> I am a 32 year old very outdoorsy girl who had an MPFL reconstruction done in 2025 by Dr. Ramkumar. I chose to have this surgery because I had dislocated my knee cap on my right leg multiple times doing different things, including walking. There was 6 different structural problems that made it so my chances of dislocating my knee were higher than your average person. In 2024 I dislocated my knee cap slipping on ice and tore my quad tendon. That same year I
> Dislocated it another 3 times. i had sloughed off so much cartilage that, not only was my knee super unstable due to my MPFL being stretched out, but also I had really bad arthritis. I decided to get an MPFL reconstruction and also have stem cells placed in my knee joint from my hip to help with the arthritis. I chose Dr. Ramkumar because of his expertise in MPFL reconstruction; it is a super specialized area in orthopedics, not many surgeons are skilled

I could not recommend Dr. Ramkumar more if you need knee surgery. > I am 66 years old and played and enjoyed competitive sports my entire life up until 3-4 years ago. My left knee pain was consistently keeping me from enjoying things that contributed to my overall happiness and wellbeing. My wife and I could not longer bicycle or walk together as we always did due to my knee pain. My primary care physician referred me for X-ray and MRI, which resulted in me promptly being diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis of the left knee. I was then referred to Dr. Ramkumar and his team for physical therapy and evaluation. While the physical therapy did not resolve my arthritis, it was a great step in the right direction and I am very thankful to have met Dr. Ramkumar and his entire team. After 10 physical therapy sessions, I decided to proceed with total knee replacement after re-viewing imaging and treatment plans again. Within 10 minutes, he explained that my meniscus was completely torn and the cartilage in my knee was eroded and non-existent! He recommended a total knee replacement and explained in detail the preparation, surgery itself, recovery, and answered any and all questions I had. I was scheduled for surgery and was emailed information including emails of the process. I participated in an online zoom call with a registered nurse, who further explained my surgery and peri-operative recovery extensively. I was very informed about the things i would need like ice packs, medications, and more! My surgery was on 5/26/26 and I was walking the same afternoon and went home the same day which is a blessing. The first night I had difficulty sleeping as I had reluctance taking the prescribed pain medications, but after taking pain mediations the next day, my pain was managed and I slept perfectly. After the second night, I no longer needed any narcotic pain relief. I also began at home physical therapy on day 2 and I worked diligently to get my life back. Working hard paid off big time! After my 2 post-op surgery appointments with Dr. Ramkumar, I was cleared to drive and resume normal activities. It has been less than 2 months since surgery and now I can walk miles at a time, bicycle miles at a time, and swim as long as I desire. Thank you so much to Dr. Ramkumar and his team, everyone of them works cohesively together and answers any and all of my questions and concerns. They helped to make my surgery and recovery seamless and successful. While I hope to never need no additional surgery, Dr. Ramkumar will be my first call if I ever begin having trouble in my right knee and I have no hesitations that he is the perfect man for the job! I have already referred him to my personal friends and would not hesitate to continue referring him to anyone I know. I am back to all activities and excited to have my life back with no pain, as all my expectations from before surgery were exceeded. - R. Stuver.

> Dr Ramkumar changed my life. I was in major pain in my hip from arthritis and Dr Ramkumar diagnosed the problem and we scheduled a total hip replacement. > I owe a lot to Dr. Ramkumar! I had serious arthritis in my hip and was in constant pain. I did not want to give up the activities that I enjoyed, but one by one, I was doing less of them because of that pain. Dr. Ramkumar explained the whole process of hip replacement thoroughly and I made the decision to do it. This was one of the best decisions I ever made.
>
> Through information on Dr. Ramkumar’s website, a brochure provided by his staff, and a zoom class every step was explained. When I woke up from surgery the pain in my hip gone. Sure there was surgery pain as expected but that horrible hip pain was completely gone.
>
> I can’t say enough about how supportive Dr. Ramkumar, his staff, and the physical therapy clinic on site have been. I now walk everyday, do yoga, water aerobics, and just completed a three hour walking tour that I had purchased but had been unable to do as it was too painful. I feel I have been given an incredible opportunity. Thank you Dr. Ramkumar!

