Thanks Hyun Bae for making me feel smart as hell as well. Also, thankfully, Dr. Bae's P.A., Lisa was always available with intelligent and helpful answers to all of my questions. Jerry Mayer

> Dr. Millstein performed a knee replacement on my right knee on 5/17/17. He operated on my left knee 2 1/2 years ago. Both surgeries went extremely well, and my recuperation has been excellent both times. He is very caring, and listens to you. I live in Palm Desert, but he is worth the long drive. Also as a bonus, my scars look better than others I have seen. I recommend him highly.

> Eric Millstein performed my meniscus operation so skillfully that I took nothing but Advil in the days following surgery. Four years later I can't find the scars that were supposed to last a lifetime, and have had no further discomfort in my knee. (I sometimes have to think for a moment to remember which side used to bother me.)
>
> Better yet, he's patient and communicative. I recently went in for a few mild sports injuries and was impressed by how unhurried and thoughtful he was in evaluating each issue and offering advice. He really puts you at ease. After my appointment I remembered something I'd wanted to ask, so I emailed his front desk, who called me early the next day with his reply.
>
> Bedside manner really matters when you're injured! Years ago a surgeon in San Francisco performed a tendon repair on my right foot. The surgery went well, but the period leading up to it and my subsequent recovery were punctuated by anxiety, due to the surgeon's penchant for answering only a few precious questions ("When can I start to walk?") before disappearing without warning for his next appointment. It led to some fierce arguments with my mom, who helped me get to appointments, over whether we'd asked the right questions in our allotted time. It was highly stressful, and made the experience of getting hurt all the less pleasant.
>
> On the contrary, thanks to Eric Millstein my experience was a positive one throughout.

> Dr. Millstein is an excellent orthopedic surgeon. I initially saw him for severe arthritis in both of my shoulders. In 8/16, Dr. Millstein performed right shoulder total replacement surgery. My recovery has been excellent. I never thought that I would regain my strength and range of motion to the extent that I have. My physical therapist has consistently remarked that Dr. Millstein's skill is excellent. At each and every visit, Dr. Millstein gave me all the time I needed to have my questions answered. His office staff is excellent and very caring.

> My new Ortho... (traveled from Idaho)
>
> I am a very "active" grandma of seven...
>
> It wasn't until after vetting four different Ortho's that I choose Dr. Garabekyan.
> I had bi-lateral labral tears in my hips and was in a lot of constant pain. I went to some of the "best" hip surgeons in LA and Beverly Hills. I left their offices feeling discouraged and not very confident.
>
> I sought out Dr. Garabekyan for his Arthroscopic Labral repair techniques (no perineal post) and recovery period.
>
> From my 1st visit where the tears were explained and the specific details for surgery were given, I was certain he was the right surgeon. He made accommodations for a prompt surgery due to the distance I would need to travel. Dr. Garabekyan gave me his cell number and kept me informed all the way through the process. He was kind enough to share all the details a second time with my husband.
>
> Surgery day came, Dr. Garabekyan came into the pre-op room sat with us for 15 minutes, went through the surgery details again, which was very reassuring.
>
> Surgery (on both hips) went very well and I walked same day, that was outstanding! He texted me daily to check on my recovery!! Wow! I felt like a VIP!
>
> Pain management/recovery:
>
> I was off narcotics within 24 hrs. Went on to Toradol for three more days, then to Ibuprofen from there. I used crutches for 1 week inside and two-weeks outside.
>
> PT started with bike riding twice a day; PT w/therapist started week 3. My PT was amazed and impressed with my recovery and the techniques that Dr. Garabekyan used. I definitely did my part, but truly believe that my recovery is and has gone so well because of the skills and expertise of my doctor.
>

> Dr. Millstein is a kind and gentle man. He is very thoughtful and personal. I had an ankle injury that had been plaguing me for over a decades. Upon examining my X-Rays and MRI, he explained my condition. He does not specialize in ankles, so he referred me to one of the best surgeons in the United States. Thank you for the referral and initial diagnosis. You are honest and care about your patients.
