Doctor Khurana is the type of doctor that every doctor should try to emulate. I know he is busy but each time I meet with him he spent all the time I needed, as if I was the only patient he had that day. My surgery when very well and my recovery was easy. He and his PA Ms. Kim made sure my and my wife’s questions were answered fully. If I had further questions between appointments Ms. Kim got back to me right away and always said she would, if we wanted, would set-up a call with Dr. Khurana.

Dr. Khurana and his staff went above and beyond in scheduling and providing me with critical surgery. The Covid pandemic was underway and it was a real challenge getting any medical procedure done, let alone a complicated spine surgery. Nevertheless, Dr. Khurana and staff made it happen. The surgery was successful and I have been pain free since.

This man is nothing short of a brilliant miracle worker. I had seen three other surgeons that one is before I'm a very serious and life-changing surgery on my spine and I wasn't very optimistic at all. Luckily my urologist mentioned Dr. Khurana and I was fortunate enough to have a consultation with him where he presented me his surgical solution, which catered more to my active lifestyle. And ultimately, it was a better fit. Believe it or not, I had three surgeries in one day... A triple lumbar fusion, sciatic decompression and double cervical fusion. These three surgeries were able to give me the relief I needed, and help me avoid a single surgery (laminoplasty) at the age of 40 that is usually performed on someone around the age of 70. I still may to have that surgery someday, but at least I was able to retain my active lifestyle and have healing that went way above and beyond what I was expecting. I had regained feeling on several key points on my body and the obstructed or failed functionality of other daily functions were also rectified and returned to their pre-accident condition. I was and am thrilled to discuss this as everyone has horror stories when it comes to back or spinal surgeries...I however, do not. I have a great story and have a brilliant surgeon with a HUGE heart and a passion for helping others heal. It's no wonder that so many athletes worldwide will travel 20+ hours to see him...and his local clients are loyal & enthusiastic as well. I also didn't know at the time, but there was once an incident where Harrison Ford crashed his airplane on the Santa Monica Golf Course. Lucky for him, Dr. Khurana was golfing at the time and successfully rescued Harrison from the crash and was able to get some volunteers to put soil on the leaking gasoline to keep it from igniting. Now that's a pretty courageous, passionate and talented person I've described...and it's all true. I'm so happy he's my surgeon. I won't let anyone else ever touch my spine. To keep it 100 He is the fucking bomb dot com, the fucking shit, the bees knees...all of that! Big thanks to him AND his team that were so helpful with everything!!

My dad had been struggling with lower back pain from a bulging disc for over a year. He had been given a wide variety of surgical options from other spine surgeons. When he met Dr. Khurana, he knew he was the surgeon for him. He had the most conservative approach, took the time to explain everything to him, was very thorough and detailed, friendly, approachable, etc... everything anyone would want in a back surgeon!! His surgery went perfectly and was seriously a life changer for him. We would definitely recommend Dr. Khurana to anyone for any spinal procedure!

I am a 60 year old male and very active golf and tennis player. I suffered severe spinal stenosis in my lower back (lumbar) that sent radiating pain down my legs and rendered me effectively unable to do anything other than sit and sleep. I tried to ameliorate the pain with physical therapy and spinal epidurals in an effort to avoid surgery, but in my case it proved fruitless leaving surgical remediation as the only option. I consulted several prominent surgeons that all proposed minimally invasive micro decompression. However, what is “minimal” and “routine” for the surgeons is anything but for you and me the patient. A friend with access to excellent medical referrals suggested I see Dr. Khurana, even though I was scheduled for surgery with one of the “celebrity” surgeons. Best decision ever! Dr. Khurana spent meaningful time reviewing my MRI and consulting with me. He noticed things on the MRI and my unique spinal structure that the other surgeons didn’t or didn’t bother to discuss with me. I felt that Dr. Khurana was interested in me, the whole patient, and my concerns, not just another patient to run through the mill as I felt with the other Dr.’s I consulted. I was confident that Dr. Khurana was the right surgeon to handle my case, so I canceled the other surgeon. In addition to Dr. Khurana, his PA Elaine, and the office staff were wonderful with me before during and after surgery. My confidence in choosing Dr. Khurana and his team was rewarded with an excellent outcome. Only three months post surgery and my tennis and golf games are better than ever. Dr. Khurana did 2 surgeries - one on my lower back and one on my neck. His care was excellent. It was a complicated surgery and I have recovered fully from the pain I was suffering from. I could not recommend anyone better for spinal issues! His knowledge, care and follow thru are unsurpassed! He is VERY conservative in treatment and tries to rectify the problems without surgery. When I was under his care we did still need to do a double fusion on my neck after Epidurals and PT failed. He informed me that my range of motion might be slightly limited. Now, years later, it is as perfect as it was before I began having complications! Now, seeing him to help me with my lower back. I am confident that I'll be as good as new in no time!