> For over 2 years I endured terrible pain and the inability to walk normally due to bone on bone arthritis of my left knee. In October 2025, Dr Ramkumar preformed my complete knee replacement and did an amazing job. I followed his instructions and worked with his PT team with all the daily exercises. It certainly takes a commitment and patience but in time it all comes together. I'm so thankful to be walking normally again! It's an incredible feeling, I almost forgot what it was like. I'm now able to go places and walk at a good pace and for a long distance with no issues. I feel like I have my life back! I highly recommend Dr Ramkumar he is definitely skilled, my knee is proof!

> I was referred to Dr Bhalla when I went into another Ortho for hip surgery. After an MRI revealed pinched nerve issue in my neck, (probably as a result of arthritis). Dr Bhalla listened well to my history. After reviewing my xrays and MRI, he explained things precisely. We've set up surgery. I'm looking forward to the results. AND, his staff also rocks! > I'm 3-months post-op from my meniscus repair done by Dr. Ramkumar and I'm super happy with the outcome. As a 66-year old mountain biker, golfer and pickleball player, I really appreciate his approach focusing on repair first vs automatically shaving or removing the meniscus, since repair helps slow the onset of osteo arthritis and will help extend my athletic life. The pre-op visits with Dr. Ramkumar were great! I never felt rushed, he took time to answer all my questions and discuss options. He's friendly and easy going with a great sense of humor which helped me feel alot less nervous about the surgery and recovery process. 5 stars for Dr. Ramkumar and his team!

> I had been suffering from severe arthritis in both knees for a number of years, always afraid of knee replacement surgery after seeing how hard it was on a family member. Now, I’m 6 weeks out from left knee replacement surgery, having had the *best possible experience* under Dr. Prem Ramkumar’s excellent care. He and his helpful staff have been with me every step of the way. His friendly demeanor put me at ease, and his knowledge and experience engendered my trust. But the best part is how well I have felt postoperatively. My pain was very well managed, and my range of motion is progressing rapidly with the help of both his in-house physical therapist as well as a handy app that has home exercises which are advanced in stages. The app also provides a lot of useful recovery information and a way to easily communicate with the office. If you need any type of knee surgery, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Ramkumar to you. I will be returning later in the year to have him replace my right knee. A+ positive experience.

> Dr. Wassef is my hero. When I was about 6, I was diagnosed with a somewhat rare condition known as Perthes disease. 24 years later I had developed advanced osteoarthritis, among other complications. I’m lucky to have had such a great doctor take on my case. It’s been three weeks since I had my hip replacement , and after all these years, I’m finally pain free!!

> Hip Replacement
> So, your hip is hurting bad enough that you finally need to get it checked out, but you're not sure who to see. That was exactly the situation I found myself in. I knew I wanted a surgeon who specialized in the anterior approach rather than the posterior, since the recovery with the anterior method tends to have fewer limitations. While I was researching, I came across reviews for Dr. Prem Ramkumar. After looking into his training and current practice, it became clear that he was a standout in the field of hip surgeries. He was exactly the kind of doctor I was looking for—someone who used modern techniques to ensure the best possible outcomes.
>
> I made an appointment, and within two weeks, I was meeting with him. After reviewing my case, which included hairline fractures, arthritis, and bone-on-bone rubbing, Dr. Ramkumar agreed that I was a good candidate for a total hip replacement. We scheduled the surgery a couple of months out.
>
> During that time, I followed the instructions given by both Dr. Ramkumar and Long Beach Memorial. There were daily exercises—nothing too strenuous—but I’m sure they helped my recovery.
>
> When the big day arrived, I met with Dr. Ramkumar before the surgery. He reassured me that everything looked good and we were ready to go. Later that day, after the surgery, he came to check on me again to ensure everything was progressing as it should. I could tell he was genuinely invested in my case.
>
> That same day, I was able to walk to the restroom with a walker, use the toilet independently, and go up and down a few steps. By the end of the day, I was cleared to go home and was discharged.
>
> After the surgery, I stuck to the post-op exercises Dr. Ramkumar recommended. In the first week, I walked around the house and outside with a walker. After that, I graduated to using a cane.
>
> Now, almost three weeks post-surgery, I’m feeling fantastic. I’m walking two 1-mile walks a day and continuing with my exercises.
>
> I can’t recommend Dr. Ramkumar enough. His expertise made the entire surgery nearly pain-free, and I honestly can't believe how well I’m doing at this point in my recovery.

