I went to Dr. Port regarding an injury I sustained at work. I was seen, given an MRI and had all the important information sent out to all associated parties. Dr. Port took time to explain the process and gave me a prognosis of how to improve my injury so that I could return to work as soon as possible. I’ve known Dr. Port as a lay colleague and friend for many years, so there is some bias in my feedback. I will say that his approach to explaining esoteric concepts in the simplest of ways, thoughtfulness in listening to and understanding my symptoms, and attention to detail (pre/ post procedure)… are second to few. I experienced an acute sciatic episode, and it scared me to disbelief. Dr. Port found time in his busy schedule to plan my MRI and epidural intervention. I’m finally in a place of comfort and can resume my life with physical therapy and better posture, with the goal of avoiding surgery. Can't thank him enough!

Among The MOST professional, precise, thorough, attentive, kind doctors I've been treated by in my life, and my experience with him dates back 18 years when I had my first cervical fusion. Dr. Port's communication skills are exceptional. He bedside manner is comforting and he explains in detail every step that he will be taking, even as he's taking them! Having had 3 surgeries with him (and due to congenital issues, probably soon to be a 4th), as well as several procedures/injections that pre-dated the surgeries, I feel that he is truly in a class by himself. Having moved back east to Portland, Maine three years ago and starting to experience new issues with my back, rather than working with some of the wonderful doctors in Portland I flew back to see Dr. Port and my equally wonderful neurosurgeon, Dr Sanjay Khurana. Dr. Port works with an exceptional group of doctors in a remarkable facility where everyone is friendly and caring, from reception and billing to the extraordinary care I have always received. This morning, Saturday, two weeks after my procedure, I received my 3rd message from him checking in to see how I was doing. Who provides that level of care?? I feel so fortunate to be one of Dr Port's patients.