The difference was night and day. Not only was Dr. Khurana's technique different but my recovery time was so much easier. He always made himself available to answer any questions and always checked-up on me post-surgery. I am extremely happy the my post-surgery results and recommend Dr. Khurana highly. I had a fusion surgery with Dr. Khurana and I cannot speak more highly about him or his entire team. Dr. Khurana not only has exceptional clinical reasoning and surgical skills, but he has a phenomenal bed side manner. He is very confident and personable - both skills that I find essential in a surgeon. He offered a minimal invasive approach to surgery and a much quicker timeline for recovery - and that is due to his skill was a surgeon. Do it! See Dr. Khurana. Trust Dr. Khurana's judgement, his surgical skills and his up to date methods. I did and my mobility is significantly improved and my pain is significantly reduced. I tried all conservative approaches and consulted with many surgeons before I had the fortune of meeting Dr. Khurana. When he explained his approach to cervical and spinal health, I knew I found my surgeon. He is patient, personable and is an athlete who understands the importance of staying active. The best spine surgeon in the business IMO. He's recognized as a Super Doctor for a reason. Important training you want to look for in a spine surgeon doing fusions, which Dr Khurana has, is a fellowship in spine reconstruction because the doctor is removing certain parts of your spine and putting it back together with implants like a car engine that's taken apart and put back together. I've had several surgeries with Dr Khurana... 2019: L4L5/L5S1 fusion, instrumentation, and decompression and 2020: L4L5/L5S1 hardware removal from the 2019 fusion and C5C6 disc replacement. For my neck, I had radiating pain/ongoing tingling down both arms which was exacerbated even from carrying groceries and severe chronic pain in the lower back due to having very little disc material left and couldn't sit long. After the 2019 fusion, I was walking the next morning as soon as I was allowed and my neck disc replacement was a complete success getting rid of the pain down both arms. Dr Khurana is efficient and to the point, answers all your questions, and will diagnose your condition very accurately. He has a great team taking care of patients in different capacities such as his PA, medical assistants, schedulers, billers, surgery staff, etc.. If you're considering spine surgery or want a consultation to discuss a game plan to rehab your spine, I highly recommend you see Dr Khurana.

Dr. Sanjay Khurana is an awesome surgeon. This was my second surgery in ten years. The first was at St. Marys in Long Beach. It did not go well for me there. I was never the same. I was very reluctant and scared knowing that I would have to relive that nightmare from ten years ago. Well, here I am two days post-op and I'm walking slowly but without any balance issues or complications. I am very grateful to Dr. Khurana. Before, I could not walk a half city block without falling to the ground in pain. I felt helpless and scared. I feel some discomfort after the surgery but that is to be expected. This is nothing like I encountered in my first surgery ten years ago. I put off the surgery as long as I could because I was genuinely frightened. All is great now! I feel twenty years younger. If I have must require further procedeures Dr. Sanjay Kharana will be the doctor I choose. In closing, it was a wonderful experience. I had the procedure performed at the Diagnostic & Interventional Surgical Center. The staff is wonderful. They are extremely accomodating and genuinely concerned. Again, a big thank you to Dr. Khurana and all of his wonderful staff who made this happen.

Great doctor who I will recommend to anyone with neck issues. His staff is top of the line and help you easily coordinate appointments, MRI’s etc…  Dr. Khurana was very professional, took his time to explain things and went above and beyond to help me with my neck problem . knowledgeable about their work. I was very worry because my age 59 and  It has been 9 weeks since my surgery and have had zero pain .I will never be able to thank him and his staff enough.I feel great. . I had my surgery done in Marina Del Rey at Diagnostic And Interventional Surgical Center which I will say was probably the best experience ever after having surgery.

I have been dealing with spinal issues since 2009 and thanks to the wonderful expertise of Dr Khurana, it has been a lot more manageable. I had a microdisectomy on my L4-5 region in 2012 & most recently (July 2020), cervical ADR 3/4. Both times I felt instant relief and very minimal post surgical pain.