> Dr. Lee was my ankle surgeon after a bad break 8 years ago. My ankle started aching after all this time, so I went back to see him. I didn't have to wait long forcan appointment. An x-ray in the office showed nothing mechanically wrong with the hardware and no arthritis. We decided to try a cortisone shot. Getting the shot was absolutely painless. Almost a week later and doing well. Dr. Lee is just the best!! Highly recommend.

> March 2025 update
>
> I love you, Doc! I’m back to doing two things I love - running and yoga! Had arthroscopy done on both of my hips now and I’m so happy. As long as you don’t have arthritis yet, this procedure is amazing if done properly, and this doctor is the best!
>
> 2022
> Look no further, this is the doctor you want to see for your hip issues. I saw Dr. G almost a year ago after running my 25th marathon and developing pain in my right hip, I really did not want to do surgery and he gave me options to see if this pain will go away with physical therapy and no running. After six months of no results, I went back to Dr. G and he showed me on the x-ray that hip arthroscopy would be the best choice to fix the problem. I went to other famous orthopedic surgeons in Santa Monica and West LA for second and third and fourth opinions. And it would be fine to choose one of them for the surgery but going with Dr. G felt like the right choice. The level of care and attention you get from this doctor is well above average! He’s meticulous, thorough and has the first-hand experience of this procedure as a Patient. Him being a runner himself gave me confidence I can return to the sport I love..
> His assistant Zohra is amazing, any questions - I get answers via emails promptly. She guided me through preparation for the surgery, post-op, etc.
> it’s six weeks post-op and the doctor saw me three times already to follow up on the progress of my recovery and physical therapy.
> I have been recommending him to my friends.

> Dr Millstein is personable, knowledgeable, practical and efficient. He explained the shoulder pain came from bone on bone caused by arthritis. He treated me with a cortisone shot which has made a world of difference. We have a treatment plan for the future and I feel comfortable that he will be a good partner in helping me keep active.

> Dr. Millstein covered all the necessary bases in regard to my postoperative care needs in his specialty of orthopedic knee surgery. He also carefully examined the x-rays that his technician had just completed, and told me that everything looked good. He also said after he had me bend my knees and do some setup and stand exercises that I had reached the point where I really did not need to continue with physical therapy for my knees on a professional level at this time, unless I wanted to. He did encourage me to keep being physically active. He also referred me to Dr. Eugene Tsai for the arthritis in my hands and left shoulder, believing that Dr. Tsai could prescribe some therapy for those issues.

> I recently underwent A2M injections in both knees after years of struggling with severe pain caused by torn menisci, sprained MCLs, and osteoarthritis in both knees. The procedure was seamless, and I received two injections in each knee. I drove from San Diego to be under his care and expertise with the A2M procedure.
>
> Even though it has only been one week since the treatment, I am already noticing significant improvements. I can now walk up and down the stairs normally, as opposed to the one-two step pattern I had to rely on before. This is a huge improvement in my mobility and a major reduction in pain.
>
> I am excited about the continued healing and grateful to Dr. Kamrava for his precise and exceptional care. His expertise has truly made a difference in my quality of life. I recommend him 100%! Anna C.

