Dr. Combs is great. He is knowledgeable and answers questions thoroughly. The office staff needs work, definitely not the best customer service and not always polite. I will update in 2 months after my hip replacement surgery.

I have only been there twice and every staff works fast to get you in and out. No long waits in rooms or for dr to come in. X-rays are done quick doctor is in quick. He is very thorough and down to the point. for my knee injection came in did it and I was out. so far no complaints. I think he is great including all his staff.

I loved Dr. Combs, he has been my orthopedic for many years, I was there in October after waiting 1 month for an appointment and he gave me a cortisone shot on my knee, didn’t help at all so I call back to go see him again and on a very rudeness way they told me they don’t except my insurance any more, then I got a letter from my insurance saying that I could see him until December 31St. They cut me out because in the office they are all rude. I hope this gets to Dr. Combs Desk… This is now January 2023, I couldn’t walk with so much pain, went to see another orthopedic that took X-ray exactly like the technician did on Dr. Combs offices and I had a tear on the meniscus. Surgery was a success… Dr. Christopher Combs is a great doctor everyone that works for him in Lakewood’s offices are very unprofessional…

I had surgery on Jan. 8, 2025. I also had staples in my knee and they were taken out 2 days when leaving the hospital. I did bleed a little bit and butterfly bandages were put on. I had in home therapy for a few weeks with a outside therapy company who came to my house with no complications! Starting on 2-10-2025, I went to Dr. Combs therapist and on the 2nd appointment, one of the therapist dropped my leg on the table and telling the head therapist my leg slipped out of his hands! Ever since then, my leg has been declining! I tell Dr Combs about the incident each time I see him once a month and it seems not to faze him one bit! I even had a second opinion with his colleague Dr Andrew J Wassef, who immediately saw that I had water in my knee! Dr Combs didn't even see that after all the months I have seen him!!!!! I asked Dr Wassef the injury I had at the therapist office could have caused the water in my knee, he said yes! Dr Combs ran all kinds of tests on me with negative results. They cannot tell me why my knee is still swollen(possible water in knee again), giving out on me, painful, stiff and still clicking. The Dr's pulled 1oz of water out of my knee which showed negative infection. These doctors rather have me to do the footwork to find out my own problem! In my eyes, this is very UNPROFESSIONAL and I cannot deal with this! The medical Review Board will hear about this!!!!

Did my sisters knee replacement three weeks ago. I can only compare her experience with my own knee replacement (not Dr. Combs). Dr Combs stapled the wound closed, something my doctor said only "lazy" doctors use. He removed her staples obviously too soon because every time she bends her knee for the last week it starts bleeding and oozing. A lot. My doctor was very concerned about the possibility of infection and was careful to cover the incision, but clearly Dr. Combs isn't. When she returned to his office with her bleeding scar they slapped some steri-strips on it and sent her on her way. We are talking to attorneys.

It took over a month to get an appointment. When this miracle day finally arrived I received a call from a “Scam Likely” number saying they couldn’t see me because a technician called out. Interesting that they charge you $25 for a cancellation fee but expect you to just grin and bear a last minute cancellation. Completely unprofessional. Avoid like the plague.

We were referred to see Dr. Combs, but instead were switched to Dr. Ahn. My partner, who is disabled, was given the option not to have surgery on a recent break on her previously broken finger, but to put it in a cast. After the casting process, the bone was moved and healed at such a terrible angle it is now actually hitting the other bone in her hand. Now she has to have major surgery to correct the painful condition she is currently in due to their mismanagement of her case. Dr. Ahn actually said after this X-Ray that she was 75% healed and that she should just go out and buy a brace to put on it. She would have been better off if we had just put a brace on her hand ourselves.

The front office is extremely arrogant and rude. It is hard to make appointments. Terrible customer service. They never return phone calls. I Dr. Combs is a dedicated and terrific doctor. I would only go there if you don't mind dealing with completely inconsiderate office staff.

I was instructed to see him within the 90 day window after he placed my dislocated shoulder. Since he didn’t take my insurance he told me that he couldn’t do anything for me...this was in October. It is now February and I just had another xray. My shoulder is still slightly dislocated and I’m still in pain. I will be seeing a different ortho soon. It appears that he doesn’t care about the patient, just getting paid.

I've always had a very difficult time trying to set an appointment. A year later when I need to make an appointment I get the same excuse. Your primary needs to send the referral. I did that and they said they did not receive it. But gone through this before in the past with this doctor's office and frankly I'm fed up. Dr Combs is great but his office staff sucks big time. If I ever get to see doctor comes again I'm going to tell him how bad his staff is. The lady that answer the phone had a really bad attitude.

I have tried for over a month to just book an appointment. At first I was told that my primary care doctor had not sent a referral, after having the referral re-sent I was told that I did not need a referral but that the office workers needed to check my ppo information. I received a call back message saying that, yes my insurance was okay but there were questions. I tried several times to call back and was either put on hold for over twenty minutes at a time or received a busy signal. When I finally did get through I was told that no one knew what the questions might be and I would be called back. No return call yet. Here's the deal. I am in pain, I need an Ortho Doctor. I guess I have to go somewhere else.
