> Dr. Ramkumar was referred by a friend. After an xray and no examine he referred me for a hip injection in the hospital. It was completely unsuccessful. The injection was a very involved and complex procedure. (Unlike the one successful I had with another orthopedic dr done in office with an xray guided needle) Dr. Ramkumar said this one was "better." Unfortunately, it was not. I went back to my previous dr for a 2nd opinion. I needed to get the CD from Dr. Ramkumar's office. I was told it would cost $15. When I got to my orthopedic dr, the CD was blank. Several of Dr. Ramkumar's office staff were rude and lacked empathy. I would not recommend this doctor or office.

> **⭐⭐**
> UPDATE: Dr. Ramkumar reached out personally to make amends, and I was able to get a first-morning appointment the following week. The appointment went smoothly and on time — he took his time to answer all my questions. I have a complex case with two prior failed surgeries on the same knee. Whether or not I go with this doctor, I appreciated that the office reached out and that I was able to consult with him directly. His knowledge and expertise in this field was never in question, and I’m glad I had the chance to see him.
>
> 2:45 pm appointment, arrived at 2:30- didn't see the doctor until I gave up and walked out at 4:15pm! Almost two hours of my life I'll never get back, and honestly the whole time it felt like they'd simply forgotten I was there. I had to ask three separate times as they didn’t check in with me, only to be told "you're next" each time. Spoiler: I was never next.
>
> I have a lot of respect for the years of training doctors go through to earn their accolades and I get that delays happen. But that respect needs to go both ways — patients' time matters too. Stringing a new patient along for two hours with repeated "you're next" is not acceptable.
>
> This experience really tainted my view of both the doctor and the practice — and unfortunately, I'll never get to find out how good the doctor actually is.

> I went to Dr Ramkumar’s office after tearing my ACL and Meniscus. I went to two consultations and then decided to transition care elsewhere.
>
> Dr. Ramkumar was immature, distracted, and unprofessional throughout my care. His notes were copy-pasted and claimed 45-minute counseling sessions (which were only 5 mins) and discussions that never happened. When I questioned the accuracy, he became defensive and said I shouldn’t have read my own chart.
>
> He was constantly on his phone during appointments, and when I decided to switch doctors, he responded with “That’s wonderful news. Thank you so much!” then blocked me on Instagram.
>
> Luckily I switched to another doctor for my surgery. There are plenty of great sports orthopedists in Southern California. I strongly suggest going elsewhere.
>
> Editing review to ensure others don’t risk themselves under the knife from this doc!
> Note on reply:
> - I did not interact with the doctor in any way online. Any accusation otherwise is a lie.
> - I did not receive any referral from the doctor after termination of care. That is a lie.
> - The doctors note specifically states “A total of 45 minutes were spent in face-to-face consultation…”, which was a lie.
> Easy to see the theme here.

> I had an absolute TERRIBLE experience with DR. Ramkumar! I went to him with excruciating hip pain after an accident. He took an X-ray and MISSED a fracture in my hip. Instead, he made fun of how the accident happened and started explaining to me nonsense about how Asians tend to develop hip arthritis later at an older age. I am not even Asian, I am Caucasian and another surgeon said I don’t have any problem in my hip genetically. I kept reminding him that this happened after an accident, yet he ignored me and guess what … he referred me to physical therapy! Hip fracture shouldn’t even be moved a bit otherwise it will be displaced and cause huge complications. Later on, we sent the X-rays to four different orthopedic surgeons and they all agreed that I had a hip fracture that needed surgery to be fixed and I should have avoided even putting weight on it. Had my fracture been left untreated, I would have needed a hip replacement at a very young age. This doctor was about to cost me my health and ability to walk with his ignorance and horrible diagnosis. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS. THIS DOCTOR IS IN FACT DANGEROUS TO YOU AND YOUR HEALTH!