> The first time I met Dr. Ramkumar, I felt comfortable and at ease. I came to him with "knee pain" but after being assessed and taking a few x-rays, he quickly informed me that the issue was not my knee but was actually my hip. I had seen multiple doctors in the past who had diagnosed me with arthritis in the knee and claimed that was causing pain that I felt. Dr. Ramkumar explained what the issue was, how the issue probably happened and the solution. I came to him with previous medical trauma and skepticism of the health care system. My experience with him has been nothing short of amazing. The hip impingement surgery went well and recovery was better than I expected. I was on a stationary bike the day after surgery and started PT within days. Pain level was minimal with the exception of occasional stiffness at the surgery site. I've been able to walk and recovery quicker than I imagined possible. I haven't experience any of the pain (lower back, hip and knee) that I had prior to the surgery since the morning after surgery. If you are someone who is unsure or confused about hip and/or knee issues, I'd urge you to see Dr. Ramkumar. He got it right with me the first time and I have seen nothing but improvements to my day to day and overall quality of life. If I have to undergo the surgery on my other hip, I would not hesitate to contact Dr. Ramkumar again.

> Dr. Kamrava and I met a little over a year ago when my chief pain complaint was the left side of my neck. I have a complex history with injuries — I played contact sports my whole life like football and lacrosse, boxed in college, served in the Army, experienced a hit and run on my motorcycle, had multiple snowboarding/wakeboarding crashes, and to top it all off I had brain surgery a couple of years ago for Chiari Malformation. Basically, my body has been through the wringer and now that I’m 30 years old, the pain has caught up to me.
>
> Dr. Kamrava has successfully reduced my overall pain in the last year by about 80%. I was miserable when I saw him — I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t sit in my chair long enough to focus on work, and the future looked bleak. How was I going to progress in my career? How was I going to start a family and live my life? The pain was constant and it was so fatiguing. Dr. Kamrava stuck by my side as we resolved each problem in my body. I had arthritis in my cervical spine so we did a couple of injections and an RFA — this improved my pain by 20%. Then we discovered that my left shoulder labrum was torn, along with part of my supraspinatus tendon so we injected it with PRP — my overall body pain improved by 30%. The next thing we found was that I had a couple herniated discs in my neck, which Dr. Kamrava just injected 2 weeks ago — this helped SIGNIFICANTLY by another 30%. Dr. Kamrava brings confidence, optimism, compassion, and expertise to the table. He’s open minded and is always willing to answer questions.
>
> I’m not completely pain free yet, but I’m 90% there. Dr. Kamrava and Nora have been so great to work with. I would recommend this team over and over again. They really are out there changing lives.
>
> Thank you!!!

> Dr. Millstein was very nice and easy going. He listened to the description of my knee and the activities I wanted to continue doing. After a quick x-ray and diagnosis I was given a cortisone shot and my knee feels amazing. I was worried about needing a second surgery but he said it is arthritic and does not require surgery at this time. I will make sure to see him if required in the future.

> I cannot recommend Dr. Garabekyan enough. He has changed my life. After experiencing many years of hip pain and immobility due to an unknown hip deformity, he was able to determine the cause, repair and reshape my hips. These past five years have been the most difficult in my life. I’ve gone through over 10-15 pelvic mris, failed numerous biologic meds, lost my career, and started to lose myself. I’m now able to walk longer periods without excruciating pain and limping. I suffer from psoriatic arthritis, but finding a solution to my hip problem has already given me hope for my future and that is a huge accomplishment in my book. Thank you Dr. Garabekyan for your patience, skill, hard work, and kindness. To anyone experiencing chronic hip pain, please don’t waste your time with anyone else. Make an appointment with Dr. Garabekyan.

> I've had to have a number of arthritis related surgeries over the years and fortunately they have all been successful. With these experiences
> one gets feel for the doctor in a number of ways. Some surgeons are more than happy to do surgery and others are much more conservative wanting to explore physical therapy and other options to avoid surgery.
>
> Dr. Millstein is conservative and someone I highly recommend.
