I will say that his approach to explaining esoteric concepts in the simplest of ways, thoughtfulness in listening to and understanding my symptoms, and attention to detail (pre/ post procedure)… are second to few. I experienced an acute sciatic episode, and it scared me to disbelief. Dr. Port found time in his busy schedule to plan my MRI and epidural intervention. I’m finally in a place of comfort and can resume my life with physical therapy and better posture, with the goal of avoiding surgery. Can't thank him enough! I wouldn't have had my most recent lower spine surgery if he wasn't available. He's the Best, and his staff is also. He has the best bedside manners, he pays attention to what your needs and concerns are, he thinks of you only when he's dealing with you. After my surgery and I went home the next day, he called me to check to see how things were going. At the time they were going well. The next day there was an issue. I had also received a text message from his office so I called in and they got him on the phone. He explained what was going on and called a prescription in for my issue. He always keeps the patient the priority and I personally appreciate that. Also, the day of my surgery, as he was heading to his prep area he looked at my son and told him "I'm going to take good care of your mom", that sealed the deal for me. He has always been an exceptional doctor for me. And his office personnel are awesome and special. You cannot write a review without mentioning them. They set the tone for the visit and the office and then Dr Bhalla completes the visit. % exceptional in my opinion. And I can't close this out without mentioning Dr Bhalla wonderful smile . I came to him with "knee pain" but after being assessed and taking a few x-rays, he quickly informed me that the issue was not my knee but was actually my hip. I had seen multiple doctors in the past who had diagnosed me with arthritis in the knee and claimed that was causing pain that I felt. Dr. Ramkumar explained what the issue was, how the issue probably happened and the solution. I came to him with previous medical trauma and skepticism of the health care system. My experience with him has been nothing short of amazing. The hip impingement surgery went well and recovery was better than I expected. I was on a stationary bike the day after surgery and started PT within days. Pain level was minimal with the exception of occasional stiffness at the surgery site. I've been able to walk and recovery quicker than I imagined possible. I haven't experience any of the pain (lower back, hip and knee) that I had prior to the surgery since the morning after surgery. If you are someone who is unsure or confused about hip and/or knee issues, I'd urge you to see Dr. Ramkumar. He got it right with me the first time and I have seen nothing but improvements to my day to day and overall quality of life. If I have to undergo the surgery on my other hip, I would not hesitate to contact Dr. Ramkumar again. R. About a year ago, without any warning, I had difficulty walking, I also had burning sensations in my arms and hands. I saw neurologists and sought opinions from four surgeons. Some recommended two and three disk cervical fusion, which I wanted to avoid. Dr. Khurana took the time to thoroughly explain my MRI and let me know that my spinal compression had to be addressed. As the solution, he recommended two artificial disk replacements. When I had more questions, he called me at 8pm one evening and patiently answered all my questions before surgery. How many surgeons do that? Now, four months later, I'm very happy to report that my surgery was flawless! I have two artificial disks and everything related to my surgery has healed perfectly. Additionally, Dr. Khurana's Medical Assistant Brianna and every member of his staff are very polite, efficient and a pleasure to work with. The Commons Clinic where I had the surgery, my Anesthesiologist and the nurses were also amazing. Dr. Millstein is incredibly knowledgeable and is conservative in his treatment. I've heard that surgeons are quick to want to perform surgery, but Dr. Millstein listened carefully, looked at test results and determined that surgery was not necessary for either of my injuries. His skillset is top-notch and he answers all questions without rushing you. His staff is also as phenomenal as he - they are very efficient, kind and follow through with all calls, forms, etc. If I could give Dr. Millstein 10 stars, I would. He is deserving. J. M.
